I am a teenager. I grew up listening to that song. It was always my father's favorite. The older I get, the more I realize how simple but deep these lyrics are. True poetry. The melody itself brings out tears I didn't know I had to let out. It makes me think about how young I still am and how many moments are still infront of me. Heartbreaks, sacrifices, loss. It all must happen. This masterpiece makes me think about certain things on a deeper level. 2:32 until 2:40 causes sobbing for me. My mother had originally introduced me to this song in the winter of 2009. That was when I was just a 5 year old girl, but growing up this song always lingered throughout my childhood. Not only is the melody capable of taking you through a realm of nostalgia and comfort, it is also one capable of shaping your past and brings a certain tranquility through the art of lyricism. Saw Sting and Billy Joel last night 2/8/25 in Indianapolis. The men are now 72 and 75 respectively. I've been to a lot of concerts and I can say this was the best in my life. It took me back to the 80s, they both sound just like they used to, lots of musicians voices fade but theirs haven't. If you enjoy either one I highly recommend taking them in soon; you never know when an artist will have their last performance. I missed out on Tom Petty, Nirvana, Tina Turner and Stone Temple pilots. I regret that.

Saw Sting and Billy Joel last night 2/8/25 in Indianapolis. The men are now 72 and 75 respectively. I've been to a lot of concerts and I can say this was the best in my life. It took me back to the 80s, they both sound just like they used to, lots of musicians voices fade but theirs haven't. If you enjoy either one I highly recommend taking them in soon; you never know when an artist will have their last performance. I missed out on Tom Petty, Nirvana, Tina Turner and Stone Temple pilots. I regret that.

I met my now wife back in late 2005, while we were both single travellers, meeting briefly , by chance , on a trip to Jordan, and walking Petra on Christmas Day... We eventually got together, and have since travelled the world, to more than 100 countries since... Our retirement has been a blast, influenced by my many years of guitar playing and singing. Always been a Sting fan, but more so as when my wife and I had some difficult years before getting together before I retired, a close friend gave us this song as 'our song' and it has been so ever since, and Ive had the privilege on a number of trips to be able to perform this to audiences, and especially dedicate it to her... Always our song, one of the best, from one of the best song-writers of the last few decades.... Happy memories... for ever.. !!
