Great video. Have some requests. Where to get recipes? Are there only vendors recipes? What are the most sough t after? What are the supporting professions? I assuming hunting, fishing, and farming. Is husbandry? In Ashes of Creation, the number of professions a character can have is limited by their certification tier and artisan branch. For example, a character can only be a Master in up to three professions and a Grandmaster in up to two professions.
I think it wouldn't hurt if for specializations in cooking maybe there could be 3 specializations, one for short periods of time but stronger (sweets and cakes) a long-term (meals and more comprehensive foods) recovery and estra effects (potions and drinks) and then between these perhaps mastery in a specific buff? But I've never really played an MMORPG (I want Ashes to be my first) so the unders may need some adjustments. :P
I'm going to play a Vaelune Cultist and I think I'm going to have to go with confectionery. It doesn't get much better than a murderous, sacrificial rogue fueled by the sheer power of cookies and muffins.
So is it on to miscellaneous skills now? The only skill you haven't covered is Scribing although you did briefly mention Jewelcrafting. After that it's only speculation on future content or content that hasn't been announced yet when it comes to professions. For Jewelcrafting there could be more to it than just making rings and necklaces. It could also be used to create trinkets or maybe even needed for relics in some way such as enhancing them or whatnot. I'm sure node progression does need professions or at least I hope they do as it gives a reason to progress with them and is a way to help your node out beyond just donating materials for buildings and taxes. For Scribing I can only think of a few examples. Obviously what comes to mind is World of Warcraft which was pretty interesting till it become purely for cosmetics. Then there's making it a sort of support skill like in Project Gorgon where it's used for a couple things. Mainly Calligraphy where it allows you to get Sword combo buffs and once you get it to 25 you can unlock Sigil Scripting. With Sigil Scripting you could think of it like totems from the WoW Shaman class but it requires materials to deploy them and can only use one at a time. Although they are pretty interesting from both damage and healing to a repelling barrier that can knock enemies away as well as a teleportation point that all party members can use for repositioning. However, I'm sure that kind of stuff would be only class skills with AOCs design philosophy. It does make you think though. For other professions it's purely speculation as I mentioned earlier. Although it would be interesting to see Flower Arrangement or something similar in AOC. In PG food is mainly a combat buff whereas Flower Arrangement can give combat buffs but also skill buffs such as +50% chance to get double harvest for particular crops such as cotton for Textile Creation. Although like you mentioned they might just have all those kind of buffs covered under the Cooking but I would find it awesome to go to a tavern to get buffs from not just the food and drink but the decorations such as flowers or art displays and whatnot. Definitely a way to progress your Tavern more than just leveling your Cooking. While PG has performance buffs reminiscent of Starwars Galaxies I'm sure for AOC that's covered within the Bard profession. I'm sure there's an incentive to leave your Bard AFK giving out buffs as that would encourage people to leave them at taverns while they are busy and gives more reason to visit taverns. I guess that's an upcoming video though as you haven't done a video on taverns yet so maybe you can do that after finishing professions. As to speculative skills I guess the most common to think of would be Engineering and Archeology. I'm not exactly a huge fan of WoW's Archeology profession given that's I've never leveled it beyond trying it out for a few hours if even one hour. Now Runescape 3's Archeology skill I've had a total blast with and is super rewarding. For AOC it could be tied to relics and wouldn't necessarily need to be a profession. For example, it could be a faction progression system where you join the Archeology Guild who wishes to recover relics and artifacts lost to the Apocalypse by uncovering and exploring ancient ruins and cities, which could even unlock dungeons or raids. Obviously it could also be a way to unlock lore such as what happened to some places or peoples that were not able to escape to the Underrealm. For Engineering it's more up in the air and could probably be something created after launch. Or maybe they would even create a Tinker archetype as a class expansion rather than a profession which would be cool as well. Look forward to your next video. P.S. There's even some crazy PG performance buffs that you probably only get on poetry night, community Saturday event, such as the ability to fly for 10 minutes.

Then again, scribing has seen little variation and although we've seen a couple media depictions of it, such as Log Horizon, the mechanics are never explained but perhaps it is more in the light novel which I haven't read yet. I guess I did forget about Alchemy. Maybe I thought you already had done a video since I already made a lengthy comment including that but I look forward to your commentary on it. I think the Freehold system is what I and many others are interested in beyond the node system as what they seem to want to accomplish pretty ambitious. I'm not that well versed in any MMOs with a player run tavern as part of what is essentially a player housing system, which you have gone into a lot of detail on already. If I wasn't doing Animal Husbandry as my focus I probably would be doing a tavern but we'll just have to see how much space you actually get. I don't mind though as that's what it's about is people doing their own thing and helping each other out. P.S. I predict Tyrion Lannister will be throwing up as you mention Garrisons in the Freehold video :P
