Oh, hi guys, so i had more of a high pitched voice i would say, now its more of a normal voice, but its definetly not deep, so i would say its better. If i would rate it i would give my previous voice 2.5/10 and now like a 5/10.

When I was a kid, me and my friend went to speak on a local radio station for something about school, I don't remember. Few days later when it aired, I listened to it with my mom and I recognised my words and sentences but it wasn't me saying them.. I asked my mom what is this, they put someone else for my part? And she said what are you talking about, it's you.. I didn't believe her so she had to record me speaking to prove it to me.

I have something of an opposite problem because I never thought much about my voice until OTHER people started complimenting me on it. So I’ve followed their advice to try and do more with my voice; but it’s still awkward hearing my recorded voice compared to what I’m used to hearing.
I listen to my voice from a recording and I feel bad for every single person I have ever spoke to.

It’s pretty much the opposite for me, I have a deep voice so regardless of on video or in my head it sounds deep. But in my head it sounds higher than on recording. When I hear myself laugh on recording or talk I sometimes get suprised by how it is deeper than I think. Almost everyone has the opposite.

One big problem is also that every microphone/software/speaker combination changes the voice, even settings make everything sound different. I remember these youtubers with OBNOXIOUS compression, i call it the "Radio-comp"
Also, there's a psychological reason, as we hear our voice the most, we are used to it, like, our inner voice has always the same "volume" you can't scream in your inner voice, if you don't pay attention to it you will start to move your mouth or even whisper. Try to whisper or scream with only your thoughts, it's literally impossible.
Context is SUPER important, have you ever heard a voice and could swear he sounds like someone else? I have this all the time as we synchornize movies in Germany they often only use a handful of voice actors and then you are like "Oh it is ____". When you check you realise it is someone else and THEN you hear the other voice.
We often expect a voice that is not as we think it should be. I know myself when i learn a new voice for a script or similar that it sounds perfect in my head (like speaking normal english) and then i record it or try it out and realise it sounds super different. If i try to copy a voice i have to pay attention to the pronounciation and the "temperature" of the voice. But there are so many subtle things that make out a voice we often don't realise.
I remember this person who claimed to sounds like a voice actor i loved, and then he showed me and i couldn't reconize the voice as it was. Because a voice is like a face, a dog owner can seperate two (let's say exact looking) dogs by their behavior or just by very subtle looks, the same is for the voice. our voice is so known as we "hear" it, that we expect it different.

I think it was trying to imply that we hear a "better looking" voice in our head than what's on recording or what other people hear since the guy on the left might be considered more conventionally attractive than the guy on the right, yet they still look similar enough in their overall look and expression. Since thumbnails don't include sound, I guess it was the only way to convey it? I don't know, just my theory, lol!
