IF YOUR GOAL IS TO MAKE YOUR BRACES LESS NOTICEABLE: I just got mine off, but I usually ended up getting a lavender color. My teeth are naturally more yellow, and the cooler color against it from a distance made my teeth look brighter. Even though lavender could be considered a pastel, it made my braces a lot less noticeable. Darker colors really bring out your braces, and even though the lavender would end up getting slightly stained, it wasnt such a pale color that it looked disgusting. So if your goal is to make your braces more subtle, I'd definitely go for lavender. Baby blue works too, but it stains more noticeably than lavender does. Also, i mostly had power bands, so i often had a solid color that covered everything and was very noticeable

Before i got braces everyone was saying "oH blue is the best color to make your teeth look whiter" i got blue and personally it made my teeth look more yellow. i tried dark purple because yellow and purple are on the opposite side of the color wheel. AND IT WORKED IT MADE MY TEETH LOOK SO MUCH WHITER- i would totally recommend dark purple 100% if you have a similar case as mine. hope this helps. 😁👍

For all the people in the comment section that are getting braces soon I’ll tell you my experience getting braces. I’ll try not to scare you, it wasn’t too bad. When I was at the orthodontist they glued the brackets on each tooth which took a while to dry up while they had a tube in my mouth to suck out the saliva. When they put the braces wires in, what I can say is this, it’s not like it hurts when they put the wires in (at that moment) but you can definitely feel the tension in the area of the gums as if the braces are already trying to work itself to make the teeth straight. About an hour later that’s when the soreness started to happen which continued for about 3 days. Trust me I was frustrated with that situation but after the soreness went away I was able to go back to eating regular things back to normal. But I hope everything goes well with you guys experience 😁and just for fun comment which color you guys want👇

My teeth aren’t white but they aren’t yellow they lean more to the white but light colors make my teeth look even more white. Darker colors tend to make them a bit more darker? i have dark blue right now and it isn’t bad but i would rather go with light colors light purple, light blue, maybe pink i haven’t tried that yet :)) also for anyway new with braces i brush my teeth for 5 minutes, it’s a “lot” but this way my braces are clean. My ortho and dentist always compliment my cleaning on my braces. SET A TIMER! that’s the thing without a timer it’s boring have something to watch while brushing your teeth.
Dw it doesn’t hurt that bad. I just got mine this weekend and felt it tightening after a few hours. Still can’t bite rn. It might feel unnatural or ‘feeling like it’s gonna come off’ but dw, it once its there, its gonna stay in there good. you’ll get used to it pretty soon. Soups and noodles/pasta are my top 2 foods bcs its easy to swallow immediately. Goodluck! You can do this!!✨👏
Also ready a chapstick (both before and after getting braces). Lips will get dry during the ‘putting on’ procedure. and paste for singaw (that was tagalog, idk the english term for it sorry) Feel free to ask me questions if you have any!
Got my braces yesterday.. it doesnt when they put them on but it will hurt later being sore and your teeth will hella sensetive!! Thats why people have to eat very soft foods in first couple days.

So, I’m getting braces in exactly 1h 30 mins and I’m just too excited. I have always been treated differently by people for the way my teeth looked (very crooked, sucked thumb until 10y) and had a surgery to remove 4 cavities last May (have MIH😭) but after all these years I’m FINALLY getting braces, I don’t care how much it hurts I just don’t want people to look down on my anymore. After 2 years I’ll acc be able to smile in photos again, so looking forward to that! I’ll update you guys soon (if anyone’s interested)

Sit down” and it was over in 10 mins, u fortunately the ortho didn’t let me pick my colour and gave me GREY, but I’m just thankful I finally got braces(I WANTED DARK PURPLE THO😭😭). I kinda ignored her when she said don’t eat for 2 hours bcuz I went out and got Wendy’s in 1 and then My front bracket broke, woops. And I got it fixed a few days ago so now all is well, it hurt to fully bite down for 2 days but honestly, it wasn’t too bad. After you get yours done tho, you HAVE to tell me about it!

Lilac purple is such a pretty color and yes it makes your smile brighter. For the past year I been choosing lilac and recently last month I tried new color light pink. I will be going back to lilac purple or try teal if it’s available.
I always had rainbow, purple, silver, and blue. I only had rainbow when I had power chains because the colors didn't look like I had some sort of mouth funk going on. Silver power chains were my second favorite. Made my teeth look super good in photos :)
Can you answer my question. My teeth were white before I got braces and as soon as I got braces my teeth turned yellow its been 2 1/2 months and it hasn’t gotten better. What can I do to make them white again?
Try using a water flosser pick (you can buy on amazon) and those little brushes to wash your gums and in between the wires! Also steer away from drinks like soda, tea and coffee as they tend to stain your teeth! Hope this helps!
If u eat foods with tumeric (Indian foods / curry) Teal - turns a bit greenish but not too bad Hot Pink - turns orangish (I didn’t like it) Glow green- turns a tiny bit yellow but I loved it Black- no change Silver(not gray)- turned a bit yellow 😅🥲 baby pink- turned orange baby blue - turned green quickly purple- colour faded drastically lavender - stayed abt the same

My first bands were a light purple, lilac to be exact and I was very surprise how it complimented my teeth and features. I would have wished it was more of a lavender though like your profile picture but maybe for another time. So I’d highly recommend atleast these shades of purple

I've heard not to use whitening toothpaste because when you get the brackets off, your teeth are going to be a different color than where your brackets are, if that makes sense?
My personal rule was to avoid colors with red in them, especially pinks, because they were too close to my gum, tongue, and lip colors and it just didn't look right having those colors on my teeth as well. I also avoided yellows, whites, browns, and leafy greens. Because I didn't want the look of spinach, popcorn, and stained teeth. I tried dark greens and blues which looked good. But my favorite was teal.
@@myras2009 It was a dark forest green at Christmas time. It didn't remind me of food because of the season. But I learned that I favored the lighter and brighter teal.

It’s really annoying because: where I get my braces they use CLEAR power chains and then put the coloured bands on top. But the Clear power chains get stained so Easy!!!!

For me, in my experience, I felt the pressure, but It doesn't hurt so much for me! Maybe it depends on people pain tolerance too!:) It's uncomfortable too for me, but I really like my overbite teeth to look good, even though It's a little bit uncomftable for me. But every teeth is different, and our experience too!:) It's my 2nd day with my braces, so It's a little bit uncomfortable😅, but I know, I will get used to it!

Braces don't hurt when you get them on, but after a few hours it starts hurting.

So, I’m getting braces in exactly 1h 30 mins and I’m just too excited. I have always been treated differently by people for the way my teeth looked (very crooked, sucked thumb until 10y) and had a surgery to remove 4 cavities last May (have MIH😭) but after all these years I’m FINALLY getting braces, I don’t care how much it hurts I just don’t want people to look down on my anymore. After 2 years I’ll acc be able to smile in photos again, so looking forward to that!

@@Sakura0754 I’m so glad you asked!! Honestly the process was so quick the ortho was like “You’re getting braces? Sit down” and it was over in 10 mins, u fortunately the ortho didn’t let me pick my colour and gave me GREY, but I’m just thankful I finally got braces(I WANTED DARK PURPLE THO😭😭). I kinda ignored her when she said don’t eat for 2 hours bcuz I went out and got Wendy’s in 1 and then My front bracket broke, woops. And I got it fixed a few days ago so now all is well, it hurt to fully bite down for 2 days but honestly, it wasn’t too bad. After you get yours done tho, you HAVE to tell me about it!

Lilac purple is such a pretty color and yes it makes your smile brighter. For the past year I been choosing lilac and recently last month I tried new color light pink. I will be going back to lilac purple or try teal if it’s available.
I always had rainbow, purple, silver, and blue. I only had rainbow when I had power chains because the colors didn't look like I had some sort of mouth funk going on. Silver power chains were my second favorite. Made my teeth look super good in photos :)
Can you answer my question. My teeth were white before I got braces and as soon as I got braces my teeth turned yellow its been 2 1/2 months and it hasn’t gotten better. What can I do to make them white again?
Try using a water flosser pick (you can buy on amazon) and those little brushes to wash your gums and in between the wires! Also steer away from drinks like soda, tea and coffee as they tend to stain your teeth! Hope this helps!

Teal - turns a bit greenish but not too bad
Hot Pink - turns orangish (I didn’t like it)
Glow green- turns a tiny bit yellow but I loved it
Black- no change
Silver(not gray)- turned a bit yellow 😅🥲
baby pink- turned orange
baby blue - turned green quickly
purple- colour faded drastically
lavender - stayed abt the same

My first bands were a light purple, lilac to be exact and I was very surprise how it complimented my teeth and features. I would have wished it was more of a lavender though like your profile picture but maybe for another time. So I’d highly recommend atleast these shades of purple

You should do a video on whitening toothpastes vs non whitening! I’ve seen that you’re not supposed to use whitening toothpastes but why not?
I've heard not to use whitening toothpaste because when you get the brackets off, your teeth are going to be a different color than where your brackets are, if that makes sense?
My personal rule was to avoid colors with red in them, especially pinks, because they were too close to my gum, tongue, and lip colors and it just didn't look right having those colors on my teeth as well.
I also avoided yellows, whites, browns, and leafy greens. Because I didn't want the look of spinach, popcorn, and stained teeth.
I tried dark greens and blues which looked good. But my favorite was teal.

@@myras2009 It was a dark forest green at Christmas time. It didn't remind me of food because of the season. But I learned that I favored the lighter and brighter teal.

@@alexayanez1145 I tried a dark purple and it was okay. I have purple coloration under my eyes and I felt that it brought it out which wasn't what I was going for. Lighter brighter purples felt too close to pink.

It’s really annoying because: where I get my braces they use CLEAR power chains and then put the coloured bands on top. But the Clear power chains get stained so Easy!!!!

I'm getting braces REALLY soon, and I'm kinda scared cus some people told me it hurts A LOT and others told me it just doesn't hurt at all. I've been struggling on what questions to get, thanks a lot!
For me, in my experience, I felt the pressure, but It doesn't hurt so much for me! Maybe it depends on people pain tolerance too!:) It's uncomfortable too for me, but I really like my overbite teeth to look good, even though It's a little bit uncomftable for me. But every teeth is different, and our experience too!:) It's my 2nd day with my braces, so It's a little bit uncomfortable😅, but I know, I will get used to it!
