any of you that are going for light blue or light purple, beware. I got light purple the first time I got my braces on, and the color faded, which made my teeth look super yellow. I recommend choosing something like dark blue, dark purple, darker shades of pink, or turquoise. I got turquoise the second time and I loved it.

aside from when i first got them on, ive NEVER been asked what color i want they always pick for me and it’s so frustrating cuz i’m a wimp and can’t speak up for myself. worst part is my my brother always gets to look at the colors and choose like huh?
Oh that's a pain Ellie. So why not decide on a color before you next go and mention it to the Orthodontist or nurse at the start of your appointment, you can do it, let me know how it goes?

If you're shy, you could try asking without directly saying it. Like you could try and say something like "I was just wondering if you have a [color] colored band?"
That’s sad. My dentist luckily is one of the nicest people I’ve met. She will always tell me what she will do, etc. And before she stats she’ll ask me about colours. Which I rlly like! I have had 3 tightening and on this one I chose light blue

@@azeeee7 I'm the same 😊 I don't know how many of mine need took out though. I also need the routh of my mouth operated on as I have an impacted tooth and they are going to put a chain on it to pull it down and then two weeks later will be braces then two years later lower jaw surgery. Just waiting on the letter just a massive long wait though. Hope getting the teeth out goes well x

I got purple and Navy blue for my first colors and I loved it! It didn’t change colors or fade and it made my teeth look super white!

I just got braces, went with the clear elastics (I have metal brackets, wires, etc). The thought of it staining kinda scares me, but I like it so far since it doesn't stand out too much.
Same, I got clear but I'm nervous. MY DOCTOR PICKED CLRER WITH OUT ASKING ME. I wanted black but I was also going for clear, well I don't know if clear Is that good but its kind of cute 😁😶😳

Black and blue (both dark and light pastel blue) are my go to colours since they make teeth look whiter and they don't stain! Pink is a no-no for me.

When I first got my braces I got teal, it looked really nice and made my teeth look super white. If you’re thinking about it, I definitely recommend getting teal! I just went in for an appointment today and got a light lavender color, its very pretty but I’m scared it’s going to stain-
I highly recommend purple💜. The best purple colour to get I think is pinkish purple because it doesn't really fade.
Light colours always seem to go like... Yellow coloured because of curry and stuff.

I just got a color combo of hot pink and dark blue The blue makes the pink look brighter and the pink makes the blue look darker and I just love the color combination.

i’ve decided that i’m just getting black. yes i’m very basic, but it doesn’t stain and i just like the idea of simplistic black bands

I personally get silver because it fits me I’ve tried purple/blue/teal/different variations of blue and I prefer silver there just easy to work with!

When I went to get my braces I wanted that light pink color u showed like that color would’ve been perfect bc I had a wedding and that color was the wedding color and would’ve matched my dress but they didn’t have it so I was super sad

I just changed mine a few days ago I got like a blue and burgundy I also really love that light blue but I don't think my dentist has it but if it did have it I would defiantly get that light blue
I would recommend grey colour since I'm wearing them... They do really well and they won't stain... In fact wearing the grey ones goes well with your braces and doesn't seem like rubber bands they're literally the best one according to me... If you're a person who doesn't want color rubber bands around your teeth, you can choose the grey ones....

I would reccomend just getting silver/grey as it just blends in with the metal wire

atleast its not a light color, if food gets stuck in ur mouth people cant see it so well if you have a dark color.

When I had braces this how I would choose.
Jan: White for winter.
Feb: Red or Pink with White for valentine's day.
March: Green for St. Patrick's day.
April: Aqua and Lavender for easter.
May: Green White and Red for cinco de mayo.
June: Gold for my birthday.
July: Red, White and Blue for fourth of July.
August: Any random combination I would let the tech decide.
September: Sliver and Blue for the cowboys my favorite football team and start of football season.
October: Orange and Black for Halloween.
November: Orange and Brown for Thanksgiving.
December: Green and Red for Christmas.

Dr Sarah I remember the orthodontist using a wire to wrap around the braces on a few teeth. Way back when we did not have an array of colors but do you still attach the main wire with a thinner wire around the brace? Maybe my teeth were “special” and they needed more encouragement to move! Hi Bridget! There is a still a thinner wire that runs through the brackets, and occasionally on the back teeth, 'bands' will be attach to hold the wire in place, there was also a time not so long ago, when these 'bands' were attached to all the teeth instead of the brackets. The colours are are great fun! Thank you ❤️🤗

Get any dark colors because they make your teeth look white e.g. navy blue, black, dark purple, dark red etc

when you first get braces do you get too choose your colors ? like i’m saying can you have two different colors on top and bottom orr you have to stay with one color cause it’s your first time ?
Yeah, you do but normally it just depends on the dentist bc my old dentist told me I couldn’t get two colors but my new one let me get them.

Whatever colours you wear for clothes will look good. The blues will make your teeth appear whiter

Hey! Orange wouldn't make your teeth look whiter, maybe a little yellower. But if you want to try it, you can always change it next time. There's a fluorescent orange that I think looks really cool! Good luck ❤️

It can vary between orthodontists
Most have these colors but it does depend. Sometimes I’ll ask and they’ll be out of a certain color, it just depends
