In 2001 the TV documentary 'Wingspan' was released, which gave an overview of Paul's early solo career and his adventures with Wings.
In this clip which was an extra on the DVD, Paul tells Mary McCartney what inspired him to record the first Wings album in only two weeks.

the album was sooooo bad that i gave it to the ex husband of my girlfriend after a couple of listens. It was either that or use it as a frisbee in the park. I thought it better to inflict some pain on him with it.
