Nice one, had that exact amp+cab combination for a while, that's proper gear. My complaint about the DSL20, it's a bit loud to play at home so i used a JHS Little Black Amp to bring it down to room volume. While at rehearsal volume it's a bit low on headroom which can be either good or bad. Also you might want to boost it with a Tubescreamer for tight metal. I recently switched to Engl Fireball 25 with Engl 2x12 because i'm basically an Engl guy ever since, but the DSL20 is a good amp offering all the "real tube amp features".
@ Not just that. Marshalls have to be turned up quite a bit until you get some sound, Engl can be turned down until the picking noise is louder than the amp but the sound is still ok-ish. Even the ones without power soak can do that when you have careful fingers.
There's several ways to get rid of the humming sound, first thing t'd try is providing clean power: Power conditioner for the amp, isolated power supply for pedals. If it doesn't work you can look at your guitar isolation, try a DC filter for your pedals or stuff like that. Noise Gate is made to make breakdown riffs tighter, not to get rid of humming noise... that's the last option if you can't fix the actual problem.
@ Also try different cables and different power outlets in your house, try putting the amp in another corner. Finding noise problems can be quite tricky, Turn the guitar off or try a different one and if the noise is still there it's probably not the guitar.
@@blacksyne3902 I mean i'm not an electrician but i guess your guitar is fine, in most cases it's power issues or electromagnetic interference. I have this Digitech Whammy pedal and as soon as i plug it into a power supply my amp starts howling, i would love to use it but with my current setup i can't.
Experiment with mic placement. Use a lot less bass on high gain. Also start to try and use less gain. Use lighter string guage. Increase your guitar action. Ns2 will be necessary till you get sick of insane gain levels.
Ye ye, I'm using less bass when I usually play, but for the review i needed to put everything on noon so you can hear how the amp actually sounds, also i am using fighter gauge string. Thanks for the suggestion!!!!! Ps. I'm not increasing action hahahahaha
awesome video! much better for regular folks than those in depth gear reviews. I enjoyed this format a lot
Thanks man, i try just to be myself and see if something is actually good for the price and not nit-pick some miron details
When you can, turn the gain almost all the way down and turn the volume almost all the way up (its loud) but my god does it roar like a Superlead.

That's sick, i have a revv g3 pedal and i plan to use it as a boost or sum like that
@@blacksyne3902 Not sure if a G3 does the EQ thing of an Overdrive, but certainly worth trying!
And the Fireball 25 has the power soak feature for silent bedroom playing.

Congrats mate! Have a lot of fun :)
Will do!!!!!
