Hi mate great ride, did part of it about 5 weeks ago started from Pooley Bridge must do it your way, on my ebike. You can enjoy going up as well as down at 74 I need all the help I can get.😊
Thanks for sharing the .gpx file, I used it to do this ride yesterday. Christ, that push/carry up to the top of Boredale nearly killed me though. Good job it was a great descent other side. Cheers
The Super Crash Brothers your welcome mate. I will be sharing a trailforks link all the time now as not everyone has Strava premium. I will slowly add the links to previous rides for everyone to enjoy. 👊👊
You just have to look at my videos to see if it’s worth the money. I’d say yes defiantly worth it. I love the thing. New one is out in a month. So the 7 should be cheaper
Hey dude. Great video. We just did this route (posting to our TH-cam tomorrow) but backwards to how you did it. The pay off was sooo much better doing it backwards and the descents were EPIC. We did it on eBikes, and honestly I couldn't imagine doing it on a non eBike. Keep Shredding
Trail-Finder definitely recommend dude. We just posted part 1, which will show you some Gnar from the route. Skiddaw using the Ullock Pike descent is still our favourite route in the lakes, but the fun is in the searching right? 😀
Did the same ride a few years back (I got it off PedalNorth.com). The climb up the Knott is hard. I decided (stupidly as it turns out) to of taking the bridleway down the east shore of Ullswater instead of the suggested route through Boredale / Bordale Hause. The was a big mistake as that shore path is unrideible for long periods (I think the official terminology is "technical in nature". I intend to do it again some day but the way you went. Missed out on the lovely descent from Boredale Hause.
@@TrailFinderYou did make the right choice as I spent a lot more time walking and carrying the bike than riding it. It was made worse by me having a hardtail and not being the best rock garden rider.
Another ride we seem to have done about the same time. We dropped lucky with the weather on Easter weekend and had wall to wall sunshine. Was that traffic cone and men at work sign still up there when you went? Looking forward to watching all these again as winter closes in.
Wouldn’t recommend. The way I did it was very nice. Every ride I do I think about the reverse route. And I remember saying to my self. No. Although. Totally doable.
@@TrailFinder thanks for the reply, nice vid. I’ll be up in June. Last time I was up stopped in bowness and smashed a load of trails all around the Grizdale area some real epic stuff there, some stuff that doesn’t get mentioned much is just brilliant. Anyway my thoughts on the reverse were some of those downs look more rideable up than the hike a bike stuff difficult to see on videos but would any of the hike a bike bits be rideable down? No point I guess if you have to walk down.
Beverley Mtb'rs no my bars are still green. I brought my french trip forward in my timeline to make it more relevant. As I have a 3 month backlog of videos. You would have been watching them in December otherwise. Next video is black bars then it’s green. I actually rode this ride on the 27th may
Guttered... I rode this today, the opposite way round and used the route from pedal North website. Big mistake. Why oh why didn't I download the route from your strava.
I personally find most GPS devices to be inaccurate on both altitude and distance. Basically the polling rate is low to conserve battery hence its a series of waypoints with straight lines between them which will shorten the distance significantly depending on the terrain. You'll notice how it massively underestimates Whinlatter due to lots of tight fast switchbacks. If i take out my Ebike the distance matches the official distance as its measured accurately off wheel rotations of known diameter whereas all my GPS devices are anywhere from 10-25% under the actual distance. So riding my normal bike i know it's not correct distance wise (on the Ebike i can see exactly).. done Rigg Beck and Rannerdale the other week and i know its 22.4 miles.. GPS reckoned 17?. Altitude is simply fundamental errors in measurement.
@@TrailFinder What about distance.. I've not found a GPS that's accurate on anything other than long straight roads for biking... perhaps some have a high polling rate mode?
None are dead accurate. I can ride with a friend that was the 820 like me. With different results at the end. Just been on a local ride tonight. And used both the phone and the Garmin. iPhone miles: 14.44 total ascent: 885ft. Garmin miles: 13.75. Total ascent 781ft. That’s consistent with other rides I’ve done in the past running both devices. I’m not actually 2 bothered if the mileage is out a little. It’s all about the climbing for me. And when that is out I find it highly annoying.
Looking really good on the tops😁👍❤️🇬🇧stay safe and take care
Loved doing this ride last summer, that last bit of hike a bike before the descent into Patterdale is an absolute bastard.
Yeah tough that bit. But what a reward going back down the other side
Hi Andy I walked high street today with my dad and grandad thx for inspiring me to want to do it
Hi Angus. Hope you had a great time. It’s one of my fav rides up high street.

Another great vid
Quality riding bud 🤙🏻 you’ve inspired me to start filming my rides
Beardedvikingmtber awesome mate. I find doing the filming and editing part just as enjoyable as the riding
Trail-Finder just got to get myself a good action cam. I’m using a cheap one at the min so the footage sucks. What camera do you use ?
Ive got the hero 7 black at the moment.
Trail-Finder I’ll have to look into them, are they worth the money ?

When I did it I actually thought it would be good to do it the other way around. Might have to give it ago if you recommend

cracking video m8! anywhere I can download the gpx
Thanks Kevin. Take a look in the description
Nice video, I'm gonna have to get up to the lakes 😎💪
The poetic mtbr it’s a beautiful place to be
the lakes are awesome. the descent at about 7mins 38 is called the cockpit. ive ridden that a few times.. its brilliant up there.

I did think about going the way you did. But really fancied that final descent. I made the right choice as it was great fun

Thoughts on doing that in reverse?

Great to see another ride, noticed you changed the bars again was this due to crash or just not keen?

@@TrailFinder ahhh that makes sense haha I like the green bars lol
Same here. They stand out a lot better in the videos.
What mudguard is that you've got mate? As my small one is bloody useless lol
Looks the same as mine, a mudhugger
Hi. How do I find the Trailforks link?
Jim Dyson in the description
It’s the mughugger with the extension piece fitted

It’s been the same as the recorded ascent of the iphone since I turned auto pause off. That will do for me!

That view @ 0.42.....ouch!!!!
Robert Reid very daunting seeing the climb. But I did it 👊 The rest of it was pushing though
10m.56s Is exactly what I said ;) pmsl
