Panjshir , Afghanistan , part 2 of my quick trip to beautiful Panjshir province , was hard to film much as there was so many checkpoints ! Like more than anywhere ive been . We didnt actually make it to our destination ! I spent too much time interacting with locals along the way , which to me js worth more than any views, although the views here were stunning !! As always the hospitality in Afghanistan is second to none ! Everyone invited us in to their homes .. also the sadness of the woman we picked up hitchhiking with her son to visit her other som who was wounded .. and thanks to Sultan for everything again ! Best travel companion !

@@kolohaksja2260I don’t agree with corrupted warlords who are wish a civil war . The average Afghan is sick and tired from war. Like you mentioned there are different layers and opinions, many panshiri joined the Taliban and are happy about the situation. If warlords try to fight with weapons against the government of course there will be also deaths. Please stop implementing your own thoughts on all panshiri.

    Emma,
First of all, thank you for your visit to Panjshir. That was a bold move, and it requires heart as big as mountain to go that far and picture the life of the Panjshiris. I believe you were en route to Paryan in Panjshir, a picturesque locale bordering the Badakhshan Province. The scenic beauty there is unparalleled, especially as you approach the district's end.
I truly wish you could have made it all the way. Yet, I understand that meaningful interactions and bonds with the locals form a significant aspect of your journeys. It warms my heart knowing you ventured so far.
The denizens of the Panjshir Valley are innately hospitable and welcoming. However, the palpable fear and caution in their demeanor might have been evident to you. The terror the Taliban instills has caused a shift in their openness, especially towards foreigners. Associating with outsiders could label them as informants or spies in the eyes of the Taliban, putting their lives at grave risk. Moreover, the conspicuous absence of youth is a direct consequence of the Taliban's accusations, where being affiliated with resistance groups could mean torture or even death - a horrific reality they now face daily.
The Taliban's distrust of foreigners stems from their own atrocious actions in the past years. They fear exposure from investigative journalists or international observers, leading to their blatant hostility. Your guide, Sultan, as you might have noted, tried to cloak this reality with gentle words in your video. But the ground truth in Panjshir, as you might have discerned, is heartbreakingly different.
    Stay safe,

The whole Afghanistan is imprisoned by
Tal-ns, they don’t have any rights, nor woman nor man.
People don’t have any sources of income, the country is in starvation…
If u live outside of Afghanistan that means that u have been paid by T-ns.

Panjshir Valley is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, towering mountains, lucrative stone mining industry, and the pristine flow of freshwater. The resilient residents of Panjshir are known for their unwavering work ethic, courage, and warm hospitality, despite facing significant poverty. Unfortunately, this poverty has been ruthlessly exploited by influential warlords over the last four decades, who have coerced the young people of Panjshir into joining their terrorist groups in pursuit of power.
For the past 45 years, the Masood family has held the people of Panjshir captive, resulting in the tragic loss of many loved ones among the impoverished families. The Masood deliberately kept the population uneducated and impoverished to manipulate them for political gain. They amassed billions of dollars from emerald mining to support the Shore Nezar and Jamiat terrorist network while ordinary citizens continued to languish in poverty.
During the 1980s, Ahmad Shah Masood established a connection with Russia, receiving millions of dollars in exchange for safeguarding their convoys to reach the southern part of the country. In 1992, Ahmad Shah Masood formed an alliance with the notorious war criminal Abdul Rashid Dostom and the Parcham communist political party, orchestrating the overthrow of Dr. Najibullah's government. This transition plunged the capital into chaos, resulting in the brutal slaughter of over 70,000 innocent people and the forced displacement of millions to neighboring countries. Masood fueled divisions among various ethnic groups and mercilessly targeted the Hazara, Uzbik, and Pashtoon communities. Educational institutions, including schools and universities, were shuttered during Masood's oppressive regime.
Fast forward to the Karzai and Ghani government era, the Masood family and the Shore Nezar terrorist network continued to wield significant power, often challenging the authority of Kazai and Ghani's government. They even resorted to firing upon Ghani's portrait in the city. The Masood family engaged in activities such as land usurpation, drug trafficking, kidnappings, bombings, and disturbing public safety.
Under various pretexts, the Masood family manipulated the people of Panjshir. During the Soviet Union invasion, Masood manipulated the narrative by portraying it as a defense of Islam against the alleged Kafir invasion, urging young men to join his cause. Similarly, during the civil war, Masood fueled animosity by falsely claiming that the Pashtoon had held power for the past 300 years and that the Hazaras and Uzbik were inferior. Now, Masood's son, Ahmad Masood, continues the legacy by recruiting young men to support his vision of creating Khurasan and announcing an alliance with ISIS Khurasan.

@@AhmadAli-ez8db I saw a video once online showing these people firing on a huge picture of then President Ghani in Kabul! I thought it was so crazy. It would be like people in the US going to Washington D.C. and firing on a huge mural/painting of Trump or Biden. That's crazy. And Prez Ghani couldn't do anything about it. Also, the video showed how the men had large convoys of armed men driving in Kabul aimlessly firing their weapons bc they were celebrating Massud and the ppl of Kabul were scared bc some child was accidentally killed and others were injured by these celebratory shootings. Again, Prez Ghani was not able to stop these ppl bc they had their own militias or something. I wish I could find the video again and post it here for ppl to see history. It was bizarre seeing it for someone who lives in the US.

    Couple of wee questions Emma
    How did you find sultan?
Are there English speaking driver/guides there if ye just travel over?

    • @WanderingEmma
      @WanderingEmma  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

I found Sultan randomly in a restaurant and we just became friends and helped me , he was not a guide then …. Yes there are many English speaking guides and drivers , most guides speak English… usually you can go like I did with no plans and in the hotel your likely to meet others , I met a few bikers in my hotel when I was in Kabul last year and they all exchanged experiences and tips and shared guides at times , but you don’t need a guide …
