- There is no machining in this video. Instead I do a lot of nitpicking.
At some point the measuring of the top slide escalates into replacing the worn nut inside the top slide.
An Austrian fellow, Dieter, sent me a parcel that contains a sine bar that was made especially for setting the top slide in accutrate angles.
This lathe compound "Sine Bar" was made by Jim in a company Tangent Engineering which is located behind the pond, in the USA, Massachusetts.
I do a, hopefully unbiased, product review for this tool.
In this video I use:
- Weiler Matador SV (1972) Lathe
- Schaublin SV-51 (1955) Milling machine

The video is spoken in Finnish but it has good quality hand written subtitles in English, German and Finnish. -
Kiitos Esko, taas mahtava video.Näitä juttuja ei varmasti amiksessa nykyään opeteta.Jatka samaan malliin.
Finno - Allow me to respond to your tool review . The Body of the Sine Bar is made of Steel - Stress Relieved Steel
Stress relieving will keep the Sine Bar stable - no stresses to allow it t move in any direction . The Pins are hard - they
are standard dowel pins. RC 60 + . Thank you for a great review. -- Jim
good video finno Ugric
You speak more German than I speak Finnish ;-)
I was working in a German bank in Frankfurt for 3 years.
