Add me to the crowd who wants you to react to the movie “Pure Country” that these clips came from. George is Dusty, who has become the fire, strobes, fireworks, crashing guitars, etc. He takes off to find himself and that’s what Grandma gives him. Back to old school country - check it out.
There was a moment where George Straight, Clint Black. Garth Brooks, Vince Gill and Randy Travis ruled the charts. Even rock & pop fans were aware of their work.
I think I met him back in 1974 or 1975 at Ft Polk, La. I recall a young soldier who had performed for soldiers and officers. The General took him to the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii. I have been trying to determine if I met young George. I am 72 next month. So we are the same age.
The last movie I watched while I sat in my mom's room before she passed was Pure Country. The song 'I Cross My Heart" will always hold a special place in my heart and the last memory of my mom. ❤
This was also my wife and i wedding song. We have 5 years under our belt and we are still going strong. We went back and fourth between this song and another George strait song. Called clear blue sky, not a traditional wedding song but fit our story almost perfect.
Right on my friend very cool. Obviously George Strait has performed this song many times throughout his music career. Yet the most important time for George was the night he sang it to his wife in concert on there 50th wedding anniversary. Just saying...
I love his voice, and of course his face. He has so many great songs. Carrying Your Love With Me, Check Yes or No, Write This Down, Ocean Front Property, and I Can Still Make Cheyenne are some of my favorites. He has over 50 #1 hits.
I agree Mr Strait is the King of Country today. There is not one singer today that can compete with him. His song writers write just for him, cowboy hats off to them. I am always a listener of classic country most my life, he is today’s match. Thanks
Did anyone notice when George Strait sung there lyrics "You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete", Jay looked over at Amber and smiled?
This was George Straits first movie. The movie is called Pure Country. If you haven’t seen it you should watch it on your own or it could be one of your reactions. It’s a lovely film.

Yes, the scenes in the video were from a movie that George Strait starred in and that featured this song. Also in the video you can see Lesley Ann Warren who was my Cinderella when I was a wee pup and was terrific in the movie Victor Victoria which you would love.
How apropos; George Strait just turned 72 years old yesterday! His 31st studio album, titled Cowboys and Dreamers, will be coming out September 6, 2024, and it features a collaboration with Chris Stapleton titled “Honky Tonk Hall of Fame.”

There isn’t an emotion that can be evoked, that George Strait doesn’t have a song for , from New Love to Heartbreak. He songs are a journey through your heart
We love our King George ❤️ His birthday was yesterday, so pretty perfect timing reacting to this video. Please add Pure Country to your movie reaction list. You won't be disappointed
I'm not really a Country Music fan, but I love the movie Pure Country from which this song came from and it's soundtrack. I also think George Strait has a great voice. I have a copy of the movie on DVD and have watched it many times. I think you would enjoy it.
I Cross My Heart is somewhere in the top....no joke....THREE picks for wedding dance songs. It was my parents song. Not at their wedding....the song came years later but thats how FANTASTIC George is. The movie this came from was a decent flick called Pure Country starring George. Its the very first movie I ever saw in a theater. I went with my Mom and Dad. I think I was 4.
This has been mine and my husbands song for 30 years now. He sang it in my ear one night as we were dancing on a date. George's character was named Dusty in the movie (Pure Country). We named our first dog Dusty after his character.
One of the best!!! The movie was really sweet. What I found interesting when that movie came out was the fact that George told the director that he would not kiss the leading lady. He loves his wife so much that he refused to kiss another woman. That made me like him even more. So if you watch the movie you will see that he never kissed the leading lady, he did hug her though.
The "Pure Country" soundtrack is full of great songs, all George Strait. Including this song, Heartland, Baby Your Baby, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Last in Love. Check em all out!
I sang this at many weddings in the early 90's. Ive always calles it the wedding song of that decade. An absolutely beautiful written lyric and performance.
Such a beautiful song. I love George, so talented. My husband and I were married 49 years. There were many good times and many bad times. But, there was always our love for each other. Sadly, he passed away 2 years ago. My heart breaks every day, I miss him so much.
I read there was a kissing scene in the movie. Her refused to kiss the girl as he felt it would be disrespectful to his wife,so he just hugged her. He recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary and sag this song to his wife on stage.
Not the person/couple that Amber referenced, but this song was also the wedding song for my wife and I. We will be celebrating 23 years this July, and this song is still as meaningful to us now as it was on that day. Thanks for the reaction video!
You guys should really check out Marty Stuart. He's been around awhile (played with veterans like Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash). You could check out some of his songs like Hillbilly Rock, Western Girls, Little Things, Going, Going, Gone, Burn Me Down, Tempted, Time Don't Wait and a couple with Travis Tritt, The Whiskey Ain't Workin' and Honky Tonkin's What I Do Best.
This is definitely from the movie Pure Country. Also, a very sweet factoid about that movie is that George refused to do any love scenes or kissing in the movie, even though at it's core the movie is a "love story". George felt that by doing anything physical, it would be disrespectful to his real-life wife. That's class right there! 🥰

Yes, I want to see Amber’s reaction to when “Dusty” sings this song at the end of the movie. This music video didn’t include the sweetest moment.
It's a great movie!!!

The video shows clips from the movie Pure Country . That's why he has Dusty on his jacket. His character
That movie didn’t make it big but is my favorite movie of all time.

I'm not a massive country fan, but I don't think I've ever met anyone that didn't like George Strait.
Ditto, and I'd add Randy Travis..
@@rwschumm definitely Randy Travis as well.
I’m a “metal head”, but I’ve grown to appreciate real country music like George and Alabama.
George is a true cowboy on top of being a country singer. Even though he has never won; he has competed in team roping events.
This is from Pure Country. George starred in it with Leslie Ann Warren. Great suggestion for a movie reaction.
I cant ever remember her name.
Never mind Leslie, the female star of the show was Elisabeth Shue.
The younger love interest was played by Isabel Glasser. Elizabeth Shue was not in Pure Country
@@6916dog Absolutely right - I got my beautiful women confused. Shue was in Cocktail. Glasser in Country. Will try to keep sorted...

There was a moment where George Straight, Clint Black. Garth Brooks, Vince Gill and Randy Travis ruled the charts. Even rock & pop fans were aware of their work.
That's the country music I grew up on.
90s country was freaking amazing
And there was one year that Neal McCoy beat them all for Entertainer of the Year.. which was the biggest upset of all time.
Don't forget Tracy Lawrence!
Truer words were never more spoken. I'd be remissed if I didn't add Alan Jackson to the 90's elite.
