You gitta,admit Zabuza and Team 7 had no reason to fight after his employer backstabbed him. Zabuza only fought them as a job, so them stopping made sense. Kakashi also knows loss first hsnd, and more then once. So of all people he could respect their bond as comrades, but also father and son. Zabuza needing to be in this role of killer was also largely to how the village raises killers by enforcing them to kill or be killed as children. Haku growing on him is actually shown when he goes out of his way to get a pet for him. So him feeling great hurt inside is ovetshadowed by the drilled in philosophy of the hidden mist. Naruto repeating what he tries hard not to thinn off however realisticly gets him still. And Kakashi once again makes sure his Team lets him deal with the Traitors. Then honors them by putting them next to each other. This werent villans. Just fellow Shinobi hired by the opposition. So this is one instance where talk no jutsu was just reminding a brainwashed father that his adopted kid loved him so much he died for him. And that cuts deeper then any blade. Sadly in shippuden logic and belivable reactions went out the window.
Like everybody said the last moments of this arc, are to this day one of the best moments in Naruto. The emotions are raw and they hit hard, when they are unexpectedly unveiled.
100% agreed. I think this is the 1st anime that the villains from the very first arc are still held in such high regard throughout the fsnbase (not counting Vageta as he ends up being a recurring character). So many villains have come and go throughout Naruto and the story of Zabuza and Haku still hits hard every time

I know Kakashi is always showed as Mr. badass and I love that part of him. But the scene when he carries Zabuza and take him next to Haku....shit. He won my heart since that moment, he is an extraordinary character ❤
Before Zabuza killed Gato, he wouldn't have done that as Kakashi views those who disrespect their own comrades as the lowest form of filth. But Zabuza had earned his respect in the end.

The last episode of this arc was my first introduction to Naruto, and I remember crying like a baby and not even knowing anything about these characters but it just hit that hard. You're seriously gonna enjoy the rest of this series!!
1:59:05 I will never forget the first time I watched that scene! I was 13 or 14 then and was watching it dubbed at 2 in the night, having just binged the last 5-7 episodes, and I was BAWLING my eyes out hearing Naruto's speech.
I LOVE that Naruto is finally getting some credit for how amazing it is. The main story is top tier shonen. The best of the best. Yeah, it falls into filler hell, but on a re-watch you can skip the filler.

This arc was the show funbling and stunmbling onto the raw potential that it had. Its unrefined but it showed glimpses of what it could be. It begins to really find its footing in the chunin arc and then progressively gets better and better.
To me at least, first 20 or so episodes of Naruto were by far the best the show ever got. There were only few random scattered moments throughout the years that followed that reached anywhere close to the first few episodes.

Land of waves is incredible. And ep 19 is the highlight of this arc . To this day after 14 years i still cry to this episode. God bless Toshiyuki Tsuru for directing this timeless masterpiece.
These episodes here are what introduced me to Naruto one fateful Saturday morning back in 2012 airing on TV between 9 & 12 when I still was just about to start High School (which is 8th grade in my country) 11 years later and I still cry when rewatching it.

Yeah, Zabuza was never really a good person. He had no issue killing others. But he was still human. He actually did care for Haku. You can even see it in their flashbacks. If Haku was just a weapon, I don't think Zabuza would be patting him on the head like we see him doing.

The land of waves arc showed me this show can use its power system in an interesting way, without hampering the storytelling and it hits just right as an opening arc to get people invested.
Ngl Naruto is and will always be the King of Shounen (at least for me). Bleach is amazing too, and One Piece might still be going strong after like 2 Decades, but they just don't have those amazing Characters and actual deep Motivations, not even mentioning the literally perfect OST. The Straw Hats just "wAnT tO bE tHe BeSt AnD bE fReE", Ichigo literally just wants to save People and won't let anything regarding his Friends slide, that shit doesn't compare to Narutos' upbringing/Childhood, the Fate of the Uchiha Clan, People like Rock Lee and topics like actual War and the bloody Life of a Shinobi in general. Naruto has Characters with Trauma and real Motivation, it stands atop the "Big 3" even to this day ! I obviously love Bleach, One Piece and many other Shounen that came out in recent years, but if i had to pick ONE with a Gun to my head - that's Naruto without question or hesitation xD

There is a bridge called "Ōnaruto Bridge - 大鳴門橋" which is known for whirpool in the sea in Japan and It is said that "Great Naruto bride - ナルト大橋" is a motif of this bridge. I think that's why Inari's grandpa named the bride after Naruto:)

I always used to think it was lame that they named the bridge after Naruto, but later I learned that it's actually based on a real bridge in Naruto, Japan. In fact, that's where Naruto gets his first and last name; Uzumaki means spiral/whirlpool and is a reference to the eddies that form under the Ōnaruto Bridge!

The big 3 does all deserve a uncensored remaster with good pacing and no fillers. All three shows could easily be remade into less than 200 episodes if the pacing is good.

Naruto is good cause unlike most shonen anime, there really is death. It makes the stakes feel more real. That and there's maybe 3 characters in the whole show I ever actually hated? Kishimoto did an excellent job with his world building.

Akin to when netflix first came around and uploaded the entire season to binge watch at once. I get it, it'll take longer per upload, but it avoids the same problem as the 12 year olds you mentioned having to watch 12 minutes of recap of last week and then 7 minutes of episode and having to wait a whole week. It reminds me of DBZ. Goku vs Frieza! Say.. episode 100 is titled "5 minutes left until namek explodes!"... well, episode 115 is titled, "only 45 seconds left til namek explodes!" and even my 12 year old brain was thinking that they would have to be talking in hyperspeed to accomplish such a feat. this arc is flat out the best of the entire series, better then every shippuden arc, even though shippuden is generally the better series. this arc just really encapsulates the beauty of naruto perfectly. and the resolution being more then just the "good guys win" is a nice touch. people complain about talk no jutsu(naruto spends more time talking then fighting so its kind of a fan-term to describe narutos obsession with talking to enemies rather then fighting), but i really think thats one of narutos strengths as a series. the raw emotion prior and after the fight scenes really amplifies the fight when you actually understand the villains motives and they become more then just an obstacle for the protagonist. and seeing the small cracks in the villains shells as you see a tiny bit of good within them come out is always nice to see. and its not like the fights are lacking, the fights are still great imo.

Naruto couldn't have had a better start than this arc
The land of waves arc showed me this show can use its power system in an interesting way, without hampering the storytelling and it hits just right as an opening arc to get people invested.
Ngl Naruto is and will always be the King of Shounen (at least for me). Bleach is amazing too, and One Piece might still be going strong after like 2 Decades, but they just don't have those amazing Characters and actual deep Motivations, not even mentioning the literally perfect OST. The Straw Hats just "wAnT tO bE tHe BeSt AnD bE fReE", Ichigo literally just wants to save People and won't let anything regarding his Friends slide, that shit doesn't compare to Narutos' upbringing/Childhood, the Fate of the Uchiha Clan, People like Rock Lee and topics like actual War and the bloody Life of a Shinobi in general. Naruto has Characters with Trauma and real Motivation, it stands atop the "Big 3" even to this day ! I obviously love Bleach, One Piece and many other Shounen that came out in recent years, but if i had to pick ONE with a Gun to my head - that's Naruto without question or hesitation xD

There is a bridge called "Ōnaruto Bridge - 大鳴門橋" which is known for whirpool in the sea in Japan and It is said that "Great Naruto bride - ナルト大橋" is a motif of this bridge. I think that's why Inari's grandpa named the bride after Naruto:)

I always used to think it was lame that they named the bridge after Naruto, but later I learned that it's actually based on a real bridge in Naruto, Japan. In fact, that's where Naruto gets his first and last name; Uzumaki means spiral/whirlpool and is a reference to the eddies that form under the Ōnaruto Bridge!

The big 3 does all deserve a uncensored remaster with good pacing and no fillers.
All three shows could easily be remade into less than 200 episodes if the pacing is good.

Naruto is good cause unlike most shonen anime, there really is death. It makes the stakes feel more real. That and there's maybe 3 characters in the whole show I ever actually hated? Kishimoto did an excellent job with his world building.

You sir, are a genius. More youtubers should copy you. This is how an anime should be watched/uploaded. Per arc. Akin to when netflix first came around and uploaded the entire season to binge watch at once. I get it, it'll take longer per upload, but it avoids the same problem as the 12 year olds you mentioned having to watch 12 minutes of recap of last week and then 7 minutes of episode and having to wait a whole week. It reminds me of DBZ. Goku vs Frieza! Say.. episode 100 is titled "5 minutes left until namek explodes!"... well, episode 115 is titled, "only 45 seconds left til namek explodes!" and even my 12 year old brain was thinking that they would have to be talking in hyperspeed to accomplish such a feat.

this arc is flat out the best of the entire series, better then every shippuden arc, even though shippuden is generally the better series. this arc just really encapsulates the beauty of naruto perfectly. and the resolution being more then just the "good guys win" is a nice touch.
people complain about talk no jutsu(naruto spends more time talking then fighting so its kind of a fan-term to describe narutos obsession with talking to enemies rather then fighting), but i really think thats one of narutos strengths as a series. the raw emotion prior and after the fight scenes really amplifies the fight when you actually understand the villains motives and they become more then just an obstacle for the protagonist. and seeing the small cracks in the villains shells as you see a tiny bit of good within them come out is always nice to see. and its not like the fights are lacking, the fights are still great imo.
