KEEP IN MIND: healing is not linear. some days, you will feel like you've fully moved on then the next day all the pain will come flowing back. that is NORMAL. even when you feel like you're back to square one, you're not. relapsing IS a sign of healing, it is a sign of progress. you're doing great and i'm proud of you. you keep going 🤍

    1. You allow yourself to feel your emotions. 2. You're getting better at expressing and maintaining boundaries. 3. You accept that you've been through difficult experiences. 4. You're less reactive and more responsive. 5. You realise that healing is not linear. 6. You begin to step out of your comfort zone. 7. You easily accept disappointments and take them in stride. 8. You have more inner peace. 9. You welcome help and support.

Help and support are silly a lot of the times. Circumstances are upsetting sometimes. The only way to stop the upset is for circumstances to get better.
Also, some people are absolutely useless and harmful as helpers. I've looked for help before, professional and not. All useless. I'm better at research on my own.

UPDATE- I NEVER thought my little comment gained so much response, thank you to each and everyone who offered support-I am slowly coming back to life after a very long heartbreak from a breakup. I am grateful people still have humanity!
Growing up unloved and then entering toxic relationship after another caused me to finally break..I left someone who completely destroyed my trust and esteem.. I'm slowly working to really discover who I am and how strong I am alone

Sometimes, people mean well and say the right things; but then, they tend to erase the positive by ending it with the wrong choice of words: "who was probably quite a bit luckier than you when being born" is a good example.

@@angeec.3312 I mean that I can’t really imagine how it feels and doesn’t want to lie, telling people that I do. I was lucky to be born into a family where my parents love me even though they’re narcissists and put both me and my brother through the emotional ringer. I still had a family, like my grandma and I was lucky enough to be born with no fear with conversation which helped me make friend very quickly wherever I went.

@@angeec.3312 i don’t know if the person is an orphan or not but it sounds like they don’t have any contact with their parents in any case. I’m sorry if my comment doesn’t work in English. English is not my native language. In my language, saying that you were luckier doesn’t mean you were better in any way, it means that you had more luck with circumstances out of your control. Thus saying that you wish that the other person would have had more luck.

8: You have more inner peace.
9: You welcome help and support
    (From the right people..)
I did, relate to ALL of 9 especially #9 because I felt shame and belittled for even asking for help. I never understood why parents get jealous of their children: they may deny it or hide it but it still shows and it’s sad.

Perhaps not all parents, and perhaps some people who're parents haven't healed from their own emotional wounds. Not saying to accept toxic behavior, but recognize it and do your best with your boundaries + maintain a good relationship with them. Seek counsel from trusted people and maybe even a therapist if they're available. Parents are also people; they're human, and like any human they have weaknesses. They may have a deeper rooted sense of shame in seeking help because of their upbringing/culture. May everyone who's going through difficulties find their ease near 🤲🕊️

I think it would help to look at:
      - the background where you come from. What kind of parenting style is prevalent where you live. Some cultures are very strict amd controlling with children.
      - is it the same gender parent who is jealous, or the opposite gender. Is there a reason for that. You probably know the reason already.
      - there is usually fear, envy, and even admiration hidden behind jealousies. Are you parents impressed that you accomplished more than them?, but feel that this accomplishment might make you too independent? Are they scared that your thoughts might pull you away? what are they jealous of exactly? and why. Are they jealous that you like your friends more than them?
Usually, for me, if things get too difficult, I try to behave like I would at work: formal, neutral, respectful. Like, if your boss at work was jealous of you, how would you behave to enjoy ur job and accomplish what you want?
I don't know if this helps.
      Good luck.

I know that I am getting stronger, but sometimes that creates cognitive dissonance, that maybe that strength is just numbness. This really reaffirmed the progress I’ve made. I never had any of the skills or traits before, but can finally see them forming in myself. I’m grateful for therapy, my loved ones, and lastly, my self. You’re an amazing person the way you are, no one can take that from you. There is no such thing as a “perfect” you, even if you find yourself believing that a certain you was the best you before the experience that “broke” you, it’s not true. You are who you are, and you are perfect the way you are, even now. Being strong can mean you show weakness, and being weak can mean you hide your struggle. I lived through all the signs in my order. I lived a early life of mental abuse and with the PTSD and having dyslexia. I went through all the repercussion with feelings of abandonment, sadness, loneliness, anger, hatred. When you stop listening to your mind but instead listen to your heart you will find a way to fight and lead yourself to healing. I found having my mind and heart working together I was able to connect the triggers and guide myself through the healing. It takes a lot of acceptance I think this for me is how I managed through it.

Please understand that Jesus loves you more than you can possibly know. True peace can only come from knowing Him. The most important decision you will ever make is where you will spend eternity. The Bible says that you can know that you have eternal life in heaven, but If you are putting your trust in anything other than the finished work of Jesus on the cross to get you to heaven, you do not understand God's way. Please let me share with you how you can know you have a home in heaven.
The Bible says that we are all sinners. When God created Adam and Eve, He made them perfect without sin, but they chose to disobey God and became sinful in nature. This sin nature was passed down to all humanity.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Your sin separates you from God.
      Romans 3:23 For all have sinned (yes, you too) and come short of the glory of God;
A holy, righteous God cannot allow sin into heaven. Sin must be paid for and God's price for sin is death, but not just a physical death, but a spiritual death which means separation from God forever in hell.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
In the Old Testament when man sinned, God required the sacrifice of a perfectly spotless lamb as a substitute in the place of the sinner. The blood of that lamb was only a temporary payment for their sin and so this had to be done often. Jesus Christ, God's Son took on flesh, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and offered Himself as that perfect, spotless Lamb and shed His blood as payment for the sins of the whole world.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Jesus loved you so much He WILLINGLY came and allowed wicked men to spit on Him, mock Him and scourge Him until He was unrecognizable. They stripped him naked, thrust a crown of thorns on His head and nailed His hands and feet to a cross. He hung in agony for hours bleeding, thirsting, struggling for every breath. He died innocently in your place so that you could be saved from going to hell. It was His blood that satisfied the just demands of a holy God. God will not accept anything else.
There is no greater love than that!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever (that means you) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The good news is that Jesus didn't stay dead in the grave. He came back to life 3 days later just like He promised and He still lives today!
Matthew 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
      6. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Friend, Jesus did all this because He wants to give you the FREE gift of eternal life in heaven with Him!
You cannot do anything to earn your own way into heaven. You can't work for it, be baptized for it, go to church for it or try to be good enough for it. It is a FREE gift that God is offering to you if you will simply receive it by faith.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
      9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.
God said there is only one way to get to heaven, but it is not hard. You must admit you are a sinner headed for hell. You must believe that Jesus died and paid for your sin with His own blood on the cross, was buried and 3 days later rose from the dead. Then you must repent of your sins and call on God for mercy to save you from hell and give you eternal life in heaven with Him.
Romans 10:9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
      13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
None of us deserve God's mercy and grace, but let me warn you friend, that if you reject His FREE gift, you are already condemned and when you die, you will suffer the torment of burning in hell for eternity in a lake of fire where you will be forever separated from God and all that is loving and good.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Please don't wait! Don't take the risk of putting it off until another day, repent, turn to Christ NOW wherever you are at because you aren't guaranteed to live another day on this Earth. Believe God's Word, ask Him to save you and He will! I would love to meet you in heaven someday. Get your name written down in the Lambs Book of Life. God bless you!

There’s the obvious ones like death of a loved one, losing a job, divorce or broken relationship. And there’s so many more like, loss of innocence, loss of a dream, loss of freedom, etc. Also, for me as a Christ follower, asking for and accepting Christ’s forgiveness has been a necessary and humbling experience.

Depression that took my self control, worthiness, and confidence. I've been going through my own emotional healing experience for almost two years at this point. After watching this video, I was able to relate to many of the symptoms that were described in it. And, I completely agree, it was extremely uncomfortable.
There are still times when I realize that I'm healing and it feels really weird, especially as I'm starting to move towards "normal life" stuff. But every time I experience those moments, I realize that my emotions are mending themselves and that those emotions (or sometimes lack of them) are momentary.
It's never easy, especially when those pains might've been caused by someone else, but that doesn't mean hope is lost. Sometimes, those people who feel the bitterest of sorrows are the ones who also feel the greatest of joys when they shine.

It’s definitely a pleasing experience to finally have inner peace with yourself…. People try to enter in more conversation and in depth conversations when you are healed. I didn’t realize how much being vulnerable was difficult for me. There’s SO much I have not processed since childhood cause I’ve been convinced that certain things don’t bother me, they don’t weigh on me, yet as I get older my anxiety, inability to voice me emotions properly are taking over. I’m terrified of going to a therapist but I know I definitely need to. Self therapy has only gotten me so far. Therapy is a gift that you can give to yourself. It's the greatest gift I've ever given myself on my healing journey. Do it for the younger version of you who doesn't have as much context or wisdom to understand. She needs someone to be there for her and show her the way out. Your therapist will hold your hand and lead the way as you comfort that part of you. Truly, but find someone who you really click with. I had a not so great therapist at first but my current therapist is AMAZING! She has helped me to see myself and my trauma responses with compassion and to realize it's OK for me to love and honor myself enough to recognize and ask for what I need, to say no even even it might upset others, and to really be a safe place for myself, even when the world wants to view me in a negative light. She's really helped me to unravel my tangled story and see it from a safe place of truth and self compassion. Whatever happened to you is not your fault and you deserve to live a life of beauty, true peace and joy, knowing who you truly are at your core, not what trauma has made you think you are. It's a long road, but at least having a hand to hold of someone who you can trust makes it so much easier! If money is an issue, there's actually a lot of resources that offer free therapy to trauma survivors. Start with calling the national domestic violence Hotline or the national suicide Hotline and see if they can link you with local resources. Take care of yourself! You're doing a great job and you should be proud that you've even made it this far. You're strong! You're a survivor! 💪

I can relate to what you say. I gaslit myself, had no compassion for myself and my inner voice was unkind to myself. All of this because that's how I was treated by my parents and other family members, years of abuse and neglect. I've started therapy a few months ago. Yes, it is scary, but I realize now that you have to feel it to heal it. I so badly don't want to be this person, but it is who I am. I am slowly learning to accept and integrate all of those experiences and connect more to my true feelings. I hope things have gotten better for you. It is scary opening up, but worth it. The other side is more internal peace, which is what I have so desperately longed for. Be well.

The healing process is full of twists and turns. I’ve relapsed from unhealthy codependent dating and family relationship behavior a few handfuls of times since my healing journey started on February of this year. 🎉 my Sober birthday is May 14th, 2022 and its been one heck of a ride.
But I wouldn’t trade the pain for anything although you wish it could just be smooth after ditching the horrible boundaries and insecure patterns that reenforce low self esteem.
Since healing I may not look like a victor if I told you what I’ve been through. I’ve been dragged through the mud with the idol of trying to keep a man in my life to appreciate me, but I know now at this high point of healing and singleness I am victorious thanks to Jesus Christ and thanks to the support hes placed around me 🙏🏾

      Romans 3:23 For all have sinned (yes, you too) and come short of the glory of God;

@Random Idiocy 1) Study yourself: find your external and internal peculiarities, insecurities, small habits, specific reactions, what you are good at, what your "weaknesses" are - think about the reasons, the origin, the timing when it appeared without evaluation, with neutral curiosity of the researcher...
The more you notice, the more you understand how unique and interesting you are.
The more you understand the origins, the more you accept and value different sides of you.
We do not love people for some certain features or for being ideal - all of that can cause short-term adoration or respect, not love.
Instead, deeper knowledge of the person, their imperfections create the feelings of understanding and intimacy - necessary ingredients for growing profound and life-long love :)
      2) Start to treat yourself as you would treat someone you already love: give support instead of brutal criticizing, be attentive to your needs, be gentle to your feelings, make presents to yourself, protect yourself as number 1 priority when necessary, etc.
Once you start you will notice interesting changes: your self-perception will become more wholesome and stable, your recent complaints towards youself will start to vanish, self-understanding will grow, etc.
      3) Its not a one time action, you will heal relations with yourself gradually, step by step. I am sure that it is the most grateful time investment in one's life.
Once you find out that you do not do all these things consciously any more, but it is your instinct and pleasure to be patient and caring with the one you sincerely love.

I used to have months of ups and months of downs, over and over throughout the course of years. My teens were the most critical, daily anxiety attacks and low self-esteem took the best out of me. I am in my mid 20s now, and I am starting to find a sense of balance and peace. Life will never be exactly how I pictured it, but it'll probably never be worst case scenario either. I am living slow, valuing my self-care and only do what I find valuable in life. It took a lot of tears and pain to heal, but I am happy I got awareness of my trauma early in life. My goal is to be the most down to earth, calm 30-year-old ever.

I'm happy to say that I'm on that journey and I'm able to self regulate my emotions and respond better in situations I used to be very afraid and defensive of, not perfect sometimes and would fall back into my old ways of coping with stress and haunting events, but I know that healing is a constant journey, so long as I keep doing it and give myself patience and understanding whenever I slip up, it's probably the ultimate form of self love, to nurture yourself and care for yourself in spite of life's challenges. I'm proud of how far I've come, and I'll make sure I continue healing until one day I feel deep inner peace.

Being married really opened a whole new process of healing for me. I come from a horrifically violent home from which I ran away as soon as I turned 18.
I had no idea just how much hurt and burden I was carrying around on a daily basis. I had a very cynical view of the world, and I was always on the edge, ready to get on the attack mode. The thing is, I thought this was the way everyone lived. This was the only reality I ever knew.
Then my wife came along, and she is a very emotionally conscious person. She saw almost immediately into my subconsciousness and the unbelievable amount of cPTSD built up inside. When she first tried to help, she was met with aggression, hostility, and anger. This really hurt her, but she never gave up.
I have now regular psychiatric consultations and have been working toward healing for several years. My goodness, was it uncomfortable, and how it still is! But I am now at the stage of being able to thinking through my emotions, even view them from the third person's POV, and formulating them into words - both positive and negative emotions. I still have a very hard time allowing myself to feel, but I damn sure am better than I used to be.
I really thank my wife for bringing me out of the darkness.

Not feeling is almost like an autoimmune response.
Does it make sense/help if I say feeling (and still braving through/doing the right things) is what makes you brave and strong, not feeling does not make you brave?
Given, getting through any of that kind of ordeal is not something ordinary people deserve.
The human mind is enigmatic and too much self reflection can screw with your mind a bit (in regards to what's healthy).
There's so many ways one given thing can go...
The most important part is that you're doing the effort, and that your significant other is a good human being, and that both of you are getting results and your generous/cognizant compliments towards her.
      TTT, things take time
Set goals but be patient and lenient
Try not project too much (I do this too often)
Best of luck to you on your journey through the land of Life

"The feeling of today will not match the feelings of tomorrow or even later on" 👏🏻
Going through ups and downs and allowing oneself to express the emotions that run through the body, appears sometimes to others that is a rollercoaster of mood swings uncomfortable to witness... They may judge and say "You have so many mood swings", and by judging, they close the doors to comprehending and connecting with vulnerability.
But life is really not about pleasing others, it's not about being accepted by everyone, I feel it is about being oneself, healing, discovering abilities, sharing, inspiring and becoming who we are meant to be to our souls, not to the judgments of society.

I decided to park to have a cigarette parked in the very same lake I had my first tele session of physiotherapy about 3 years ago listening to the signs and realizing that I ve come a long way, yes in the middle of a lot of pain and suffering also gone through alot of letting go of people that I thought were meaningful and a romantic relationship that brought me to my knees humbly accepting all of these losses but gaining myself it is a struggle, it is a constant battle but a battle that is completely worth fighting for, if you are in this journey as well know that it is difficult and painful but it is possible to come out on the other side with your power to be completely you and find your real happiness and contentment. God bless you stay in the fight 💚

There was a point in my life where I desperately felt a need of treatment for my depression because I don't want to stay in that lowpoint of my life anymore. But external treatment has never been available and accessible for me hence, I knew I have to heal on my own and fight for healing silently.
I still am doubtful of my progress until I heard this. Thus, I now better understand myself and is sure that I am succeeding in achieving internal healing.

      Romans 3:23 For all have sinned (yes, you too) and come short of the glory of God;

@@deirdrekussmaul2076 Please understand that Jesus loves you more than you can possibly know.

    Thank you Psych2Go 💖
I can definitely relate to these signs. I think the biggest one that got me is that healing is not linear. There are days I've come to realizations that made me more sure and confident about realities I had questioned due to gas lighting and other such forms of manipulation tendencies from someone close to me. Then other days, all I could think about is how much it hurt to remember all the mistakes I made and how I questioned my gut feeling and what was in plain sight and how it all backfired. Then there have been days I'm just angry. Days I was more ok and felt like I found more of who I am.
It has definitely been a rollercoaster and there's SO much more that I've experienced than what I just said but I'm happy to know I'm getting somewhere since I found these signs so relatable. It's nice to have them stated and explained.

It’s two steps forwards and one step back for me but I’m not who I was three years ago. It’s a slow process but I’m moving forward. Inner peace is my main goal in life. 🙂

Inner peace is the best goal 👍🏽.After my battle with being emotionally abandoned by everyone that lead to anxiety and depression, I started saying no to negativity.People pulling down others, over their makeup,clothes,careers...I never had time for that but now its a complete no no.My own family revels a lot in spreading negativity so I limited my exposure to them.Just one goal..inner peace.

We had a major breakthrough in therapy which resulted in a 6 week depression streak. But since that I feel so free and happy. My energy still needs its time to increase but I'm super thankful. 😊 My mom never loved me and will never love me as a person. That's shitty and shouldn't have happen but it happend and it's okay. I don't need her the way she is and I can't change her. I don't need for her to wait. I am allowed to cut contact and go on with my life. I have so many wonderful friends and they are my true family. I don't have to forgive my mother but I can leave my anger and sadness with her where they truly belong. My mission now is to heal my inner child. To experience to beauty of life and the hopefulness of the future. I'm proud of the person I've become. 😊

7:13 out of the whole video and this entire part made me tear up. I haven't cried or even had a proper breakdown in months since I've started healing. I'm at a point where healing is becoming uncomfortable and I hit a pit stop. Thank you for making this video even if it's not a popular request.

About six years ago, I painfully ripped my attachments to unhealthy relationships away… Abruptly and clumsily, not a recommended way to do it lol. isolated and began taking inventory, worked on my financial and personal independence, regained some of my lost skills in art, and gave myself space to make mistakes. then I began practicing more kindness and forgiveness because I now have the energy while I am not in survival mode. I definitely resonate with this video… It’s been a long and painful journey and sometimes I wonder how I even got here where I am today. And I never thought I would say while and all that pain, that it has been worth it.

Anyone who identifies with the first bit of #9 may have CEN, or Childhood Emotional Neglect. As an almost-40-year-old who thought she was more self-aware than others, I can’t tell you how earth-shattering it was for me to find out about that. According to this video though, I have begun healing. ❤️
