എനിക്കും ഒച്ചുശല്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.ഒരു ചെടിയുടെ തണ്ടൊടിച്ചു വേരുപിടിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഒരുചിരട്ടയിൽ കുത്തി, തണലിനുവേണ്ടി ആ ചെടിയുടെ കീഴ്തന്നെ വച്ചു. ഒരുദിവസം നോക്കിയപ്പോ ചിരട്ടയുടെ അടിയിൽ ഒച്ചുകൾ. വളരെ ചെറുത്‌. അതിനെ എടുത്തു നശിപ്പിച്ചു. പിറ്റേന്നും നോക്കി. നല്ല ഐഡിയ. എല്ലാ ചട്ടികളിലും അതുതന്നെ ചെയ്തു. ഇപ്പൊ ഒന്നും കാണാറില്ല.പുതിയ തയ്യും കിട്ടും ഒച്ചിനേം പിടിക്കാം.

പണ്ടത്തെ ഒച്ചല്ല ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ഒച്ച് ജനിതകമാറ്റം വന്നെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. പണ്ട് ഉപ്പു വെള്ളം ഒഴിച്ചാൽ ചാകുമായിരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോൾ ചാകാറില്ല. അതിൻെറ പുറത്ത് വഴുവഴുപ്പുള്ള ഒരു സ്രവം ഇല്ലെ. ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ഒച്ചിന് അത് വളരെ കട്ടികൂടിയതാണ്. ഒന്നും അതിൻെറ ദേഹത്ത് തട്ടില്ല. ഉപ്പ്‌ അതിന്റെ ദേഹത്ത് തട്ടാതെ അത് ഇഴഞ്ഞ് പോകും തല നീട്ടുമ്പോൾ അതിൽ ഒഴിച്ചാൽപോലും രക്ഷയില്ല.
