    You’re 100% right with your issues here. I have a ‘22 RS which has the same screen. The tachometer is stupid. I leave it on the one that shows the RPM. It should just be a simple circle like the Ducati or a bar graph like the BMW or Aprilia.
    Your small issues are spot on too, mirror vibrations at 60+, same issues on the ‘22.
    It is a premium bike and I quickly forget these things after I ride it. As you said it handles incredibly and the engine is so good.

    I get your frustration, for sure! Incidentally, what is the actual redline on this bike, because it's kind of hard to tell with the layout of it's tachometers? And also, what is the specific operating temperature in degrees? Thanks!

      12000 rpm hits the rev limiter. I don't know what the operating temp is. If you have the TuneECU app, it will give the temp in degrees. I have the app, but never looked at engine temp..

      Man, that would sure suck if Triumph actually set the rev limiter right at 12k, regardless what the tach says the redline is. This is because a little bit of rpm headroom is needed beyond your max horsepower at 12k to keep your power from dropping off like at rock when the engine slams into a 12k rev limiter.😕😕😕

    I really don't understand the comparison while choosing a bike between the MT09 and the Street Triple RS. I rode them both a couple of times right after each other at a roadshow where Yamaha and Triumph offered test rides at the same location. I started with Trident and MT 07 then Street Triple R then MT09 and then Street Triple RS and back. I can just say that these bikes are so different especially the MT09 to the RS. Just to give one example is the seating position of the R / 09 / RS.
    Even at my local Triumph dealer I test rode the R and RS and back a couple of times.
    Big big difference.

      I know its not for all, but even a road bike should have a legible tach. Keeping your eyes no the road is a must, a quick look at the tach should be all it takes to see your rpm. The rs is a track focused bike and should have a a performance gauge pack. The tach on the speed triple is easy to read, it should be the same.

      The animation part for the rpms are not readable. The digital numbers are, you can choose 4 different layouts. There is one that has a large digital rpm read out, thats what I use. There is no lag, but between 8000 and 12000 the rpms move fast. The dash is okay with most of the other info, its just on the small side. When you turn the key on, it does take time before it boots up.

    Funny, I'd never look at the tach. It spins to 12k or something. If one runs out of revs on that, they need their ears checked. This is a bike to carve up twisty roads. Wheelbase too short to be drag racing, though I understand they put a lot of software on them to keep the wheel down these days. As to the turn signals, since I don't see them when I'm riding, so I'd never even think about it.
    If it bothers you, then it's a big deal. Neither would bother me in the least.
    The one thing that bugged me was the color in person, in the light if day. It looks gorgeous in very picture I've seen of the thing, but when I saw it in person, outside, the gold and sparkles made me feel a little like Liberace, but I still can't get the thing out of my head. I'm living vicariously, now back to play. Keep riding it.

The same stands here. They clearly have the capability to add LEDs (as seen on the cheapest bike they sell, the Trident), so why wouldnt they do it here? 765 of each colorway made. Only a handful made it to the US. For that handful, they had to specifically go out of their way to install shit turn signals. It makes no sense. It probably would have cost Triumph... $100k? Hi Ken, I'm late on viewing this one, but I thought it was interesting that Triumph actually has a warning in the manual pg 170 to NOT change the shock preload as this could screw up the handling. I've never heard of this on other bikes before. It reads:
    "The rear suspension unit spring
    preload is not rider adjustable.
    Any attempt to adjust the spring
    preload could result in a dangerous
    riding condition leading to loss of
    motorcycle control, and an accident.

    • @Yo-Ken
      @Yo-Ken  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I read that also, it really does not make sense. Why have a adjuster ring if they don't want you to adjust it. Preload is not the same for a 150lbs rider to a 250lbs rider. To get the best handling and ride settings, you need to adjust for the proper sag, which is done by adjusting the preload. I did take some preload out and I have no issues with handling, and the ride is spot on for me. As a road circuit track rider or mountain road rider, you don’t look at the dash much. I focus more on lines, braking and cornering. I might check the dash for speed or gear indicator but I go mostly by feel. For drag racing and straight line riders the dash may be more important to hit your shift points.

    • @Yo-Ken
      @Yo-Ken  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do agree, but if you are on a track with a long straight after you come out of a turn... wouldn't you want to get the most out of the engine for better lap times. I just know they have the software or firmware to do it... they did a great job on the Speed Triple. Having said that... I know most riders with talent might night care.

      @@Yo-Ken If you're looking at your dash while at the track it's likely the first time you've been there and you're just trying to get your gear selection dialed. Two sessions later you're not looking at it. And at my first track day with my new RS the large, numeric tach at the top of the screen worked perfectly. Anyone serious about lap times is going to use a transponder, a built in lap timer is a novelty for street squids timing their run on The Dragon. I bought my RS based on math, there simply isn't anything else available at this price that's this good right now if you plan to take it to the track. In 45 minutes I can have clip-ons installed for a trackday, run with fully prepped track bikes in the advanced group, and then have it back to stock for a comfortable commute the next day.

    Here you go.. every one send something like this:
    To anyone at Triumph who cares what your customers think and hopefully to someone who can make a difference.
    I will not be the first to contact you about the 1% of this wonderful bike that isn't so wonderful - The Dashboard screens, they're embarrassing.
    I am now on my second Street Triple 765 (RS this time) 2023, but it may very well be the last bike I ever own (age and money and all that). It's the Carnival Red and even after 10 months I still get butterflies just knowing she's there waiting for me to ride.
    But the the 4 dash layouts are pretty much universally despised by riders, a strong word for sure, but I suspect that when the rest of the bike is so awesome, to have to look down at any of the available screens is a constant dissapointment whilst riding the machine.
    So whilst it's only 1% of the bike that is a fail in form and function, it 'feels' so much more as that's a key interaction with the bike.
    And yes it is both a Form and function failure, whether it's the stupidly tiny fonts throughout, the 'I have no idea what revs I'm in layout' ... Mirrored TWICE!!!!!, the vast amounts of unused space, the 'the Total Miles is hidden somewhere' and so on, there is not a single 'saving grace' about the current layouts.
    Why, in fact how on earth did even one of the layouts get approved, never mind four of the same similarly designed abominations. Was it a case of nepotism? YTS? care in the community? under 5's pre-school competition. Seriously they are all that bad, and I am fairly sure many at Triumph will already be well aware of the general feeling and the fact that Triumph does nothing about it is awful.
    So here's a thought, if you have to keep these childish, unreadable, 4 dash layouts, then find do so, but please let the adult motorcyclists produce a couple and give us the update. And if you can't be bothered to put much effort into keeping your customers happy, then simply look at Kawasaki, Honda... in fact almost any other similiarly style dash and plagiarise their layouts.
    And before you reply with 'most customers seem to like', just spend 30 minutes googling or youtubing this topic.
    I know nothing will be done, given some of the more influential feedback you've already had that I am aware of, but at least now I can say 'I tried', which is more than the Triumph Screen Design department did.

      Unfortunately I don't think you can buy them. You get it when you buy a Triumph motorcycle. In my case the dealer where I bought the Triple did not give me any of these items. When you buy a Triumph, you get a back pack, key change, folder, hat and T-shirt. The last 2 Triumph's that I purchased from another dealer came with all these items. Pretty classy thing to do from Triumph. I will contact Triumph and let them know about the poor dealer experience I had. If I am able to get another key change I would be glad to send it to you.

      I can see that some riders as yourself can read a 4 digit tach, but I can't. In fact, I'm kind of jealous that you are able to focus on the number tach between 10,000 rpm to the recline of 12,500 rpm. For me, it's a blur. The way the bike is geared and where the peak power is... the rpms move a lot faster than I can focus on, and the road a head A sweeping large tach is so much easier to read at high rpm. Just look at BMW, KTM, Ducati. But the bike is still awesome!

      The 19 dash is so much better. If the triple was not such a good bike, I think it would be gone by now. Maybe they will do something for the 2025 model. All it needs is a firmware update, not a big expense.

  • @rahulvinodpatil
    @rahulvinodpatil ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a 2019 Street Triple RS, bought in Feb 2020, it was the last unit the dealer had right before the 2020 refresh with LED headlights. I was looking for the 2020 silver one, but chose the 2019 - partly because it was available with a good discount, but also because of the 2020's dash having these same trashy UI themes as your 2024. Ergonomically that tachometer is illegible to read at a glance.
    It looks like somebody at Triumph forgot lock their computer and their 6 year old decided to edit the UI themes. That Triumph repeated the same themes in the 2024 model is a mistake beyond silly, since it's simply a firmware update and even if the 2020-2023 and 2024 models have additional functionality, the UI can still be largely reused from the 2017-2019 gen1 765RS.

My dealer experience when purchasing was awful. When I contacted Triumph they said they have no control on how there dealers customers... WTF? In Thailand the new Street Triple RS is around $14.000 dollars if you convert the money to American dollars. so I would not complain to much about the blinkers you got in the America market. and I am not arguing against it having a nicer screen. but I have never relied on a tachometer to tell me when I should shift. Where is the place you are riding in the video. it looks like a beautiful place to ride. I don't own the RS, but I love pretty much everything about the new Street Triple Rs. it looks great, it sounds great stock, handles great. I love the size and weight of it. pretty much everything except the lack of wind protection. when I test road it I was being hammered by the wind at higher speeds. I liked the walk around, enjoy your bike. at least the dash says good afternoon.

    • @Yo-Ken
      @Yo-Ken  ปีที่แล้ว

      The turn signals are not that big of a deal... easily replaced and not expensive. I just think a premium brand should get premium parts. As far as the tach is concerned, when I'm racing my buddies or just feel like pushing the bike, I want a tach I can read. It's not a deal breaker, to many positives about Triple. I live in North Carolina... lots of nice roads around here. I'm ok with the wind, on nice warn day with the cruise at 65mph... it feels just fine.

    • @photographerjonathan
      @photographerjonathan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Yo-Ken I understand that cruising at 65 the wind feels fine. the problem is that the bike does 150 mph. and it handles nice enough that you want to go above 65 all the time, but because of it not having wind protection. you don't really want to do higher speeds with it. or really anything over 65 for any period of time. only in just quick spurts. its not a bike that you can be on an open road somewhere and just Cruze at 120 mph on it in comfort for a 10 or 20 minutes. Like I used to do all the time in comfort on my 1984 Ninja 900. I recently bought a 2017 Ducati 939 Super sport with 2159 km on it. and I really love the bike. its a sport bike with semi comfortable ergonomics. similar to a naked bike, and it has a little bit of wind protection. but I am looking into getting a taller windscreen for it. but with that said the new Triumph 765 RS is a really beautiful machine. I am going to keep my eye out for one on the second hand market. but it might be a while before I start to see any. I really like both the colors. first I thought the red was the nicest. but now I am leaning toward the yellow. maybe because my Ducati is Red.

    The screen is an absolute disaster. Coming from a Ninja 1000SX that is possibly the best form/function on the market, the 765 is awful. Many reviewers agree, but it's frequently just a throwaway comment.
    The salesman told me that Triumph are doubling down on updating the display despite the prolific number of complaints.
    Your comparison to an 'Arcade game' is pretty good.
    I think the issue is that every option is the same stupid layout and a complete waste of available screen. Why not provide 4 very different layouts.
    Given here in the UK at least, 80% of its owners need reading glasses, only amplifies the ridiculous fonts and layouts.
