      where does the 2.5 stretch allowance value come from? Do you use this for wovens too?@@Sewmate21

    hello this was very helpful but can you please explain the calculation where you minus 2.5cm's from 4.55cm's, where did 2.5 come from you didn't explain? kind thanks from Tracy

      I subtract 2.5cm which is the stretch factor because since the armhole is cut as a circle it's cut on bias mainly and it will stretch definately meaning you will end up with a much bigger sleeve armhole as compared to the top armhole so removing this 2.5cm corrects that difference

      ah I see I did wonder what you meant, i thought maybe you meant ot say seam allowance. I've been sewing with mum for years and i've never heard of nay tutorial refering to something as a stretch allowance, even mum who's very knowledgeable, was confused and where did 2.5cm's come from. thank you I have now treid the sleeve and it works. in all the years i've never done a circle sleeve like this, only gathered or pleated sleeves whihc are a much different shape. thank you so much it really helped :) @@Sewmate21

      thank you, yes as said that makes sense but we wondered how to worked out it was 2.5cm's pricsiely, the toher figures made sense, have now done the sleeve and i'ts perfect. thank you so much, i'm making a dress with frills, but wanted some sort fo flounce frills on the top of my bodice to match the dress and went through several options till i found this flutter/butterfly sleeve, sometimes you just need that one piece of information to help you complete your project. kindest thanks indeed from Tracy :)@@Sewmate21

    Hi thank you for this tutorial. May i know why do you minus your armhole 2.5cm ? If use inch also use the same method too ? Example my armhole 16inch-2.5cm? ..
    . This is because i try make 16/6.28 then when I attach it on my body armhole there are still excess😢. Pls reply me 😢 thank you .

      @Sewmate21  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      2.5cm is the stretch factor ehich is whats goving you extra fabric when it comes to attaching your sleeve,so if you are working in inches you subtract 1inch which is equivalent to 2.5cm, so if your armhole is 16 inches it will be 16inches-1inch =15inches,hope you understand, thanks for watching Kenyah.
