Your discussion about the respect of water and its source was spot on. Your personal story of growing up with a cistern was a great example. All the vlogers I’ve watch have talked about water, yet not really showing a healthy dose of being very careful with exactly what hey have on hand. You rattled off almost to the ounce how much you had onboard. Smart, and a much under discussed issue.

I loved your little discussion about water. My grandfather that was born in 1907 told me in the mid 1970's that he believed the next civil war in the united states would be over water....it is a resource that we all need every day.

As a Colorado Mountain Boy I get the Zen of the mountains. It's one of those things that is hard to describe but the peace and balance you draw from just being there is very real. Oh! And... Green beans.

Those of us who grew up in and around mountains and live our whole lives there, completely understand. I love to travel, but I always feel more at home with mountains and trees.

@As the Magpie Flies I just want to say that I LOVE this series and thank you for bringing all of us along with you, you are an amazing person and I hope you have many more fun fill adventures ahead of you. This episode had me smiling, crying and choked up the whole time. Gila National Forest is a place that I wanted to go camping with my Dad. Unfortunately that will never happen since my dad is now losing his battle with cancer and can no longer go on trips. To everyone out there, if you are planning a trip with a loved one, do it, do not put it off until its too late.

I just wanna say thank you. I have fibromyalgi and often I stay inside in my little apartment for a week or more. Your videos calms me down, makes me laugh, and inspire me to get out and do the thing! I've ridden Harleys for more than 20 years but my body can't handle them anymore, so I bought a CB500X and now I feel the joy of riding again. From the bottom of my heart thank you Amanda. Ride safe and do the thing!

Having grown up in Kodiak and in the Sierra, I get your love and ease of being in the mountains. My wife and I selected a home solely because we have a magnificent view of the mountains, and are blessed to see the sun set over the summit every night.

I love hearing your stories growing up in Corvallis, I know how you feel about water usage. My grandparents lived in eastern Ky and had a well for water, sometimes it froze too and made like very interesting, but some parts of country life were fun as a kid. Collecting eggs from the coop, driving tractor. Maybe you could crumble up some Klonopin or Paxil in your tea, that would take the edge off😝😆 Going to Overland east in Oct, wish you were out this way now, love seeing your smile & laughter. You started me on this lifestyle and now I remembered why. Thanks Amanda❗️
    Bye the way….. Brussel Sprouts

It was so obvious throughout this video that your brain was at ease and happy. So funny, at 7:38 to 7:48, the time lapse of the shadows on the hill --- there was a breeze that shook the trees a bit, and I shivered, as if the trees were shivering and getting ready for a cold night. And then the frost the next morning completed the scene! Thanks for the fun video.

"Otherworldly" is a good description. My all-time favorite photo of riding with buds was taken there in 2017. I had that screaming sense of caution in my head telling me to slow down or I'd slide out on the snow....oh wait.... Hope you got to observe the place from Cloudcroft, too. A brilliant bit of white way, way down there... Always, always you bring a smile as you do the tent fly dance.... 8:36 Love the star shot. ALWAYS. One of your best vids ever. Lost a friend in an auto accident two days ago. I needed some mellowing moments. Thanks for providing them Amanda! Carrots.. raw, steamed, roasted.

Gorgeous videography on this one... Between that and the restful, zenlike ambience of this episode makes me miss the southwest so very much. I'll get back eventually, but it won't be soon enough. I've been wanting to make it to Gila Cliff Dwellings! They look great, you should check out Mesa Verde someday if you get a chance. Not only did I enjoy the ruins, but the ride was very nice through the park as well! Love that part of the country.
As for my favorite vegetable... Hmm. It's a tossup between Sugar snaps and Snow peas. Or are those considered legumes? Anyway, be well... Another great episode.

    Mines a sweet potato.
I also grew up with a cistern in NE Montana. We were usually good for about 30 days between fills but in the winter we had to wrap the well spigot with heat tape and then put an insulated 50 gallon drum over that so it would freeze up. When I tell city friends those stories the horror that shoots across their faces is borderline comical. But you’re right growing up having to be that aware of your water usage never really goes away.

I'm rolling out of Madras Oregon nowadays, but started my motorcycle adventures in California.
You were part of my drive to strap on a tent and other basic rations to my bike and trave thousands of miles at a time while camping along the way. Since then I have logged thousands of miles, made many new friends and have seen many beautiful things that I could never truly live or relive considering...
With that said...many months ago I got in an accident and am still rehabilitating and learning to walk again andIrefuseto give up!..my point being...you helped me learn how to live again, emotionally and mentally as well as helping me gain the hope and hardheadedness needed to get back up on that horse again.
Next spring I should be able to head back down to California and ride my broken bike back home to Oregon..that in itself is freaking awesome. What's even more great is knowing that I still have the personal strength to continue on my own and still recommend others to begin and continue riding.
Thank you so much for sticking with your passions and giving others like myself the courage to keep going and the courage to continue sharing the most basic possibilities of motorcycle adventures and camping.

I love this journey but today is bittersweet. I should be pulling into the ranch to participate in RMR 7. Sadly Betty White has a big incontinence problem and leaves raw fuel everywhere. pRetty massive fuel leak to say the least. She is in the shop and likely will not be ridden this year. I have truly missed riding this season. However I believe that everything happens for a reason. I just don't know what that reason is this time. Thank you for sharing your journey and if you have time to see this comment on this busy RMR 7 weekend please tell everyone I said hi and I will see you all at RMR 8 in 2023. Stay smooth and keep the shiny side on top. ESC ? My favorite vegetable is the one I am eating.
