Tx Toby, I figured the process is the same, but I have never crossed overland. I imagined 2 trestle tables, one for China out and the other Laos in. lol And Mohan international terminal ? I had no idea. I thought next stop was Laos/Botan I look forward to your updates...I may be following in your footsteps one day.
Good luck. Its very fast and convenient, but right now you have to almost cross the border "twice", leave china, enter no mans land, then cross into Laos. Its easy if you are not in a rush.
Good Timing, thank you !!.Just today I looked up a train ride from Kunming to Muhan. I am in AU. My Chinese wife and I are planning to retire in Mile in January. Initially, I'll be on a tourist visa, I will need to leave the country every 3 months. If I may ask, did your passport get stamped in Muhan? Or did you have to enter Laos proper? ( Butan in my case)
Hi Charlie, ill try and get the follow up videos out soon (this is just the first). When you leave China you get the exit stamp and then as you enter Laos you get the Laos entry stamp. Its really like any other border in terms of passport stamps. But the Mohan train station is just a normal train station you have to take the train to the mohan international terminal (approx a further ten minutes on the train) for all the entry and exit stuff,

Others’ videos were available in two or three Chinese languages and had no problem with translating. What a pity, probably used the wrong method when editing the video. 😅
I don't think there's much of a profit for China. It's very useful for Laos to transport its goods to China, its main importer. Remember, Laos is landlocked.

Those elephants from Xixuangbana during their epic trek last year spent quite a bit of time in Pu'er.

Stop instigating the typical western hates and divisions. Leave the Asian alone they know what's best for themselves. 😅
