    What is the small waffle looking plate that pierces the Nespresso pod? Mine is missing. I guess it stuck to a pod and accidentally thrown out.

    I’m purchasing this Cuisinart coffee make today on Amazon because of your wonderful review and this maintenance video. (it’s also on sale!). I’ve had 2 Krups Il Caffe Bistro combo coffee/espresso makers over the last 25+ years and my second one is failing . Krups discontinued this model and replaced it with a new model that is absolute trash. Thanks for helping me choose my new coffee maker!

    Hey there, I like your video but am seeing a problem still. I cleaned the espresso pod side like you said, but it is popping and spitting out steam like a gasket was blown. I called Cuisinart and they want to just replace it, but I am thinking it is something that will just happen again. I used a thumbtack to gently clear each little hole in the espresso pod holder. I put it up to the light and can see through each hole. I didn't want to force larger holes. What am I doing wrong?

    Have you ever had an issue where the lid on the pod side won’t lift up? Mine is stuck shut. And it won’t make the pod I have in there.

      @bradsyoutube 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This seems to be an issue for several people. I have also noticed the same thing. Try using genuine espresso pods instead of less expensive generic ones. Also, after closing the lid, lift it up again and close it again before brewing. This might help provide a better puncture in the foil and the lid won't jam so easily.

      @@jenniferhewlett9601 have you tried running more cycles through it? Run an espresso cycle a few times and see if that helps.

      @@bradsyoutube wow! Thanks so much for your fast reply! Yes I tried 2 more cycles. It makes noise like it’s powering up, but no coffee comes out and then it gives a single beep as though finished. But lid is impossible to open. Waiting for a call back from Customer Service.

      @@jenniferhewlett9601 oh wow! I’m curious to see what Customer Service says. My next go to would be brute force lol. Mine got pretty stuck one time. I just gave it the old upward palm punch. Not sure you want to go that route quite yet. That was with a generic Nespresso pod. I stopped using those and it’s been working good ever since. Good luck! Would love to hear how it works out for you.

    Do you know how to open the K-cup/nespresso pod door if it's stuck closed? I put a nespresso pod in to make espresso and the latch will not open.

      My sister also cannot get the pod door open after using the nespresso feature. Did you figure out how to open it??

    • @winklertribe5268
      @winklertribe5268 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. Eventually I wrestled it open but it was pure luck that I got it opened again. I examined the closure mechanism , and there is a safety locking mechanism and it seems that the nespresso pod/adapter can sometimes throw the locking levers out of alignment such that the safety locking mechanism gets jammed. I’m still working in a way to permanently disable the safety locking mechanism without breaking open that lid. I’ll update if I figure something out.

      I still have not figured out how to get the kid open once it’s stuck closed. However, I find that if I pre-puncture the nespresso pod before putting it into the pod holder and closing the lid and brewing espresso, the lid doesn’t get stuck closed.

    We just purchased this and our first K cup coffee had grounds all on top of it after brewing. It was the very first brew. Do we need to run a few water runs through it first?

    • @sally6187
      @sally6187 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you run a cleaning brew through it first? Might want to try a couple of brews using only water before brewing another pod.

    I have a couple of suggestions that I have found really helpful, primarily in regard to the single serve side of the machine. 1) Very important to do a rinse brew after brewing either a k cup or Nespresso pod. Try this, after brewing an espresso do another brew without the pod and see how brown the water is. A rinse brew will not only help with keeping the flavor optimized but also assist with keeping the needles clean and free from getting plugged with grounds. 2) I have found that this machine likes genuine espresso pods, not the generic ones. Basically, the quality of the pod makes a difference. If you are experiencing issues lifting the handle after an espresso brew try using genuine pods. This made a big difference for me. The genuine pods also seem to puncture better and have a little better flavor IMHO. Hope this helps!

    I just purchased this machine. The steam wand on my machine does not even have a tip on it. Did they make a different model? Trying to learn how to use the steam wand for frothing milk. It works but I’m looking for videos that illustrate how to use this particular machine, as it doesn’t instantly stop/start.

    I'm curious. Does anybody else think these charcoal filters are a bit odd? The one in the drip side of the machine will dry out if you don't use drip coffee very often, and i'm guess it drying out isn't good. And I can't figure out how the single server water reservoir filter even filters the water? Water can easily get past it and into the brewer, right? At least with my Keurig the filter was at the bottom of the tank so water had to go through it.
