rocksteady absolutely ruined the batman 2022 suit, they could of made it look just like the movie with the dark colors and different textures of the materials, but in the end it came out with Nintendo switch graphics...
I've heard that arkham origins suit was supposed to look like it had been scrapped from different military equipment, maybe to sorta show that Bruce wasnt keen on making his own very well designed suits yet.
From what I’ve heard, the reason that Knight’s version of the Origins suit has a different color scheme is because it’s based off the wrong skin. It’s based upon the unlockable “Dark Knight” skin that you obtain via completing the Dark Knight challenges in Origins.
Ah interesting ! Similar to the way the new 52 suit has a both lighter and darker version but honestly…the lighter version of both suits looks far better 😗
@@gibsonisthename Agreed, the lighter suit definitely looks better in this regard. I think there's a mod that fixes this little oopsie the developers made somewhere.
Honestly, I have a soft spot for the 1939 suit. What can I say? There’s something kind of cool about imagining Batman just going out in a basic cloth suit and still feeling confident enough to fight people with automatic rifles. Plus I kind of dig the purple highlights on his fists. I know at the time that was a necessity so that the ink wouldn’t blend his hands and his cape, I kind of like the idea of Batman having a little bit of color on the fist so it pops out on the design that little bit more to emphasize his strength
In a universe where Batman isn’t the brooding hero we know him to be all the time, the 1939 suit definitely could work but as we, or I, have come to understand the character now, it just is so far from anything that could ever see him wearing. It’s definitely a fun look for him straying away from what we know but batman definitely doesn’t usually have fun…like ever…
11:33 the lore friendly explanation is that in Origins, Batman made the suit being bulky and heavily armored for protection at the expense of maneuverability, then as he got better at being Batman he made the Asylum/City suit less bulky with the expense of protection, then in Knight he made a suit with maneuverability and protection
For sure bro and honestly if they were to make a Batman beyond game set in the Arkham universe, they should most definitely use that suit or something similar to it And I thank you for watching my man 🫂
i think the type of ear i prefer depends on the body shape and the costume design, for example if its like a batfleck-type build thats when i like short ears but if its a slimmer or lean build thats when i think longer ears shine
The 1939 suit would look a lot better if the cape was longer and blue on the inside like in the comics, has white eyes, and make the purple gloves black like in The Caped Crusader! I personally love the devil like horn bat ears. It's way more intimidating (Read Batman: The First Knight and you'll see what I mean) and it makes sense because it's more in a shape of a bat.
@@revalier3670 in the caped crusader they definitely made the right choices redesigning the suit slightly but I still just can’t get behind it… the more bat like ears are a cool design but to my eyes, I automatically got reminded of wolverines cowl and how his looks and I’m not sure if I’m a total fan of it 😅

the arkham origins suit is bulky because batman was less experienced he took more hits so he needed more armor and shed it later on after getting better at evading and taking hits

Valid ratings. Honestly, I feel as though you were being generous for most. But in the end, I totally agree that the Arkham Knight suit is the best. Oh, and tell Mom I said hi.
Sick video! I've been getting back into the Arkham games trying to 100% them on Steam so this popped up on my feed and I really appreciate the effort and thought you put into this ranking. I could not agree more with your opinion on the Arkham Knight suit, it's truly my favorite iteration of Batman of all time. Arkham Batman, to me, is the best Batman has ever been portrayed in a piece of media, and that suit is just one of the reasons. I think the only place where I disagree is with the Origins suit, as truthfully I think the bulky look makes a lot of sense for Origins Batman. He doesn't yet have the tech to make the compact yet advanced armor we see in Knight, but also doesn't have the confidence and experience to operate with a less protective suit like he does in Asylum and City. The bulkiness and armor plating of the Origins suit seems like a logical tradeoff for a Batman that is brute forcing his way through all of his foes, and I think with the unique way that game's cutscenes are animated it works super well. I agree that it's not as good as the other game's main suits, but I think it contextually works. That also stems from the fact that I don't mind a bulkier Batman. The dude is supposed to be this inhumanly strong beast of a man, so it always made sense to me that he would be bulky. Doesn't mean he can't be athletic, and there's always Nightwing and Robin to look to as the more agile members of the Bat Family (and Barbara when she was still Batgirl).
Super happy to see the Arkham series sparking your interest again And honestly you’ve probably explained the whole bulky look for the origins suit the best out of anyone else who’s commented before and I agree 100% contextually it makes sense but visually I’ve always gravitated towards a mix of being big enough to be intimidating but not so big to where it looks like he can’t be mobile still I gotta thank you for watching this videos as I know I haven’t posted a Batman video in a hot minute but on my second channel I’ll be reviving the Batman content around the end of November
I think the reason that the origins suit is bulkier is because Batman is early in his career and less skilled, he needs bulkier armor to protect himself. As he gets older, he gets more skilled and ditches the bulky armor for lighter material that won’t slow him down
Everyone always says that but I just wish there was some explanation for the evolution in his suits…(I don’t make Batman videos on this channel anymore but I just uploaded a 40 minute lore video on Arkham knight in my second channel!)
@ that’s fair. I think that people noticed that the suit was really bulky, and just filled in the blanks. I like the explanation, but I can see why some don’t
I think the Origins suit showcases his development, his suit is super bulky and armored like a tank but in the games that take place after he has gone for a design suited for movement while still having great armor
This makes me wonder how people would’ve received the look of the suits if it was the other way around, like if he started with a more cloth based suit and ended with a suit that’s built like a tank
Although I think over specific numbers like 7.8 are kinda nitpicky, the fact that you saved the 10 for the 8.04 suit makes me respect you, not many people get why that suit is the quintessential batman suit.
I figured instead of doing a typical tier list I would give specific ratings coz when people ask me how I would rate something that’s exactly how I rate them and I just had to save the 10 for the final suit just because of how PERFECT it really is
I have grown to really like the Batman Inc. suit, Adam West suit is infinitely good, the Dark Knight shall always be one of my favorites, the 1970’s look is my Batman, Batfleck is dope, and the Arkham Knight suit is dope AF.
As far as the face models go I’ve always had them impression that Rocksteady didn’t design them around the cowl restrictions so when he is unmasked his face is too wide and chunky in the cowl I think he looks good but as soon as it comes off it’s just weird
Have only played the first two games and gearing up to play Knight. I’m excited to play in the Keaton suit as I grew up renting that film from Blockbuster and I love the all black and yellow. For City the BTAS suit was my favorite from bias but I actually have grown to like the Year One suit. I prefer long ears but I like the suit’s cape and bat symbol. The Inc. suit is almost good but I don’t like the way Batman’s face looks. I think the cowl face is too scrunched and the cape could be a little darker. It looks better in Knight than City from what you showed.
