Would definitely love to see Batman rock grey and navy blue in a future live action film. Maybe they'll finally get it right again in the new universe.
I don’t think that’s true, and also he was never supposed to be in blue and gray. Bats aren’t blue. And definitely not royal blue. Or even navy blue like Captain America and the colors of the USA flag. He was meant to be black and gray indicating the noir, Dracula, creature of the night and literal bat vibes. It also makes more sense for a vigilante. It makes no sense for Batman to be in deputized blue like the police themselves, whatsoever. It started off that blue was a highlight for black, much like Clark Kent, and Bruce Wayne‘s hair, and then due to printing issues and the deliberate lighting of the tone of the character due to the comic code authority, all of a sudden he became seen in a ridiculously stupid bright royal blue and bright gray with yellow accents. Printing issues is why the Incredible Hulk became green when he was intended to be gray. Is Clark Kent’s hair blue? Just because something was presented one way in the comics doesn’t mean it should happen in live action reality based setting, not everything translates. Let’s be honest though Batman works best as Black and Gray. The only deviation that has ever worked, was the very striking change of Tim Burton putting him in all black. Because it makes sense and makes him a more shadowy intimidating and imposing figure. Blue has never worked on screen or for the character at all for that matter. To be fair, while he calls himself Vengeance in The Batman, he also calls himself the Batman. We know this because Alfred calls him the Batman, Riddler addresses him as the Batman, etc. And I know there was a lot of speculation about the emblem on his suit being made from the gun that killed his parents and all that...but all I ever saw there was a batarang. It certainly didn't look like parts from any gun I've ever seen, but it looked a lot like a batarang.

The thing about The Batman 2022 suit is that it's only the upper torso and shoulders that have metallic armour. The rest is material, so it isn't too heavily armoured.
IMO you can't put the BvS suit and Justice League suit in the same category. The shade of grey in JL is different, his ears go up differently making him look like owl man, and he can't move his neck in JL too.
Personally, I've always disliked Bale's TDK suit. It just looks way too overdesigned for me and I hate how small the symbol is. I also dislike the way the cowl looks
I totally get what you mean by the cowl. Also, as someone who has worked as a character entertainer, I can't unsee how awkward the cowl looks on some people (myself included)
The Arkham-verse Batsuit tops all. Even though it's not live-action (which still can be possible), it made Batman look and fight like an actual force to be reckoned with.
I like the Sonar suit, it was one of my first Batman action figures I ever had as a wee sprout. It doesn’t look that bad honestly at least compared to the Clooney suits. I like the Bat symbol and the cowl looks pretty cool. I do still prefer the classic black and yellow suit for Kilmer and Keaton.
I agree 100% with your top 2. I also appreciate the collar on the Pattsuit. It prevents the lightbulb head look of the Balesuit from TDK and TDKR. I hate the skinny neck of those suits.
My live action Ranking for the Bat-Suits 1. The Dark Knight Suit 2. BVS Suit 3. The Batman Suit 4. Batman Returns Suit 5. Batman Forever Suit 6. Adam West Suit 7. George Clooney Suit
The reason that the bat symbol looks weird on the 89 suit is because of copyright purposes that they only gained in Batman returns. Also off topic but I think the dark knight suit should be higher than it is but that’s just me and nostalgia cuz I love those movies
Personally i think Affleck's suit is great, but it has its problems. I know it's based on the dark knight returns, but I don't really like the short ears and i think the bat logo is way too thick. I really hope one day we get a live action batsuit that looks a lot more like the one in the arkham series.
Honestly the Titans suit wouldn’t even be that bad if they just slapped a Batman logo on it (which anyone with a 3-D printer I could whip up that in an hour or two) and just say that this is an early version of the bat suit. I give it some leniency since you’re never supposed to see it in good lighting so it feels unfair to compare it to the rest of the suits that you’re supposed to get a good look at. But in terms of looking like Batman I have to give it the worst ranking just on the fact that no matter how bad some of the other suits are they at least look like Batman. Titan’s Batman could literally be anyone if you take away the mask.
I liked what the Batman Forever and Batman & Robin suits tried to attempt, but they just ultimately fell flat. However, there was potential there, if you removed the excessive physique molds and altered some of the crazy design elements, they could have been great. Unlike Keaton's first two suits, those two were form fitting, better detailed (to an extent) and felt closer to what some of the comics did.
"Batman (1943/ 1949)" were released just four & ten years after Batman's first appearence in comics. So yes, the suit's are a 1/1 from his early appearences. As they had very little source material to draw from, in that regard. I personally enjoy them more than the goofy, over the top zeitgeist that is "Batman (1966)". Though they don't have much in the way of actual Batman villains, the overall tone-- while not perfect, is far closer to it's comicbook counterpart than Adam West's interpretation. Beyond that, though I prefer Ben Affleck's imposing presence over Robert Pattinson's-- I think they nailed the latter's cowel. Specifically, it's jawline. Christian Bales for example, looks ridiculous by comparison-- ESPECIALLY when he talks. Yes, I know people were complaining about it being "too wide/ open". But I'll gladly take it over "not wide/ open enough" anyday. Though, somewhere in the middle would be perfect for his next appearence. Edit: Fingers crossed that the DCU's Batman has white lenses. 🤞
Am I the only one that scratches my head whenever someone uses the term “military armor” to describe TDK or Pattinson suit? Like what military personnel is wearing anything like that?
Disagree with some things, the ”bat turn” with the 89 suit actually implements a mannerism language that makes the character very imposing. Michael Myers esque. Also Queen Studios Pattinson > Hot Toys Pattinson. Rankings: Tier 1: 89 and TB Tier 2: BB, TDK, BvS Tier 3: Returns, and Flash (Keaton) Tier 4: Forever Panther, Forever Sonar Rest were trash. And I don’t mean scene specific ones like Knightmare or Armored BvS.
Ahhh I see what you mean. I never thought of it that way. Also, I had to agree about Queen Studios 😂 unfortunately that isn't available in my cou try and a tad out of my price range
dude its funny because the Batfleck falls low on my personal list 😭😭😭😭 like literally just because of the tiny bat ears (which I do appreciate but only in Batman: TDKR), the bat brick of a logo, and the lack of whited out eyes tho I have that problem with all the suits 😭💀 and Im personally kind of hoping James Gunn doesnt fix that so I can when I enter the industry ^v^
Same! I just have a thing for the more grounded approach they took with that movie. His suit, his car, his weapons, it was all created and/or customized with only his hands and the tools/parts in his garage.
@@Morgoroth_07 I mean in the 40s during WW2 Japanese Americans were forced into slavery by the US government for no reason and the "villain" was trying to free them and he was played by a white guy in yellow makeup.
I missed the pre order because I thought I didn't want it 😅 I'm on the waitlist, but at this point I doubt I'll get it at cost and I don't want to pay for a "late fee"
Ngl, Batman might have the worst track record when it comes to live action suits (next to The Flash). The BVS suit is the only one I'd say is genuinely great.
It's funny too because I feel like the main reason why is the material. The cloth material in BVS is the one that's the closest in look and feel to how he is in the comics, while every other suit has some sort of armor or bodysuit
@@AntonioRedgrave Yeah I'm not big on armored Batman unless it's one of those powered up armors like the one from TDKR or the Hellbat armor. My ideal live action Batsuit would basically be something like the Arkham City suit.
Is the Pattinson suit really that good? I appreciate the practicality of the suit and its mobility; but the suit lacks style for me. The gauntlets for example have these silver darts which look kinda ugly to look at. The collar doesn’t look as good as a one piece cowl though it definitely works in a practical sense. I do love the colours of the suit though, it has a good balance of black and dark grey. For a year 1 and 2 suit it works perfectly, but for Batman as a whole, it lacks subtlety and style. It’s a great suit, but I don’t understand why people keep treating it like it’s the best thing since sliced bread in comparison to other batsuits like batfleck for example or Keaton. My personal favourite batsuit is the returns one.
@@samuelmackenzie5267 not sure how it lacks style for you. The collar gives off that detective Dracula vibe and it fixes the skinny neck issue Bale had. The exposed jawline and skull like cowl is just perfect aswell. Batman has always had his sharp jawline out in majority of comics and media and it translates so much better in live action. The fact that it’s not a cheap rubber costume is a plus aswell.
Am I the only person in the world who hates the Keaton '89 suit? Seriously it's hard to not laugh whenever I see it! He looks like a 12 year old in a badly fitting outfit from some costume hire place!
Ummm, your points are eerily too similar sounding to Cinemaze's video. I hope it's just a coincidence, but it seems you copied most of his talking points. Just saying...
Each to their own but I just don’t get the hype around the Pattinson suit. Or Batmobile for that matter. The suit is boring and looks like anyone could put it together. But the worst offence is the cowl! SUCH an ugly mask. I’m REALLY hoping they fix that in the sequel. If there is one.
The mask being “ugly” should honestly not be brought up anymore since it’s pretty obvious that was done purposely, it also pays homage to Adam west with the stitches and nose shape of the mask, the suit doesn’t look like anyone can make it either that material is obviously some high quality stuff it’s very complex and has so much detail and the practicality would make it harder for anyone to make too, and simplicity is sometimes better his Batmobile being that simple but being modified made it badass and easily has the best sound design from the others in live action.
The mask isn’t ugly at all. And the exposed jawline translates so much better in live action. Bale looked foolish with that tight plastic helmet and the small mouth hole. And Affleck looks great in certain shots but the others he has a squished face and some hilarious butt chin. Pattinson however pulls off the look as Batman 24/7.
I dont think Clooneys suit looked weird at all and have nothing against the nipples. If you are paying attention to what Joel said he took inspiration from anatomical drawings and statues that have perfect bodies. These were inspiration for the perfrct body and pecs for the Batman and Robin costumes. Which I personally love I thought George looked stunning in black rubber but his acting was bad. My personal 2 favourite suits are the Returns suit (Keaton)and the Panther suit that Val wore. ❤❤🔥🔥🔥 I also loved the look of Christian Bales costumes in Batman Begins and the Dark Knight. This is just my opinion. 😊
Michael Keaton will always have the best batsuit. Christian bale has a horrible suit. Michael Keaton batsuit had better gadgets in the suit. Robert Patterson batsuit is just an abomination. I like that hes a detective but still terrible
Keaton’s rubber costume looks like something from a McDonald’s kids meal toy pack. Doesn’t help that he’s 5’9 aswell. Pattinson’s suit is miles better.

the best batman suit for the best batman fight scene great video 😁👍
Am I the only one that scratches my head whenever someone uses the term “military armor” to describe TDK or Pattinson suit? Like what military personnel is wearing anything like that?
1/ BATMAN Begins
2/ The Batman
3/ Batman Returns
Batman begins suit > dark knight suit
Dude the para demon suit is so much better than the normal bvs and the armored suit. The goggles are the only thing trash
Me personally I like sleek cotton black with small accents of yellow, not grey/silver bulky tech suits with rubber.
WB, 🤣, HOPEFULLY have learned their Lessons. James TOLD EM, "Y'all FOOLS better not even THINK of coming tnto the Kitchen while I'm Cooking".
Disagree with some things, the ”bat turn” with the 89 suit actually implements a mannerism language that makes the character very imposing. Michael Myers esque. Also Queen Studios Pattinson > Hot Toys Pattinson. Rankings:
Tier 1: 89 and TB
Tier 2: BB, TDK, BvS
Tier 3: Returns, and Flash (Keaton)
Tier 4: Forever Panther, Forever Sonar
Rest were trash.
😂 bro said some suits that I was just like, um ok I, guess 😭..
Pattinson version is my GOAT
Same! I just have a thing for the more grounded approach they took with that movie. His suit, his car, his weapons, it was all created and/or customized with only his hands and the tools/parts in his garage.
My favorite suit is The Batman (2022)
this was my ranking as well great minds think alike
Adam West have 2 suits
1966-1968
1979
I don't recall a 1979 West bat suit. What was that from?

Fun fact those 1940s batman movies are actually super racist so I don't recommend watching them
I haven't seen them so I'm curious, what do you mean by racist. Like in the sense of like stereotypes or does batman just casually throw out a slur?
@@Morgoroth_07 I mean in the 40s during WW2 Japanese Americans were forced into slavery by the US government for no reason and the "villain" was trying to free them and he was played by a white guy in yellow makeup.
@@Morgoroth_07also there's a TH-cam video about it that goes in depth I forgot the channel name but just look up 40s batman and you'll see it

Clooney suit is navy blue or dark blue
14:07 you need the new red and blue suit man.. thoughts??
I missed the pre order because I thought I didn't want it 😅 I'm on the waitlist, but at this point I doubt I'll get it at cost and I don't want to pay for a "late fee"
My top 5 Batsuits:
1. BvS and Regular Justice League suit
2. Bat-Keaton's Flash suit
3. The Batman 2022
4. Batman Returns
5. Begins suit
When you start collecting, you can't stop...you just can't
For me are just 3
1. The dark knight suit
2. Batman Returns suit
3.Batman begins suit
Why did you say number nine when the number seven popped up?
That was a mistake I made during recording
solid list - although I don't like batfleck too much, I think his grey and black suit will stay at the top for at least another ten years
Ngl, Batman might have the worst track record when it comes to live action suits (next to The Flash).
@@KhaosKontroller The Batman suit is better.
@@RyanG0899 its OK to be wrong
@@supercard9418hell no.
The Dark Knight suit is fucking trash
💯
@@samuelmackenzie5267 not sure how it lacks style for you. The collar gives off that detective Dracula vibe and it fixes the skinny neck issue Bale had. The exposed jawline and skull like cowl is just perfect aswell. Batman has always had his sharp jawline out in majority of comics and media and it translates so much better in live action. The fact that it’s not a cheap rubber costume is a plus aswell.
Affleck's BVS suit is TOP. TIER. It hasn't been topped even by Pattinson
Am I the only person in the world who hates the Keaton '89 suit?
Seriously it's hard to not laugh whenever I see it!
He looks like a 12 year old in a badly fitting outfit from some costume hire place!
No DKR? But that horrible suit you put at number 1??
The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises suits are the same
Robert Pattinson's Batsuit is perfect. Period.

Batman and robin worst 😅
The ben aflec suit looks like fitness wear to me
Ummm, your points are eerily too similar sounding to Cinemaze's video.
I agree
There will be a sequel. It's set for 2026.
Ripping the rubber mask off always made it look so cheap to me in Batman Returns.
@@geordiemc4571 no it doesn't. The batman suit looks like a cheap toys r us suit you can get at the flea market for $3.75. It's plain ugly and unoriginal.
@@geordiemc4571no. This was the costume that started it all to take batman serious. Besides Robert suit look like he bought at a flea market for $3.25.
Adam West was the worst one
Im sorry but the Pattinson suit and movie and car all around is terrible. Worst of the series and a vile blemish on the Batman name
The first live action Batman movie that gave us a thriller mystery noir with a Batman who doesn’t kill for once is a vile blemish on the Batman name? Just admit you aren’t a Batman fan
@@geordiemc4571 I think it's likely a bias against the actor.
