How To Change NATO Strap & Metal Bracelet on SPECTRE Omega Seamaster

I've had several requests left in the comments of my other videos, for me to do a video which shows how to change between having the NATO Strap and the stainless steel bracelet attached to the timepiece.
When I went to the Omega store in London to pick up a spare NATO strap back in mid October, I was shown by one of the staff how to change out the spring bars and change between the NATO strap and the bracelet.
I now share the knowledge in this video.
Although this video is 25 minutes or so, when you are changing the strap / bracelet yourself, it will probably only take between 5 - 10 minutes. Where as obviously here I was explaining in detail the process.

lol I just got a 2018 Seamaster 300m steal band, 1 day later I had already taken it off and swapped out to the nato strap. Make sure you have the tool, or else you'll have a horrible time trying to get the spring bar out. Also, careful with the spring bar, my first one, flew across the room and I almost lost it 1 day into owning a couple thousand bucks worth of watch lol
No problem having dings and scratches on my Omega Spectre. Just tells the world that you're actually USING IT.
I place sticky tape on watch case and steel bracelet to avoid scratches,then peel it of. And yes it is a pain to remove steel bracelet. What i did is buying double lip(flange) spring bars. So much easier to place removal fork in them. One more tip,stick your thumb nail in the bottom steel bracelet tip when the first spring bar pin is out,then pop the top one,while moving the bracelet with your index finger up. Yes a pain, but you will get better at it with time.
I bet the alarm is rather loud.
I just changed my PO to a rubber strap..feels so good and light now compared to bracelet..maybe I’m too old for heavy watch anymore..😁
When removing the metal band I find it easier to remove a link from the bracelet or removing the pin from the micro adjustment so the bracelet can lay flat with the watch instead of obstructing my view.
Tried this today,OMG removing the stainless strap is so so difficult. It fits so well there's very little room for wiggling that spring bar out. Defo keeping the nato on now,looked nice but this watch has to have the nato me thinks👍Daily wearer for me,so many people comment on seeing it being worn ie out and about on the wrist and not boxed up and more of a investment piece? It was my 1st luxury watch and I'm gonna wear it as and when in-between my 300m black ceramic titanium, thats just gone back to omega due to a bezel issue (4 month turnaround).😭
If that doesn't deserve a subscription, I don't know what does frankly.

Just take your time and take car. Also a tip I have heard is to cover the lugs with scotch tape to add some protection when changing between the NATO and bracelet.

Because the last time I asked to service my certina to a watch specialist he chipped the lugs when chaning the straps, it was just a little chip, but its still a chip not a scratch. So after that i bought my own tools and planning to fix my watches myself. And this video inpires me, see i dont have that same watch or watches as yours, but these kind of videos inspires us

You’re my hero. I’ve been trying to get my bracelet back on my Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra. I’ve been wearing the croc strap with deployment buckle. It’s easy to remove and a nightmare to put the bracelet on. It keeps slipping! You make it look so easy. Hats off to you. I’m going to go try it again. Stay tuned! By the way, I hadn’t looked that closely at the Omega Spectre addition. It’s a fantastic timepiece. Might have to add it to my collection. But a new Rolex (my first) is next on my list.

When it comes to the bracelet I prefer to use tweezers. So much easier.

Struggled for ages to change the strap on an Aqua Terra from leather to bracelet. This video had finally allowed me to do it. Thank you. Did scratch the back of the lugs a little but not bothered.
You could tape the lugs and case with transparent cellotape if you want to reduce the risk of scratching the watch.
I already know how to do this, but its always good to have a video like this for others that are unsure on how to do this themselves.. Bravo for this tutorial!

Putting the bracelet back on my smp 300m was a nightmare. Doubt I'll be taking it off again anytime soon
May I request a video on sizing the bracelet? I'm having a heck of a time trying to find the official omega tool for removing the screws on the links. Something tells me I shouldn't use just any old screwdriver. I'm actually getting this same watch and speedmaster moonwatch which I'll have to size on my own.
Hello, thanks for watching and the question.
I don't have a tool for adjusting the number of links on the bracelet and do not know the proper way that it would be done either.
The best way to get it adjusted would be to either take it to an Omega Boutique or any reputable jewellers will be willing and able to make the adjustment.
That's the only advice I can give I'm afraid.

I sized the bracelet myself. A small jewelers screw is more than enough to remove the links. But be careful not to lose the screws while doing it. They are really small! I was surprised at how easy it is then using the old pushing pins method to resize the bracelet which can be pretty tedious. Resizing this bracelet was pretty effortless. Just have to take your time and extra care while unscrewing and screwing the screws back in.
Thanks for a nice video, but this hurts me to see. To avoid scratches on the lugs, always try to tape the lugs to protect it. Use scotch tape f.ex.
And try always to maneuver the pin in and out without the pin touching the visible "outside" of the lug.

As I say, the way in the video is how I was shown and luckily I've completed the process without any scuffs or scratches but the addition of scotch tape will make it even safer process.

I've been there myself, did some light scratching while changing bracelets and straps on "my precious" :)
The last thing u want to do with your watch is to come to the point where you have to have your watch polished because of scratches. Unpolished watches with the typical hairlines is more attractive in the second-hand market than the polished ones.

Hi Mark I purchased the Omega a few months ago after wearing a Rolex GMT Master 2 for 10 years , I have wore it with the NATO strap on a daily basis the watch is really nice but didn't give me the same feel as wearing a Rolex . Maybe I will try with a metal strap

What size or kind of your springbar remover are you using? I have similar but could not remove the bracelet from my Omega seamaster 300m, case size 44mm. The gap is sore of small it could not fit into it in order to press the pin. Thanks

Can you have the nato on the straight spring bars instead of the curved ones? To answer the question..no you cannot. I just followed your tips and for the first time did not scratch my lugs. Had to put the bracelet back on because the nato I bought from deluca would not fit!

Good video! I really appreciate it, it must have been really difficult for you to record and change the bracelet at the same time, and I really needed to see the procedure because I found it really hard to change my bracelet as well, cheers!
I find that taping the lugs prior to switching straps or bracelets reduces the stress of this little procedure and virtually nullifies the risk of scratching your lugs inadvertently.
Watching this video I felt motivated to switch from rubber strap to steel bracelet on my PO.
Good vid, thanks for taking the time to show all aspects. Removing and putting back on the metal bracelet can be very delicate, tricky, tense work even if you have it planned out. That's why a lot of manufacturers are integrating a quick change system. Good to be able to handle this old school set up though, and it's usually more versatile for anyone who wants to use different branded straps.

Great vid!! The tolerance on my 2018 SM bracelet did not allow one side at a time for the bar to be removed (there is literally no room for it to be lifted at one side). I ended up getting the other half to hold the watch down and us 2 spring bar removal tools.

How come you do not tape your lugs. Through some tape on the lugs so you can avoid a scratch. I had a bad scratch from a spring bar.
