  • In this video I review the Flubberstufferz Slymeballz tire inserts for the scx24 Injora comp tires. I install the Slymeballz in the competition pins on our scx24 deadbolt and test performance in a variety of areas, focusing primarily on sidehilling. These are great inserts, packed with innovation, that take your tire setup to the next level. Watch on to see them in action!
    Thank you FlubberStufferz for sending these over to try! You can purchase Slymeballz here: flubberstuffer...

    Nice! I've been hoping for a video on these after seeing you post on Instagram. Very innovative idea for sure. It would be cool to see them on the grippers if you get the opportunity. 🙌

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They would be great in the grippers since those tires are so incredibly soft. The added sidewall strength would be a nice addition to those tires

  • @TrevorParkJones
    @TrevorParkJones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Those do seem to add stability on the side hilling quite a bit! I've been curious about these for awhile now, so this was cool to see when I got up today. I know foams can really make a difference in performance, but I haven't been able to decide exactly how to run my setup yet. Thanks for doing this Adam, take care!!!

      They’re great in a tall tire like the pins. I’m really interested to see what they’re like in other tires, like the swamp kings, or even in the Patagonia’s like what’s in the c10. Very cool alternative to foams either way!

    Hey Adam you seem to not be afraid of work and enjoy your hobby and tinkering. Thank you for sharing🤘🤘🤘
    Would you consider taking extra firm, firm and medium foams and with your punch following Slimeballz lead and try two rows of vent or holes. Different sizes, different staggers and see if you can come close to sidewall stability and obstacle conformity.
    You could also punch holes following the circumference/directional overlapping the hole punch and decreasing in size to mimic the shape of void in the Slimeballz.
    I would think a minimal amount of layout just so you didn’t run out out “pattern space” not as precise as the paper patterns sent to you but good old fashioned by eye should prove or dis prove a concept.
    You are so correct about getting it to the ground in any power wheeled sport and how important tire tuning is and to be able to obtain maximum tuning with pure economy is a corner stone of this hobby.
    Tinker on dude🤙

      Great idea Ed! That would be a great project. I found myself wishing I had more insert options today after mounting up some scramblers on the bronco. I just could not find the right density and structure with all of the foams I have on hand.

    Great in depth review man. The only thing I hate about the flubberstufferz is that I love them so much I need them in every tire now! Running the V4 in a set of LGRP swamp kings & in the PH TrailKings. V3 in the grippers, got a set of the v3.3 on the way. And have the V5s in the comp pins. They really are the best tire supplement around 👍🏻👍🏻

    Great video but to be honest I didn’t see that much difference between the CI’s & Flubberstuffers. I actually thought the CI’s did better on the side hill. Comparing both on real rocks would also , make a great video.

    • @CapeCrawlers

    Hey Adam did you have any problems getting the rims to seat properly with the flubbers? I’m finding that some of the tyre keeps coming out and it’s taking A LONG time to assemble them. Any tips?

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would reach out to FlubRC and verify you got the correct size. There are usually a couple variations based on the wheel and ring size. It can get really difficult if the size is off

    Hey man great videos. I have my Injora Pins ordered and will have them soon, and will look to pick up the FlubberStufferz as soon as I can.
    Question: I have metal steering links, servo horn and emax servo recently installed. The screw from the servo horn to the steering link works loose every crawl I do. -How do I keep them from working loose?
    Thanks, and all the best.

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the support! I think you’ll really like the pins, especially with the slymeballz. To answer your servo horn question, the best solution I’ve found is to use a tiny nut and thread it onto the bolt in front of the horn. Some blue lock tight will keep it on there. You may have to use a slightly longer bolt to get enough to thread onto, but be careful not to get too long otherwise you’ll hang it up on obstacles. Mofo RC sells the tiny nuts if you don’t have any handy

      @@CapeCrawlers Thanks for your quick response. My Pins arrived today, along with metal high-clearance links. I put the foams from some RC4WD Wranglers, as the were softer and smaller than the ones that came with the Pins. Installed and ready to test!

    If you’re running the LGRP Ripper tires, should I get the Type “S” or Type “T”?

    • @CapeCrawlers
      @CapeCrawlers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The S and T refer to the ring size of the wheel. The slymeballz for the gripper tires is the V3, but the ring size will vary based on your wheel choice. If you’re unsure which one to use, I suggest contacting flubberstufferz. They’re super helpful and responsive

      It’s tough to justify the cost. I was having a hard time finding a setup that works with the competition pins and these seem to be the right way to go for those tires. But it’s a big investment for inserts.
