Thanks for the video - I was just about to order the green, now I think I want the yellow. I'd be curious about a comparison to the FlubberStufferz a similar size
Picked up the greens and found that cutting out every other middle "brace" really helped soften them up while still providing the stiffer inner sidewall support. Could probably cut out every other outer brace as well for even softer performance.
I’ve been running copper BB’s believe it or not. No insert in the tire and I fill the tire about halfway or so. When you’re crawling, you’re moving so slow it’s really not rotational mass. But because the weight doesn’t move, it really pushes down on the tire and it gives you really good grip. I just have to find a way to add more sidewall stability to the tire, but so far it’s working awesome! It’s fun messing around with different things to see what works best. I just ordered plastic bb’s and I’m going to fill the entire tire to see how that works. That should be interesting. Depending on how soft or firm you want the tire, it’s just a matter of adding or taking away bb’s. I could also mix the metal BB’s with the plastic bb’s. You should do a video on it. It’s been really interesting so far. Just think of the possibilities, ceramic and glass or just a couple of examples,, it’s almost endless what they can make a bb out of. And I’m sure each will have its own unique properties and performance. Who knows!! That’s what makes all of this so much fun.
Thanks for the info. I've been wondering how these are and you come through again with a great video. Maybe cut some of the vertical structures to give them more flex? Great vid. Thanks.
like tires, I think the inserts need to be broken in too. roll them on a table for a while. I did this to my tires and foams separately and together. I think injora is heading in the right direction... though if they started making low profile tires they'd start taking more of the market at the same price point as ppl would realize, oh, i don't need to spend extra for inserts.
I have the 1.3 aluminum bead locks the super soft inserts and swamp claws on my evo pro. I thought that combination might be a little big, but I think it`s pretty sic...
Let's see this comparison using the LGRP Black Labels. This should be more of an apples to apples comparison since the tire and compound itself is much softer!
May it seems tough... I do get the more traction footprint on rocks etc for the softer tires... But it also lowers ground clearance. Seems like a bad tradeoff at times
Awesome video! Definitely have to get a set of yellows, I’ll compare them to my flubs, may be a good extra set for spare tires. I think the harder inserts may shine with brass wheels like you said but also oversized tires at the top of their range 64mm or so.
Thanks for this review!! I already purchased the super soft ones, hope they perform good on our comps too!! Could you say how much the tarantula weights? My comp truck is on 540 grms.
I feel like testing these in a tyre with a softer compound or sidewall like an LGRP may give you a better demonstration of the benefits and differences between the two. The compound and sidewall strength of those injora tyres are quite hard in comparison to a lot of other tyres on the market despite the nice soft compound of the tread. Like always thanks for the review. 👍🏻
I have just ordered both sets of these to see what the like , the slyme Ballz are good but to expensive to buy and the postage from them is almost as much as the set of inserts so I did not buy any more , but these look good from injora and there postage is fantastic $3.00 £2.48 in my money , how is the new job going , stay safe mate 🇬🇧
Just got two sets after seeing my trx4m using the Injora foam inserts roll too much on the side wall. Really killed some lines. Hopefully they help improve my score
A pity these inserts don't fit every Injora tires. It'd be interesting to see if they work well inside the tall and narrow Injora mini pin tires, but not the right diameter, nor width.😢 Hope they complete their offer with different sizes soon.
The silicone inserts may have created a seal with where you usually put a venting hole That probably makes them act stiffer but if you put the hole in the side of the tire I’d be curious to see if they’d suddenly have much more conformity
Just mounted one yellow ring in a Swamp King and immediately took it out again. Sidewall support yes but makes whole tire MUCH stiffer than before and also ruins my venting, i have all my rims and metal rings drilled from the inside and that silicone over the metal ring seals everything so there is no more venting. Don't want to drill holes in the tires. I could start making holes into those silicone rings and maybe cut some parts out to make them softer but not sure i want to start with that work maybe put them out and in several times until i find something useable.
I just got the yellows for those same tires, figured it would be easy to stiffen them up with little foam cylinders in the gaps as needed to stiffen up. My trucks aren’t too loaded with brass tho. Did you compare the yellows to the stock foams on the course?
Always enjoy your testing. If I remember correctly you did slimeball inserts before. Which ones would you say work if similar softness is used better injora or slimeball???
I feel like slimeballz are superior. They're as good at conforming to obstacles as the super soft injora insets but have stronger sidewalls, plus they're available in more sizes. But they ought to be superior given the price
@@CapeCrawlersthanks sir They do have a lot of size options. It's actually a bit confusing to tell what you need to order cuz there are so many size specks haha
I know this is an older video. Is there anything that I need to coat the inside of the tires or the inserts? I've noticed that if you mess with them they get a wobble and it looks like the axle is bent. Any ideas?
@@CapeCrawlers I wonder if you would get different results with the vents on the sidewall. I do inner sidewall because with 3d printed inserts or silicone inserts the inner and outer diameter rings of the insert block holes that are in the beadlock or holes in tread so they trap air within.
The green inserts weren't really compatible with the Injora Swamp Stompers and vintage DJ crawler wheels on my high trail. Tried for an hour, might be a skill issue but they seem too thicc
Appreciate you sharing, I will be trying out the yellow got a set of black label tires on the way. Well catch on the next one until then peace and chicken grease 😁👋👋
I need some help, i have an upgraded scx24 bronce but no Electronics have been upgraded yet. It was working fine but i put it down for a few weeks and now the servo siezes up when it gets power but moves freely when the car is off, also the steering and throttle trim is broken and the car is stuck in reverse. Anything i could try thats under $50?
I would save up for an ESC. I’m upgrading to a Furitek lizard pro to open up options for brushless upgrades. I would also triple check for binding in all components from over tight situations.
@@CapeCrawlers I managed to install a pair so far not too bad. I mostly wanted them for sharp turns because on the foams my tires would completely roll under the rim. Thanks for the vid 👌 awesome reviews as always.
The greens look pretty stiff, resulting in quite a bit of traction hop you would probably avoid with a softer foam or 3D printed. The yellow ones look better, but still a bit on the stiff side. Side hill looks nice though.
I'm not sure why people even use foam on 1/24 scale. Unless it's some kinda heavy..... none of my 1/24 crawlers need foam. It's more realistic without the foam. Look at real life crawlers and tell me what their tires look like under load. They are SUPER squishy(I think around 10lbs of pressure). The only reason I can see needing foam is if you have an air filled tire and you want to keep the bounce from the tire down.

Same. Would like to see a comparison video
So glad I watched this. I put 1.0 greens in my shopping cart last night thinking those were the softer ones.

Hey Adam I’ve had success softening up 3d printed inserts(not slymeballz) by cutting out sections of it with a pair of flush cutters

I'd love to see these available for 56mm/57mm scale tires.
Agreed
@@RabbiJesusThey are now available for 56-58mm tires
Would you test these in 1.3 rims and tires? I have a max weight tarantula ground up build. And need some sidewall.
Just ordered a set of the yellow Yep here watching
Hey bud got a set of green ones in injora 64x24 crawler tires on Lgrp wheels very nice and squishy lol
Hi Adam, great review 👍🏻 How heavy was that rig you were using for testing?
665g
@@CapeCrawlers thanks
Okay cool my t hunter is 671gms now so should work good with ones you choose
I never ran foams because they were always too stiff so I’m going to half to try these.
In my experience the yellow ones much stiffer than foams.

I had wanted to but the black labels are too skinny. These were a tight fit in the 24mm wide tires

You need to run the silicone inserts for a few runs to get them to break in. They soften up as you go. Least the 1.9s do.
Now compare these to the Flub RC Slymeballs for the same tires/rims
I feel like reversing the pattern would make them conform to rocks better. Making the outside softer than the inside
You and your son could go out on Saturday to use the foams well silicone I don’t really know what it be called
Injora has 1.3s now. Curious about those with the 70mm Swamp Claws.

Its closing the venting holes in the rims and rings. And thinking about it, i assume it would also seal holes you make in the tires.

Guessing the silicone negates the venting by sealing up against the surfaces. Might get more out of the green if you also modified them to vent.
Rig weight? Gladiator is at 800g hopefully green will work smoothly (swamp kings)

Do you vent tires on tread or sidewall? Curious maybe on tread it could be trapping the air inside
I do the tread, right in the middle. Two holes
