I'm from Mumbai I think best misal is in Mumbai that's made by me ,,,,myself 😃😋...in kolhapur or otherwise also we don't use only laal tikhat...actually we use kanda lasun masala or kala masala in this that's the main test enhancer and then aroma u can imagine....yummy yummy😋😋
Made it in japan a few months ago. My mumbai friend brought all the ingredients from india. All consumed. Will try again with alternative ingredients locally available.

This one is authentic kolhapur style. Actually you can make a series on various styles of Misals like Pune style, Mumbai style, Ahmednagar style, Vidarbha style and Nasik style. 👍👍

Stayed in Bombay for a year heard about usal and misal.never tried it.some days back saw a video of the great cricketer Mr sachin eating misal.may try it soon. Mala pan awadta hai.
