for your added information, actually, most Kpop groups now were mostly influenced by BigBang..if you see past interviews of BTS they definitely look up to BigBang as their role model... Reason why I also came to know about BTS when they were rookies is because of BigBang... BTS were covering and performing a lot of their songs.. and I found it really interesting the they were a rookie group that can totally own it... BTS even went to some of their concerts and naming some of BigBang members as the reason why some of them wanted to become an idol.. GDragon for Jungkook... Taeyang for Jimin..TOP for Jin... Bigbang and 2ne1 were the Kpop groups that were known for their fashion forward style, swag, creativity, individuality.. It is safe to say that the evolution of the musicality of most of KPop were influenced by BigBang.. They were the first KPop group who were idol producers. they started the trend of producing their own music when no other group were doing it in the KPOP World... They opened a lot of international opportunities for other groups to enter the western market... GD even became a fashion powerhouse.. He is a brand himself.. Well this song is not just a bop or a random song to jam, there is a deep meaning behind the MV. Their last comeback before ALIVE was was in 2008, VIPs were waiting for their comeback eagerly but in 2011 GD was accused for using marijuana(illegal in Korea), initial tests came out negative later the hair follicle test came out positive but the amount was minimal. He explained that when he was in Japan somebody offered a cigarette, he was drunk and thought it will be rude to deny so he took it but after few puffs he realized it wasn't usual cigarette so he threw it away. The charges were dropped because the amount was minimal and it was his first offence. But as always the anties were so loud about it. After that in May 2011 Daesung was involved in a car accident in which he hit a motorcyclist who was already collapsed on the ground because of a prior accident, he did try to help the man out but he died. The prosecution explained it's not confirmed whether he was dead or alive also he would've died even if Dae didn't hit him but the netizens attacked him calling him criminal and murderer(he deactivated his social media accounts and he still doesn't use any of them). In early 2012 a Japanese woman went to media about her one night stand with Seungri and it blew up. Basically Bigbang was at the verge of disbandment and received immense hate for existing. VIPs were worried that they'll break apart and go solo but in 2012 they made the most iconic comeback with their Alive album. In this MV you'll see GD saying 'yeogi buteora, modu moyeora(come together, everyone gather here) we goin party like' is calling the VIPs to gather and party that they're back. You'll see a sign board with a cross on a skull wearing headphones and police(anties) holding board no music which represented them wanting BB to disband and hated their music. But that sign board was burned and masked people(VIPs who weren't able to breathe freely because of the hate and lack of BB's music for 4 years) attacked the police. Then GD was sitting on a throne wearing a crown(Korean Kings used to wear it) and his upper body was covered with bandage holding a sword which means he fought with anties and got injured, he went through so much pain to be where he is. Now the masked people fighting bad people (anties and haters) instead of him. Taeyang was frozen who gets defrosted which means him and BB were inactive/dead and became alive now. T.O.P was seen in a frame which represents that he was considered JUST A VISUAL(he is an actor too and acted in movies like iris and tazza 2) but later he's out of the frame. Then Daesung was chained which represented him trapped in his depression and despair. Later in a scene he was standing between damaged cars representing his accident and then he was falling from a height where masked people (VIPs) catched him safely. Seungri is surrounded by girls and scratches on his body represents the scandal which gave him a playboy image. You'll see the masked people defeated the anties and now they are dancing with five of them, because of their music VIPs can breathe now you'll see them throwing the masks in the air and dancing freely. At last you'll see five of them sitting on the throne which shows they're still the unbothered Kings of K-pop and no matter what happens no one can touch them. They have this "out of this world" vibe in their music and style. I hope you can also react to iKon (another YG group) MV "dumb and dumber" to see how crazy their MV is.
Fact: ikon leader B.I. is the 1st kpop idol to receive the "Songwriter of the Year" (2018) for their hit song "Love Scenario" which also the "Song of the Year" in almost every award shows that year except MAMA because MAMA give the award to their obviously favorite group. Ikon is underrated but glad that they won over other popular group ( bts) which shows that pure talent will always prevail over popularity. Well generally all YG artists are underrated despite how talented they are.

for your added information, actually, most Kpop groups now were mostly influenced by BigBang..if you see past interviews of BTS they definitely look up to BigBang as their role model... Reason why I also came to know about BTS when they were rookies is because of BigBang... BTS were covering and performing a lot of their songs.. and I found it really interesting the they were a rookie group that can totally own it...
BTS even went to some of their concerts and naming some of BigBang members as the reason why some of them wanted to become an idol.. GDragon for Jungkook... Taeyang for Jimin..TOP for Jin... Bigbang and 2ne1 were the Kpop groups that were known for their fashion forward style, swag, creativity, individuality.. It is safe to say that the evolution of the musicality of most of KPop were influenced by BigBang..
They were the first KPop group who were idol producers. they started the trend of producing their own music when no other group were doing it in the KPOP World...
They opened a lot of international opportunities for other groups to enter the western market... GD even became a fashion powerhouse.. He is a brand himself.. Whatever brand GD wears, other Kpop idols make sure to get it...TOP was even a very famous and talented actor/idol who broke the negative view of the acting industry on how actor idols were heavily stereotyped and criticized..

Yes, Seungri left the group. The other members just finished their mandatory military service. TOP, the rapper, posted that he won't promote in S. Korea anymore due to negative social media comments. They will be performing at Coachella next month, then they will announce their future plans.

Bigbang are not a hybrid of BTS and EXO. BTS and EXO are direct descendants of Bigbang.
Before BTS even debuted, T.O.P and G-Dragon changed the game forever with their blue and red hair - in *this* video. Until 'Fantastic Baby', literally NOBODY in K-pop was coloring their hair like that.
Before there was ARMY or EXO-L, Bigbang was only the second group ever to give their fan club a name, VIP.
Before there were ARMY bombs, Bigbang was the first group ever to create an official light stick for their fan club.
Some of BTS's most iconic memes are of them lip-syncing to Bigbang songs, freaking out in the presence of Bigbang at award shows, and doing Bigbang choreography in their free time.
Being compared to Bigbang would make the guys in BTS melt with pride and honor. To hear Bigbang compared to them would make them laugh.

Well this song is not just a bop or a random song to jam, there is a deep meaning behind the MV.
Their last comeback before ALIVE was was in 2008, VIPs were waiting for their comeback eagerly but in 2011 GD was accused for using marijuana(illegal in Korea), initial tests came out negative later the hair follicle test came out positive but the amount was minimal. He explained that when he was in Japan somebody offered a cigarette, he was drunk and thought it will be rude to deny so he took it but after few puffs he realized it wasn't usual cigarette so he threw it away. The charges were dropped because the amount was minimal and it was his first offence. But as always the anties were so loud about it.
After that in May 2011 Daesung was involved in a car accident in which he hit a motorcyclist who was already collapsed on the ground because of a prior accident, he did try to help the man out but he died.
