Young fans often dislike the Beatles comparison but us old folks know it's a big compliment. I think they forget we've been listening to pop, rock, r&b and hip hop for a lot longer than many of them have been alive. Btw, Black Pink is much more popular internationally but imo Mamamoo is the female equivalent to BTS because of the parallels in their world-class talent, creative involvement in their music, musical diversity, and similar stories of coming from tiny companies. I'd be interested to see what your family thinks of them, esp the older folks' reaction to Mamamoo's remake of Tom Jones' song Delilah. 😂

I typically don't enjoy reaction videos with multiple people but this one was an exception! Everyone were focused on the video and were open minded and were focuses enough to take note and comment on things. Will love to see them react to their discography and the different genres they play with. Enjoyed Chad and Brandon's little comments as well. Definitely going to check out more vids of theirs.

I really loved your family's reactions. They were so open-minded, not going in with preconceived notions. They also didn't spend the whole time going "I don't know what they're saying" which can get tiresome because when you're listening to another culture's music whose language you're unfamiliar, OBVIOUSLY you're not going to understand what's being said, so there's no need to point that out every 5 minutes. And I LOVED your dad - he got into it, dancing, grooving, making a lie of the stereotype that only teenage girls love kpop. And he totally got BTS, and why they're as popular as they are, all within seconds of watching the music video. You should definitely show them the different sides of BTS - my new ARMY playlist is always Mic Drop, Fake Love, DNA, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Idol, and Boy With Luv, to show a range of their abilities with different genres. Then move on to sub units, with Ddaeng and House Of Cards. Then their solo works, with Joke, Epiphany, Agust D, Daydream, Serendipity, Singularity, and Euphoria. I feel after all those, a person has a good enough idea of what is BTS musically. ^^

Fun fact, no CGI was used in any of BTS videos, like they did everything themselves yes that's actually Jimin and Jungkook being thrown in the air. And yes those cars are actually on fire, and that blast was real too.
I agree with Suga when he said that listening without prejudice will make a convert of any music lover. I'm loving these comments about the family being open-minded and recognizing how BTS and their music surpass all kinds of barriers. It did make me very sad every time they said they were frightened by hoodies, though. Those are the kinds of sentences that drop out of your subconscious with all innocence, but can teach you a lot about your own preconceptions and views if you are mindful and honest with yourself when you take some time to think about what you believe and why.
This is one of the most genuine reactions I've ever seen.... I really loved watching your family and what they had to say! Thank you for doing this and spreading the BTS love!!

Your father hit it on the nail about BTS. Even if you don’t know what they are saying you get it. Music transcends all language barriers. They are all multi-talented, but what is more important than anything is that in every piece of their music that they put out, there is a message they are trying to convey to their listeners. They sing about social injustice. They sing about mental issues and so many pertinent issues that we deal with within society. Please look into their messages in their music if you haven't. It is part of the reasons BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) is loved by millions.

I had zero interest in kpop (even if I was interested in east asian cultures) but it was exactly THIS MV that sucked me into the "vortex" and now I've been a fan for over two years, flew abroad to see them, and spent half a year in Korea 💜 I thank them every day for giving me so much from their music to their words and to the friends I've made just because I watched one mv! music transcends borders just as RM says!

I am 45 and BTS is the only group I like. I used to listen to Kpop years ago but lost interest. They all sound similar after awhile. I love that BTS are not afraid to try new things. You have to have an open mind to appreciate all their albums. Please have your family react to Black Swan.

I know some armys don't know this but there was a day where Bang PD asked RM if he would consider the idea of going solo or he would stay with BTS. RM chose to be with his members without any hesitation and he said "BTS! Because BTS is BTS and we will make it!” I am glad he chose BTS because without BTS I would never truly be happy and I would never have loved myself and there would have been people who would have committed suicide without them! In the comment section of there song Don't Leave Me some said they had thought of committing suicide but that song made them ditch the idea so thank you RM for choosing BTS over being a solo artist (It was his dream to be a solo artist and yet his still chose BTS!) Also near the one of Brandon's family members said "the choreography is amazing and there just fun" and well of course they are fun after all army DID give them the nickname Boyz with Fun!
I recommend BTS performance at MMA 2019, the whole package was there (rapping, vocal, dance and stage). But be ready, the duration a quite long. Enjoy.
That was fun. I started watching Kpop when the Bangtan boys first appeared. I was immediately caught by their dancing. I too, felt they would overcome all language barriers. In the last eight years they have gained constant fans through their dedication and hard work. I knew they would win over the American public and watched every step. So proud of them. I love their fashion style and the total respect they shower on their fans. They will be here May 14th in Orlando. Cannot wait to see them. Yes they have totally breached language and age barriers. I can sing their Korean songs. I am 70. Thank you for sharing.

This was great! I was just like your family, I had never heard of BTS and the little bit that I knew of kpop was years back and BTS is NOTHING like what I knew of kpop years back. The first video I ever seen was Blood Sweat and Tears and I was instantly addicted. BTS is extremely intense and all the hard work they do shows. Your father was right when he said "These guys are going to break all language barriers"(Soooo true) because I did not know a word of Korean and still became an INSTANT FAN. Even their shows, I don't care if they have English subtitles, I'm still watching every bit. I'm so intrigued by EVERYTHING these guys do, they are amazing at everything they do, are the biggest boy band ever, have broken countless Guinness Records and are STILL HUMBLE. They truly are "IDOLS"...

It's funny that that one guy said "it's gonna transcend all language barriers" because I remember a speech from RM when he said "Music and performance transcends language and countries and races"
I typically don't enjoy reaction videos with multiple people but this one was an exception! Everyone were focused on the video and were open minded and were focuses enough to take note and comment on things. Will love to see them react to their discography and the different genres they play with. Enjoyed Chad and Brandon's little comments as well. Definitely going to check out more vids of theirs.
Can you show them something more soft or more of a vocal line like fake love or boy with luv? Show them that BTS has more then 1 type of music/genre style

I really loved your family's reactions. They were so open-minded, not going in with preconceived notions. They also didn't spend the whole time going "I don't know what they're saying" which can get tiresome because when you're listening to another culture's music whose language you're unfamiliar, OBVIOUSLY you're not going to understand what's being said, so there's no need to point that out every 5 minutes. And I LOVED your dad - he got into it, dancing, grooving, making a lie of the stereotype that only teenage girls love kpop. And he totally got BTS, and why they're as popular as they are, all within seconds of watching the music video.
You should definitely show them the different sides of BTS - my new ARMY playlist is always Mic Drop, Fake Love, DNA, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Idol, and Boy With Luv, to show a range of their abilities with different genres. Then move on to sub units, with Ddaeng and House Of Cards. Then their solo works, with Joke, Epiphany, Agust D, Daydream, Serendipity, Singularity, and Euphoria. I feel after all those, a person has a good enough idea of what is BTS musically. ^^

Fun fact, no CGI was used in any of BTS videos, like they did everything themselves yes that's actually Jimin and Jungkook being thrown in the air. And yes those cars are actually on fire, and that blast was real too.
I agree with Suga when he said that listening without prejudice will make a convert of any music lover. I'm loving these comments about the family being open-minded and recognizing how BTS and their music surpass all kinds of barriers. It did make me very sad every time they said they were frightened by hoodies, though.
Those are the kinds of sentences that drop out of your subconscious with all innocence, but can teach you a lot about your own preconceptions and views if you are mindful and honest with yourself when you take some time to think about what you believe and why.

Your father hit it on the nail about BTS. Even if you don’t know what they are saying you get it. Music transcends all language barriers. They are all multi-talented, but what is more important than anything is that in every piece of their music that they put out, there is a message they are trying to convey to their listeners. They sing about social injustice. They sing about mental issues and so many pertinent issues that we deal with within society. Please look into their messages in their music if you haven't. It is part of the reasons BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) is loved by millions.

I had zero interest in kpop (even if I was interested in east asian cultures) but it was exactly THIS MV that sucked me into the "vortex" and now I've been a fan for over two years, flew abroad to see them, and spent half a year in Korea 💜 I thank them every day for giving me so much from their music to their words and to the friends I've made just because I watched one mv! music transcends borders just as RM says!

I am 45 and BTS is the only group I like. I used to listen to Kpop years ago but lost interest. They all sound similar after awhile. I love that BTS are not afraid to try new things. You have to have an open mind to appreciate all their albums. Please have your family react to Black Swan.

I know some armys don't know this but there was a day where Bang PD asked RM if he would consider the idea of going solo or he would stay with BTS. RM chose to be with his members without any hesitation and he said "BTS! Because BTS is BTS and we will make it!” I am glad he chose BTS because without BTS I would never truly be happy and I would never have loved myself and there would have been people who would have committed suicide without them! In the comment section of there song Don't Leave Me some said they had thought of committing suicide but that song made them ditch the idea so thank you RM for choosing BTS over being a solo artist (It was his dream to be a solo artist and yet his still chose BTS!) Also near the one of Brandon's family members said "the choreography is amazing and there just fun" and well of course they are fun after all army DID give them the nickname Boyz with Fun!

That was fun. I started watching Kpop when the Bangtan boys first appeared. I was immediately caught by their dancing. I too, felt they would overcome all language barriers. In the last eight years they have gained constant fans through their dedication and hard work. I knew they would win over the American public and watched every step. So proud of them. I love their fashion style and the total respect they shower on their fans. They will be here May 14th in Orlando. Cannot wait to see them. Yes they have totally breached language and age barriers. I can sing their Korean songs. I am 70. Thank you for sharing.

This was great! I was just like your family, I had never heard of BTS and the little bit that I knew of kpop was years back and BTS is NOTHING like what I knew of kpop years back. The first video I ever seen was Blood Sweat and Tears and I was instantly addicted. BTS is extremely intense and all the hard work they do shows. Your father was right when he said "These guys are going to break all language barriers"(Soooo true) because I did not know a word of Korean and still became an INSTANT FAN. Even their shows, I don't care if they have English subtitles, I'm still watching every bit. I'm so intrigued by EVERYTHING these guys do, they are amazing at everything they do, are the biggest boy band ever, have broken countless Guinness Records and are STILL HUMBLE. They truly are "IDOLS"...
