    Love that it doesn't need an app. And completely agree that the 2nd head *absolutely needs* to be controllable by the main controls on the pan head.
    As with the pan head, the 2nd head *needs* to allow the camera to be manually moved, pointed and tilted to a location, select the A point, then manually moved, panned, and tilted to point B point. All using the main set of controls, without touching the controls on the 2nd head. If Zeapon can update the system to achieve that functionality, will buy one. Otherwise, will not. - Another great review.

    I'm using a Micro 3, but watching this just made me think of a question I'm hoping you might have an answer to.
    In the app you can set more than two waypoints. When doing this, I'd hoped for one continuous motion from each waypoint to the next, but in practice the slider stops momentarily at each waypoint, making this function far less useful. Is there a way to have one continuous motion? Am i just doing it wrong?

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You didn't do anything wrong, it has been always like that I think I have also talked about that in one of my previous video. But I have checked with Zeapon they told me it's one thing in their to do list that they want to improve, hopefully by end of year as they are currently working on a few other bug fixes and improvments

      This is the my main gripe with zeapon. If they just polished the app, it would be such a wonderful experience using their products. For the life of me, I don't know why they don't pour enough effort into improving their app. Not to mention that they downgraded it taking out the feathering of the movements between waypoints.

    • @kernzilla
      @kernzilla ปีที่แล้ว

      proper app dev is difficult and expensive. it's nothing new for companies to release A+ product with C+ app. i don't think what they've provided is horrible, but def room for improvement. and unlike a LOT of sliders, zeapon clearly went out of their way to maximize usablity without app at all. @@shmurt11

    Thanks for the review Richard! I've a question for you about this slider... Does this slider start to make loud crick and crack sounds, while operating it, after a few times of usage? I bought the Zeapon Micro 3 with the motors and it's totally unusable if there are microphones involved while filming. There are very strong sounds coming out from the rails, near the center of the slider.
    I tried to contact zeapon about it and they never replied to my email...So I guess I'm forced to find a replacement for the Micro 3 slider and I hope this unit is going to work better for my needs. Thanks!

    Hi Richard, thanks for the comprehensive review of the Axis slider. I purchased the pro version and received it yesterday. The slider and pan head work perfectly, both with and without the app. However, the Pons PT head is not working at all. There is a red indicator light on the front when I insert the battery or plug it in via USB-C. When I try to connect it to the app, there is an error message. Do you know if there is a way to reset the Pons PT head or is something I'm doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

    I hope someday a slider company does interchangeable slider length rod, that can be changed depending on the use. I bought a 120 cm slider, which get barely use because it is so cumbersome to use. But on the other hand a smaller 80 cm might be too restrictive when you are shooting bigger things.

    Thank you for the review. A couple of questions: what’s the battery life like when running both axes on the one NPF battery? And can it connect to a camera shutter to perform Move-Shoot-Move time-lapses? Or does it just always move continuously? That could be a problem for night shots with long 30 second exposures. Thanks!

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry can't answer the battery life question as i haven't really test that or did any long recording/time lapse in one go.
      But for time lapse, you can set up the "shutter" time so it would wait for that then move. You should also checkout the optional Zeapon Timelapse Trigger as well: th-cam.com/video/tsUMVKfVdNI/w-d-xo.html

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have to say I feel both are reasonably good and I didn't notice much difference. But I haven't done any side by side comparison to compare. However when using in manual mode (ie. No motor), the micro3 is much more fluid it's much more dampened but I am not sure if it affects motorised mode

    Whats the travel speed from one end to the other at 100% speed? Im considering this slider for real estate work and need it to travel at least 12 cm/ second (5 inches/ second) for preferred results.

    • @TheRealRichardWong
      @TheRealRichardWong  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry i don't know of the exact speed, but i imagine it is slower than 12cm/s. You could look at the new HIGH SPEED version of Zeapon Micro3 which does give you exactly that speed: www.zeapon.com/high-speed-motor/
      btw, i'm curious, for real estate work, why can't you shoot at slower speed and then play it back at higher speed instead? Given that the scene is usually static (i assume?). Would be great if you can share with me the reasons behind that :)

    • @DapperArtImagery

      @TheRealRichardWong Hi Richard. Thanks for asking! The workflow with my team requires me to operate quickly when shooting on location. Sometimes there are dynamic elements such as ceiling fans and fireplaces that arent entirely static. The new high speed motor you listed for the Micro 3 can go up to 12.8cm/s, which is perfect for my needs. Thank you for the reference!
