TH-cam his old band Shout "live" at Cornerstone 1989. Go to 22 minutes (for example), Shazam it and it will tell you the song. Why? Coz it's not live. Miming in NINETEEN EIGHTY NINE!!! Decades of deception.
You can sing or hum or even whistle a tune into Shazam and it can recognize it, so I am not sure what your point is here. There are definitely some other things in that video that look suspect though.

Agreed, and as Ken said, other top performers also do some of the same (to greater or lesser degrees). This could have all blown over very quickly. Instead, Ken has kind of painted himself into a corner. We know he can sing and play, he just doesn't need to hide the bits he can't do as well anymore, or can't do at all. We'd all cut him some slack for age and voice changes.
This was a super fun watch. FIl (Wings of Pegasus) deserves an award. The real tragedy is KT can sing and can play guitar. He should just come clean with his own limitations. @KarlWATP I have been watching Ken and was fascinated by all his students. I thought he had taught them to sing, but you guys should look th m up. They were all achieved singers before he was their coach. One of them even toured through Japan, but Ken does not mention that on his videos. We are left to assume they learned it from him. This was the most frustrating thing for me, as someone learning to better my vocals.

@@mitchaelhollingsworth1698 I bought a Squier for 150 and i love it. It is very ergonomic, light weight and I play better on it and it sounds great. Once you plug it in to an amp it sounds like an expensive Fender. The tuners and bridge are cheap but you can easily replace them with better quality components. The single coil pickups sound just like an American fender and are practically noiseless. Fender or their Squier division makes some quality cheap guitars.
Wings of Pegasus may not be in on it with him, but he's done nothing but get this guy WAY more views/clicks and attention than he had before and now he's is using to his Advantage and thats not nonsense. Not for any man that has a natural deep bass range. i doubt that someone like Richard Sterban could hit even low second tenor. For him mid or upper baritone might have been his upper range at his peak range level. There are likely other men who couldn't hit a mid tenor note, who well down into the bass range.
I don't. I feel badly for Fil. He didn't ask for this mess. He was asked to analyze a video, which he did. He found that there was a backing track, which would have been okay except that it had lead vocals on it from a studio recording from 1990. He was then attacked by Ken. Ken double downed on the lie that all of the singing was live in the live performance. ~ I think Fil would have preferred, after the first video analysis, to go onto another request. However, because of Ken's gaslighting, Fil decided to dive even further. He found that Ken was playing a note on his guitar that can't be played on that particular make of guitar. ~ Fil made one last video about this whole mess and clearly stated he would not be making any more about the Ken "situation". He has moved on. But, almost all of my You Tube recommendations are now other content creators commenting on the Ken Tamplin versus Wings of Pegasus fight. There was no versus. There was no fight. ~ We'll never know if Ken is negatively affected by this because he's already proven, that despite being Christian, he will lie, double down and name call. ~ Hopefully other You Tube content creators who want to, will have their say and move on as Fil has done.

this guy faking the guitar solo doesn't even make sense. like what's the rationale behind doing that? he knows the video will be scrutinized, he knows video can be slowed down, he has to know that his playing will never match up 100% with the recording--that would be basically impossible--and it seems like he *can* play it but just faked it anyway? like yeah the playing doesn't line up with the music, but why would he do it this way? it's like he already shot himself in the foot with faking singing, and now he's deliberately shooting himself in the other foot while everyone is watching
reasons I can think of 1. Time. If he's doing lessons and this and that, he just wants to record a video and get it out, not spend 10 takes to get singing and playing perfectly 2. Mistakes are edited out because it's still a commercial for a course and while we technically understand even professional singers make mistakes all the time, when it's a vocal coach we unreasonably expect perfection, so he just polishes it for that reason 3. Saving his voice. If he's doing lessons and singing and video recording, he rather records the covers on his down time and just mimes the video when he's already in the studio after lessons. Basically, reasons could be entirely practical and understandable. Obviously Ken CAN sing, but reasons could be entirely practical. For example this is a singing channel too and most of my videos are mimed purely for practical reasons like time constraints, technical constraints, forgot to press record button, camera going blurry mid recording, different mic settings needed for different parts of the song etc. It's just so much easier to singthrough the whole song once or twice when it's finished. I believe the majority of reasons are something like that. Though it's still shitty of Ken to deny it. Like why, it's clearly obvious, just explain why you do it. So I get the hate there at least

And I still think what Ken is doing is not ok, he should admit it's mimed, but explain why. and ofc if it's supposed to be a l.ivestream with live singing, yea that's horrible that it's mimed, that shouldn't happen. But mimed music videos are entirely normal. Show me your favorite singer on yt and I'll show you where they mime. We all know it works that way. The bad part about Ken isn't the lip syncing (except on livestream), it's denying the obvious and refusing to explain why. Even at gigs. Dimash lip synced all his TV performances ever. Mariah Carey had playback, beyonce mimes, and I dont think anyone would deny they CAN sing.

Yo recomiendo el curso de ken. A mi me sirvió lo que enseña Ken, yo no podía cantar rock y entre al curso de ken hace un mes cuando lo puso a un dólar. Aclaro que yo tengo años aprendiendo el método SLS que Ken critica pero a mi me sirvió mucho, y haciendo los ejercicios de Ken logre en un mes desarrollar potencia en mi voz, si bien sabia hacer la famosa voz mixta, llegando a los agudos con cuerpo sin lastimarme pero no podía, tener esa voz agresiva del Rock y ahora si puedo. Existen varias maneras de hacer Marketing, 1) Generando contenido controversial. 2) Prometiendo lograr objetivos en corto tiempo. 3) Contenido de entretenimiento disfrazado de aprendizaje. Muy poca gente busca, el verdadero conocimiento, la mayoría prefieren ver los logros de los demás y que les prometan que con tal o cual curso lo conseguirán.
Here's the link to Ken doing the whole song. The solo part that Fil plays is towards the end of the whole solo. So, it's only a portion of the solo of the whole solo that Fil shows in his video. Or that you put on your channel from Fil. The link is to the whole song. The video is titled, "Holdin" On - Ken Tamplin". Actually, you might want to type in the title in TH-cam since sometimes the video from clicking the link does not sync very well. Which is part of what's happening in Fil's video and then you're putting Fil's video on your video, and it becomes a mess. In my opinion, Ken is actually playing every guitar part. Obviously, he's playing a track that has other parts on it. Even if it's a recording of the solo playing, Ken is playing the exact part on the guitar. After he does the solo and starts singing again, there's is filler soloing that he is not playing along with on the guitar. Instead, he's doing the rhythm parts as he's singing. There's another guitarist that has recorded with him on albums that is playing those parts. I'm sure Ken has practiced many hours - just this song alone that it's second nature to him. this guy faking the guitar solo doesn't even make sense. like what's the rationale behind doing that? he knows the video will be scrutinized, he knows video can be slowed down, he has to know that his playing will never match up 100% with the recording--that would be basically impossible--and it seems like he *can* play it but just faked it anyway? like yeah the playing doesn't line up with the music, but why would he do it this way? it's like he already shot himself in the foot with faking singing, and now he's deliberately shooting himself in the other foot while everyone is watching
And he has as many takes as he needs
reasons I can think of
1. Time. If he's doing lessons and this and that, he just wants to record a video and get it out, not spend 10 takes to get singing and playing perfectly
2. Mistakes are edited out because it's still a commercial for a course and while we technically understand even professional singers make mistakes all the time, when it's a vocal coach we unreasonably expect perfection, so he just polishes it for that reason
3. Saving his voice. If he's doing lessons and singing and video recording, he rather records the covers on his down time and just mimes the video when he's already in the studio after lessons.
Basically, reasons could be entirely practical and understandable. Obviously Ken CAN sing, but reasons could be entirely practical. For example this is a singing channel too and most of my videos are mimed purely for practical reasons like time constraints, technical constraints, forgot to press record button, camera going blurry mid recording, different mic settings needed for different parts of the song etc. It's just so much easier to singthrough the whole song once or twice when it's finished.
I believe the majority of reasons are something like that. Though it's still shitty of Ken to deny it. Like why, it's clearly obvious, just explain why you do it. So I get the hate there at least

And I still think what Ken is doing is not ok, he should admit it's mimed, but explain why.
and ofc if it's supposed to be a l.ivestream with live singing, yea that's horrible that it's mimed, that shouldn't happen. But mimed music videos are entirely normal. Show me your favorite singer on yt and I'll show you where they mime. We all know it works that way. The bad part about Ken isn't the lip syncing (except on livestream), it's denying the obvious and refusing to explain why. Even at gigs. Dimash lip synced all his TV performances ever. Mariah Carey had playback, beyonce mimes, and I dont think anyone would deny they CAN sing.

Hola, yo lo que veo es Marketing por parte de Ken y esta bien, la gente le gusta ese tipo de contenido, cuanto mas falso mejor.
También veo desde hace años, como la gente se destruye una a otra, acá en internet, se hacen guerras con videos constantemente, y bueno así es el ser humano, le gusta destruirse así mismo.
Yo recomiendo el curso de ken.
A mi me sirvió lo que enseña Ken, yo no podía cantar rock y entre al curso de ken hace un mes cuando lo puso a un dólar.
Aclaro que yo tengo años aprendiendo el método SLS que Ken critica pero a mi me sirvió mucho, y haciendo los ejercicios de Ken logre en un mes desarrollar potencia en mi voz, si bien sabia hacer la famosa voz mixta, llegando a los agudos con cuerpo sin lastimarme pero no podía, tener esa voz agresiva del Rock y ahora si puedo.
Existen varias maneras de hacer Marketing,
1) Generando contenido controversial.
2) Prometiendo lograr objetivos en corto tiempo.
3) Contenido de entretenimiento disfrazado de aprendizaje.
Muy poca gente busca, el verdadero conocimiento, la mayoría prefieren ver los logros de los demás y que les prometan que con tal o cual curso lo conseguirán.

Here's the link to Ken doing the whole song. The solo part that Fil plays is towards the end of the whole solo. So, it's only a portion of the solo of the whole solo that Fil shows in his video. Or that you put on your channel from Fil. The link is to the whole song. The video is titled, "Holdin" On - Ken Tamplin". Actually, you might want to type in the title in TH-cam since sometimes the video from clicking the link does not sync very well. Which is part of what's happening in Fil's video and then you're putting Fil's video on your video, and it becomes a mess. In my opinion, Ken is actually playing every guitar part. Obviously, he's playing a track that has other parts on it. Even if it's a recording of the solo playing, Ken is playing the exact part on the guitar. After he does the solo and starts singing again, there's is filler soloing that he is not playing along with on the guitar. Instead, he's doing the rhythm parts as he's singing. There's another guitarist that has recorded with him on albums that is playing those parts. I'm sure Ken has practiced many hours - just this song alone that it's second nature to him.
