Do you have the other sonics to play it with. I'm sure you already know how you can load them into the top to play as knuckls but I believe only in sonic 2 and 3, I feel like I remember it didn't work in sonic 1 but maybe I'm remembering this wrong. Either way it makes them so much easier it feels like cheating. I beat sonic 1 back in the day legit no cheats no knuckles and it wasn't easy being 7 or 8. No saves no passwords I'm sure many people these days would struggle.
First off the wall looks great mike👍, not a bad collection of games there. I used to play european club soccer a lot but it has an exploit with the goal so easy to win😊. James bond the dual I put many hours into. Castle of illusion is one of my favourites. Empire of steal is a great shmup. Also I'm very pleased you managed to get pirates of dark water , despite the cost . some games are just expensive and rare and yours is in great condition🤩. Another great video mike
I'll always remember my first paycheque after I left school. I went immediately to Woolworths in my home town and bought Mortal Kombat on the Megadrive as soon as I left work. I've recently started collecting Megadrive as it's always been the console that reminded me of the best times and people I lost. So far I have managed to get about 75 games through selling other bits I didn't need and even ended up paying some prices I never thought I'd pay such as £120 for Soleil and £70 for Truxton and Daffy Duck lol. Great video and it's great to see other people out here collecting like this...albeit to a much more high level. Edit: I'm also scared of Shmups! I think because I have terrible spacial awareness so can't see the 'bullets' coming for me often.

I remember my buddy and I trying for the longest time to figure out how to get Reptile from the cryptic in-game clues. Man, I was trying to hard to find you a nice copy of Pirates of Dark Water--the NA release--to tide you over until you got the PAL version. Each copy I found was cart only though and most were utterly trashed. BUT--glad you got it because this is an AMAZING game--I love it!
I've been a fan of Genesis boxes, black spine or red spine, the clamshells are always great, I was disappointed when sonic 3d Blast came in a cardboard box. I'm happy for you that there's so little mega drive games in cardboard boxes. I always wished the North American box of MK1 was like yours, although red spines were cool, that cover looks so much better without it By the way cool pick ups. Glad you're able to share with us
Empire of steel is a massive shooter on the Megadrive especially for the U.K. pal as so few shooters got that U.K. release it’s a great game, Gain ground is more of a chill out game for me I can see why you were disappointed though as it does receive a lot of hype the original arcade game is better but that’s usually the case lol Wow £600 on Dark water 😳that’s gone up mental in the last 2 years. It is a really tough game to find in good condition chuffed that you have managed to get it finally as it is a great game. I'm a long way off just a full UK collection. I have 330. The full PAL set scares me, the 14 Brazil games, the 2 Elitserien games, the Australian Classics set, I have no idea where to even start looking to get these. I do have a CIB Lakers Vs Celtics which makes things a little easier.
The video wall looks great, I especially like both the retro tvs. The smaller flat screen looks good for video purposes but for practical purposes you could only stand and game on it for so long, obviously for like a two player game. But it does give it that store video game department feel which is kinda cool and nostalgic.
Ya, it's inspired by a Sega And I saw in the early 90s where there is a wall of TVs. I wanted to capture the essence of that Ad and bring some of my childhood in the games room. Ace tag BTW.

Ah, a superb choice with Pirates of Dark Water to have for your Mega Drive collection Mike. Glad you achieved the goal on having the most expensive game in it's library. The cartoon from Hanna-Barbara was fantastic to watch. Well written, excellent voice acting, and vibrant animation. But sadly, the series was never completed and production halted abruptly after the show was getting closure to it's ending. Shame really. It was very enjoyable for sure. Anthony..

I think you did the right thing getting that one off your list, really hard to find CIB and in good shape?...if you left that game too late, it will only get a lot harder to get hold of, and more than likely even more costly. Do you know I'm struggling with Wily Wars. Definitely PODW is harder to get so I'm really happy with this but WW is becoming a pain, and it seems to have doubled in price over the last 6 months.
Great finds! Steel Empire...well Empire of Steel, is really good, some slowdown here and there but the steampunk theme and graphics are great, same for the music. Talking about music, the first to games you mentined both have music by Matt Furniss, if you don't like too much those games, his music is enough reason to own them for sure. Yeah, some people love Gain Ground, I'm not one of them, I think you need to put more time into it to really start enjoying it but for me is a big pass. Still cool you got it. That Pirates of Dark Water looks really good visually, I've never played it but knew about it. I should check it out.
It's a decent game. It won't set your world on fire but it has sub missions you can take on and different characters can be more beneficial on certain levels.

@@RetroGamerBoy idk but I sure did buy a lot of them when they were going out of business in 2011 mostly 360 games, but also ps3 and wii games. But there stickers were sale stickers and not as cool as these Shiney silver stickers on cartridges. In America we had some of the shiny silver stickers possibly a later sticker they came out with, but I remember more the white sticker with value letters, I probably have a sega genisis(so odd it called the mega drive over there, I'm sure you feel the inverse way) game or two with them on it maybe ns4 as well.
@@RetroGamerBoy i also meant to say I had one of the last blockbusters that I know of to close other than the one on the Netflix special. It closed in 2013 crazy because it was the same year my dad died of cancer, we used to always rent movies and do the rewards program, so we would come home with one new movie and one or two old ones. I miss being able to physically walk into a store to pick out a movie to rent and maybe even pick up a used game or two or rent as well. I think the location in talking about that closed in 2013 was a franchise. It was fun to still be able to rent from them and buy used movies and games a whole two years after all the others closed. They even did one of those old school rent 5 for 5 days for 5$ deals on older titles, and that got me watching Mad Men, which helped make John Hamm and Elizabeth Moss famous. Also that girl who is appearantly married to David Franco and she is 3 years his senior lol like that matters, she was also on community, funny show, I don't remember her name or feel like looking it up. This was a bit of a long winded rant but I feel like sometimes the little details matter.

Wow those can be pricey. 007 is about £10-£15 and pretty much the same in Dollars. And that is boxed with manual.
I love it, but Gain Ground isn't for everyone. The best version is on PC Engine
Quite a few of my friends love the game. Fun is subjective, each to their own 👍
I am in the middle of collecting for the GameCube, sometimes you just have to walk away even if you want something really bad.

@@RetroGamerBoy idk but I sure did buy a lot of them when they were going out of business in 2011 mostly 360 games, but also ps3 and wii games. But there stickers were sale stickers and not as cool as these Shiney silver stickers on cartridges. In America we had some of the shiny silver stickers possibly a later sticker they came out with, but I remember more the white sticker with value letters, I probably have a sega genisis(so odd it called the mega drive over there, I'm sure you feel the inverse way) game or two with them on it maybe ns4 as well.
@@RetroGamerBoy i also meant to say I had one of the last blockbusters that I know of to close other than the one on the Netflix special. It closed in 2013 crazy because it was the same year my dad died of cancer, we used to always rent movies and do the rewards program, so we would come home with one new movie and one or two old ones. I miss being able to physically walk into a store to pick out a movie to rent and maybe even pick up a used game or two or rent as well. I think the location in talking about that closed in 2013 was a franchise. It was fun to still be able to rent from them and buy used movies and games a whole two years after all the others closed. They even did one of those old school rent 5 for 5 days for 5$ deals on older titles, and that got me watching Mad Men, which helped make John Hamm and Elizabeth Moss famous. Also that girl who is appearantly married to David Franco and she is 3 years his senior lol like that matters, she was also on community, funny show, I don't remember her name or feel like looking it up. This was a bit of a long winded rant but I feel like sometimes the little details matter.

Steel Empire is far more better than zero wing which is much more expensive to buy, gynog is a good one also. Hands down thunder force 4 is best.
So I have all of those except Thunder Force 4. I'm trying to work my way through all the Shmups, but they are expensive.
