And why are these two sitting almost on each other ?
My thoughts.. lol!!!!!!
@@bluepeter128 you'd think one of them would feel uncomfortable and shuffle back a bit.
@@lilac9639 I was thinking. Both were gay, men don't normally do that unless forced too.

I’m distracted by how close their chairs are during this interview.
Edit: I have zero issues with the seating arrangements, but it’s really distracting seeing two strangers sitting so close together.
Framing is important, if this is the amount of space that they have to work with. 🤣
They could have just kept the camera above their bellybuttons and then no one would have ever known how close their seats were.
Yes I agree with you I'm like that when someone sits next to me on public transport
I literally thought it was just me... 😮 that's not the usual right?! Lol... but that aside, powerful testimonial from Matt... wishing him well 😊❤
Ditto
Knees to Knees.
And their discussing about his sexuality
Me too😮
I love how their legs are locked during this interview
Are they both playing for the same team🤫🤡😉
We all like that. 👍🏿
Chairs are way too close. May as well sit on his knee, wrap his arm around his shoulder and do the interview 😮
😅😅😅
Can't be more intimate, right 😂
@@lordgaga27 lololol 😆 🤣
IDK maybe they like eachother in real life and they had a great conversation before the camera turned on....us gays move fast.
They ain't complaining and they ain't bothered we are projecting our own thoughts... nothing wrong with it, there both grown adults. And the artist ain't complaining about it.
We are mocking it like we are insecure about two people being too close..they ain't hurting anyone.
Maybe we should focus on the damn conversation in hand.
😂😂😂😂
I suspect he isn't the only one to have been treated like that. It's disgraceful and should stop. People should be allowed to be whoever they are.
John Duffy was treated horribly by Paula Abdul and Simon. Simon has made some of the most homophobic statements over the years.
Yh and the "I can't blame the show coz it gave me a career" no just no, if a company is causing mental health issues due to their prejudices then call them tf out, I hope more people come forward about how the x factor treated it's contestants
@@cjmiller6741 aint nun wrong with that
@@lv3234 There is a lot wrong with that. It's exploitation. Paula Abdul is fake AF.
The amount of Artists that have a story to tell after their experiences on Shows like The Voice, Idol, X Factor, Got Talent etc only goes to prove that the Shows don't care except for the ratings. You can blame the Artists all you want but we all know that these juggernauts of shows chew them up and spit them out before looking for the next sucker to exploit. Remember Artists to just use them up to get something out of it before they leave you in the dust behind them. A lot of the time you never hear about a particular Artist again, all the promises and sweet talk by the Show do not eventuate into anything.
And I wonder how many are forced to live these lies and fake public lives for years and years?
Excatly their main point and purpose is to create a reality show that catches peoples attention. The want drama, feuds, stories
Or... people LOVE to be victims. It gets them a news story and attention. It garners outrage and publicity. Maybe it's not the show, but it is this current climate of victimhood. Woe is me. Look what he said to me. Look how they treated me. I'm a victim.
Possible, there is some of that that goes on indeed. However, on the other hand, perhaps people are highlighting what they have been through so that others don't have to go through the same thing. Perhaps hoping that all people are treated fairly and equally and accepted for themselves rather than singled out and abused or forced to lie and hide because they are different
Their knees are practically touching. Think the interviewer was interested in more than an interview!
Knees did touch several times
Love knees touching its a come on moment
This is especially weird because the runner up, Saara Aalto, was openly gay at the time.
I think it goes to talk about “passing”, Saara was a heterosexual-cisgender passing, though she was out you could “forget” she was queer, she wasn’t “butch”. For men, specially men with mannerisms is a little more complicated
@Vi-lz8ev what about Rylan Clark? He was open about his sexuality and well mannerisms.
Louie Walsh is gay.
thats how misogyny works. a woman on woman same sex rship is lauded while a man who is not openly effeminate has to deny his sexuality . its about the suppression of feminine qualities and sensitivity. Heterosexual male toxic hypermasculity is okay with female gayness and sees it as a fantasy but uncomfortable with male homosexuality because its a mirror to their (capitalist men in power) own sensitivity. ultimately its about censoring gentleness and feminine creativity whether thats in men or women and exhaling a culture of domination.
Everyone's journey is highly personal. It's more to do with the inner situation he was in and whether he was comfortable to be open about how he felt - and the reality is that it's taken another several years for him to reach that point. Anyone growing up with non-heterosexual feelings will still have to face the process of 'coming out' and some never get there. It is probably marginally easier now than a decade ago but not much.
Poor guy, they should have just let him be himself!
Does he work at Tesco 😅
X factor has a lot to answer for.
Are we still debating this? Crazy!
Okay but why are they sitting so close 😭 like a little intimate....
So what??

I love Matt Terry!
It’s truly sad that in this day and age people are still facing this.
Not too long ago Gabrielle Union dealt with issues pertaining to her ethnic hair style.
Who are these higher ups trying to define people?
No more, this type of bigotry stops with me.
IT IS ONES THAT RULE MONEY THE ROUTE TO ANY AND ALL EVIL
Matt Terry was always the sweetest, most humble performer of that season. He is clearly telling the truth here since Simon Cowell even went out of his way to gay bash the same sex dancers in Matt's final performance on the show. I have no doubt he was NOT treated well, even with his incredible vocals. I wish him well!
Agreed. "I'm not sure what was going on down here. I just didn't get it." Yeah, it's called DANCING, Simon. All the other acts had dancers. Why were Matt's so "Distracting"!? I too have no doubt at all that anyone gay - or having the audacity not to pander to the straight audience - faced pushback from the execs. Because they want to "Sell, sell, sell" to the broadest possible audience, and they'd rather ERASE anyone remotely different, rather than EMBRACE that difference and use it as, oh, I dunno, A UNIQUE SELLING POINT!
Simon is a closeted gay person. He was too fearful to come out so he has platonic relationships with women who he calls his 'girlfriend'. He bought all of his ex girlfriends houses and has 'friendly' relationships with them...and never married the mother of his child. He is afraid of his own 'gayness' and sensitivity which is why he has a flimsy ego and narcissistic tendencies. He feels more secure after his son was born because he has problems with healthy love and attachment. Most people in power chasing money have a warped idea about love and healthy relationship. Everything is about fame, perception and status for them.
Simon Cowell avoided Dalton Harris like he was the plague when he won X Factor !
For some people it takes time to come out because of fear and judgement. Were born equal in this world no matter what sexuality you have. ♥️🇵🇭
For those asking about why they were sitting so close I would think its a 2 static camera and single person piece ( so no producers or camera operators) so interviewer needed to be in shot and looks like a small space where the interview took place so no opportunity for wide angle during the interview.
TRUE VERY POSSIBLE
why is that interviewer sitting so close to terry? they're practically sitting on each other....weird.
Probably gonna bottom for him later
Probably just supporting him for his issue.
Interviewer wants the D
None of the above. It's Matt's dressing room. The space is very small.
@@jonnyfendi2003 you are an idiot
He is still hot
Good for him. As a Gay man myself I never suspected he was Gay. As a ‘straight’ masculine looking and sounding guy myself I can relate. Matt Terry is a talented singer. Shame that had to happen to him. Being Gay is only one part of him. I wish him the best of luck and happiness with good health more importantly
You must be blind then, it was so obvious and no he’s not masculine in the slightest. Terry is full of it, the woman who came second was openly gay and there’s been plenty of openly gay contestants. He was just in denial and bad at hiding his relationship with another contestant. When it’s that obvious just be yourself already instead of being fake. Guy is just trying to get attention because his career failed.
It was very obvious to me lol
@sf9746 me too! Every week I was telling a friend at school who watched it that I was convinced he was gay and she didn’t believe it. Then when he won I let it go and forgot who he was because his career didn’t work out unfortunately for him. Then a few weeks ago he pops up on my news feed after all these years and I was like I WAS RIGHT AFTER ALL 😝😝
@@just-russ-83 There's been plenty of gay effeminate people on the show who have made it to the finals or won starting from the very first shows with people like Will Young and that guy Noel from hearsay. I never seen these guys claiming homophobia. The world has gotten so thin skinned you can't even give constructive advice or joke about most things any more.
Lmaoooo GURRRRL it was so obvious💀😂 I mean if he thought he was "hiding it" then maybe he wasn't doing a great job at it then because I knew right away. I was like... "hi little fairy...come out come out wherever you are .. ;) " You must be REALLY blind if you didn't know because I remember telling my mother that he was gay from the start. I mean come on! I get that some people aren't obvious but for him it was completely just all out there.... 💀
I love Matt, I did on the XFactor, I met him back in 2017. I’ve never met anyone so warm, kind and caring. No one should be forced to come out. I’m so proud of him. ❤
Keep telling your truth. The truth will always help someone else.
There is no “your truth “ only THE truth
@@jonnyfendi2003Amen! 👏
So proud of you Matt since day one❤❤❤
Good for him. I'm glad he can be himself and I wish him all the very best for the future.
He looks like he could be the son of Benedict Cumberbatch. Am I the only one who sees the resemblance? haha
I don't see it.
I see the resemblance too 😊
Benedict Cumberbatch x Adam Lambert x Louis Tomlinson
I believe him and I think in the industry there are many cases of descrimination for being or look gay, even though they show to the world that they're open minded but they are not. Those who have struggled against all this unfare situation are the ones who have kept themselves somehow in the business. X factor, The Voice, Got Talent, have a lot to explain about it. By the way He´s gorgeous and talented.
I had no idea Matt was gay. I always had a crush on him back when I was watching their season.
be who you want to be, not how others would like to see you - BE PROUD OF YOURSELF
First thing I noticed as well was just how close they were sitting to each other. It looks very odd.
His vocals on the x factor were mind-blowing 🔥🔥
Good for you Matt!!!! Proud of you and excited to see you flying freely and embracing your authentic self. I wish you nothing but continued success and a journey of inspired creativity ahead. And you are absolutely telling the truth when you said that there was absolutely NO support at that time provided for the contestants. I was there and I remember thinking how shocking it was that so many young people were being offered the hope of a dream which would then be snatched away from them unceremoniously, leaving the devastated contestants to just try and make their own way back to reality. I hope things have improved since then.
Why they are seated too closed? Interesting...
FEEL THE SAME .
Well done to you Matt , stick to your natural self & convictions & " always on your terms " & being true to yourself . All the best from a 78 yrs old ❤
😢 so sad but I happy that he’s moving forward and making music
"Diverse Backgrounds" is not inclusive to diverse sexualities and identities...just, that they love to showcase African, Asians, Caucasians, and any mix you can imagine as well as religious upbringings.
Everyone in the comments being chairphobic rn 😭
We must try to fight against furniture phobia!
You can't be too Gay darlin ❤
Y are they sitting close like dat 😂😂😂😂
Small space in Matt's dressing room. Y do you care?
shouldn't you be worried more about the 1st of the month?
Being gay does not define who you are. You define who you are.
X Factor still exists in the UK? I have not watched it for years.
It hasn't been on since 2018 (and a celebrity one in 2019).
The point is.. His voice, NOT his sexualality!! He has such a beautiful voice, and I love his voice.. STOP putting your opinions on someone of who or what they are!! YOU DON'T KNOW THEM!!
You go on X factor and they own you. Well, dur.
Thats like saying "you join the navy and they put you on a ship"
True, but the navy at least learnt they have no right to control people's personal lives or make them tell lies, hide the truth or live fake lives in order to keep their jobs.
0:47 man they are sitting REALLY close together
look i had the same question but when i read comments, i choose not to ask, but why???
ps. I remember he said his GF broke with her during his audition??? and sang a revenge song as well "YOU DON'T OWN ME", I AM NOT ONE OF YOUR TOYS", so he himself was hiding his sexuality. And don't expect anyone to support you or be kind to you all the time. we are all same, being gay or else don't matter. and why now???
I never thought he was gay and he has always been giving me that One Direction look. Wasn’t it even rumored that he’s dating or in romance with his former X-factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger 😅
You mean a "showmance?"
Nope! There was never that rumour.
This is so funny, cause remembering watching that season... I was almost CERTAIN he had the biggest crush on Nicole and they were secretly together lol. But.. knowing this now.. I'm 100% glad and happy he found his way into the industry without having to left his true self behind. Best wishes forever, Matt!
I dunno if this is right or wrong, and it it would make a difference in the outcome but... didn't he audition claiming "my girlfriend left me" or something..?! What would things could have been if he said it was a guy?! guess we'll never know
His hairstyle makes his head looks like a capsule
F society and their expectations. Pick up an instrument forget about the adoration. You don't need it.
...There is so much room for everyone in this world to love freely.👌👏👏👏
Simon even said on his final performance he didn't get the dancers...2 girls, 2 boys and a hetero couple. It's his fing show....watch it.
😂😂😂😂I was just thinking about how close they were, then I read the comments.😂😂😂😂😂
Their knees were almost touching.
Because of the small space in the dressing room.
To talk about a subject like this I don’t think it’s wise to position chairs so damn close during the interview 😭
Matt is so cute❤
It worked. They did the seats close on purpose to get everyone talking and you all fell for it.

Didn't his season also mention he had a girlfriend at the time or am I misremembering this?
Yea " a GURRRRL-friend 💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽"💀😂😂
X Factor was the biggest bully on TV
And if this were an issue for an AMERICAN silly TV talent show, this video would have received 50-million views/hits, with rage and venom in the comments section, and there would be ongoing protests in the streets in every over-subsidized corner of the EU from Catalonia to Bavaria to Middelfart, Denmark . .. Gee, imagine the Tik-Tok blow-up.
Well,...with all due repsect to Terry, and this important conversation,..i still believe there was absolutely no need,..for the news reporter' s chair to be so,..so,..close to his chair,..😂
This interview is in the dressing room of Matt, so perhaps the space is small. Get over it.
They always come out with something when a song is coming out. After all, has anyone heard about him in years?
I've never heard of him until now.
Maybe they are friends! I thinks it’s kind to mirror him. Showing solidarity!!!
He is fine as hell
Umm he does look gay. ❤❤ edit: talk the talk & walk the walk. You didn’t come out in 2016 but now you say to the Young ones, to come out 😂😂
I am sorry, but why their legs caressing each other? That’s way too close for a formal interview. 😂
It's great that he can be who he is but don't play the victim
they are actually 'SCISSORING"
This is just bizarre of people who clearly aren’t Gay yet so interested in commenting on such matters. Y’all are creepy.
They’re chairs are too close. He’s sitting in that man’s lap!
at the time i just assumed he was gay and it didnt change my opinion on his singing. Didnt like his voice then and dont now. The whole year was pretty poor tbh
He is such a handsome man. I don't see how just looking at him makes you think he is gay, who cares. They are in a small dressing room with not much space for Matt and the crew needed 5o fdo the interview. Who cares how close they are sitting, can't you think of something else ito say.
Adam Lambert suffered greatly from being gay with a public flamboyant image yet today he has risen above that bias and he is greatly appreciated as an artist.sort of a male lady Gaga, lol. Gaga writes her own music and is in a class by herself. Even Adele does not reach the audience like Lady Gaga does. Her super bowl half-time show is the best halftime show ever.
As rupaul says ' if they ain't paying ur bills pay them bitches no mind ' and this is good to follow and people been talking since the beginning of time ' I'd say who cares on what other people say or think just be you and live ur life the way you want and everyone else can't just sit it and rotate !! And those who did say stuff they were just jealous cuz how far you went and the fact that you won cuz they themselves could even do that much
It's It's really about judgement it's more so about the treatment. Ignoring isn't going to help his situation because that's literally what he's been doing all this time. Ignoring what's been happening did not and will not help gay men of what they go through. Saying ignore or basic hide isn't going to fix but repeat the excruciating moments and experiences they still are currently dealing with. What will help is people actually supporting and standing up for them more.
Xfactor and BGT have destroyed lives allegedly
Funnily enough, only of those who thought they were going to be successful.
In America we would sue them for a few million dollars. He should do that, on principle ❤
Well....they weren't wrong 😂
Sad & he’s so amazing! Xo 😘 💜
so sad the media and society are still like this...
Thank you for sharing.😊
I like the wat Matt's knee is "accidentally" lightly brushing against the interviewer's knee. 😂 Hot !
Why .make an issues regarding the sexuality of a person...?????? Let them live the way they are.....
Why are they sitting so so close ?? 😂
Who cares about chairs touching or his sexuality, vocal range was amazing, he has talent, its terrible thing to be scrutinised or judged for what someone thinks you should or shouldn't be,just let them get on with their crafts, be the best they can be without judgement

im soooo happy for you Matt
I have recorded my first album Warchild in 2007.
The album talks about my life as a refugee, growing up on my own and my family all wrapped in melodic pop songs that sound like love songs.
They saw my presentation. I was rejected because I was openly gay. Also because "if you were blond, you would sell more records" !
I had offers to perform in the US. One of the biggest music blogs in the US "discovered" me!
They said I should change my "presentation" and asked why I was wearing makeup (Sorry Adam Lambert. I did it first).
I was repeatedly asked to take part in "The Voice". I never did! I am not stupid.
I rejected all the offers. No one is forcing you to stay on a TV show! Leave.
I am an early childhood educator and happy today. Still singing but not selling my soul, neither my ass!
We all have choices.
I actually have never heard of him.
Meanwhile, David Archiletta celebrates X-factor judge Paula Abdul even after some subtle homophobia against X-factor contestant John Duffy. Per Usual, Simon was particularly homophobic. The remarks Simon used to make on American Idol regarding Ryan Seacrest were especially homophobic, and RS isn't even gay. Of course, Paula is fond of sleeping with male contestants, so if she doesn't want sex with them, they'll not likely have had her support.
Let the past go, little buddy. Your blood pressure will go up like this lmaooo 💀😂
