Oh by far, This video is one of my all-time favorites of yours! Thank you for a multitude of goodies: drone footage adds so much perspective highlighting rich topography; ahh and the hacienda, so colorfully textured; you killed it with your steak dinner and all the other fab food!! Great editing, birds, flowers. Ha! I need to get outa Cuenca and see this gorgeous country. Muchísimas gracias😘
Sharon thank you so much! I do love adding the drone, unfortunately the altitude, wind + no fly zones have been tough to navigate. On top of my own fear of crashing it yet again! And yes I love southern Ecuador but head to the north for a break because it is absolutely stunning.
So nice to see places like this where anyone can spend time relaxing and appreciating nature. Also nice to see they 'let nature take its course' inside the park. In the future I plan to explore all the beauty Ecuador has to offer.
You'll notice my hands weren't in it. I have a really hard time with dough whether it be bread, pastry or pasta. It's my cooking nemesis. Now the aji on the other hand, I'm good with a pestle and mortar.
It's a foggy spring morning in the US but it's nice to watch beautiful Ecuador while drinking my cafe ☕️ The views relax me and take me away from everything. I truly enjoy your videos. 😍🙌🙏
@@ayngelina ye!!! I’m Ecuadorian. I live in USA and I took my husband to Cotopaxi years ago we loved it. Next time we’ll have stay in Hacienda el Povenir 😌🥰
El tostado me gusta mas comerlo dulce o sea con panela y se lo llama caqui perro, las veces que voy a quito compro caqui perro, me encanta! Hermosas vistas como siempre!
Ecuador is stunning! Thanks for sharing. I was just there two weeks ago. The biggest shock to this stateside American was that you can't flush toilet paper. 😳 Everything else about this country was beautiful!
Simply beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Question: How much does it cost to stay at this place? I went to their website but did not find their rates. Definitely would like to go there next time we are in Ecuador. Again, thank you!
I never list the prices in Ecuador because they vary so much depending on when you go, what day of the week, how many people and what room. And of course right now there are a lot of deals encouraging local travel. I don't want to list a price and then someone else gets a completely different one. BUT , I believe they have a whatsapp so I think you could just text them. Honestly when we went there I was shocked at how reasonable the price was. I was expecting 2-3 times higher.
I prefer rare steak too! That looked amazing. I appreciate how they use the entire animal. What a wonderful ranch! Did you see condors? I think it's great they allowed the carcass to remain so that the birds could feed. Not an extreme hiker here either, so it's good to know that the views are still great without the climbing.
We didn't see any condors. There were tons the day before so I think they were done feeding. But if you look closely you'll see we scared a fox away. Condors are so tough to find, I think there are less than 100 in Ecuador so they really try to be aware of helping them without disturbing nature by actually feeding them.
This is another wonderfully put together video! We're glad you cut into the steak at Porvenir. We can only imagine the lighting may have contributed to the visual, however At the (12:40) mark, it initially appeared as if the beef was not seared. Once you sliced it, you truly did it a ton of justice visually. It looked delicious. You ordered the steak exactly as we would have (RARE). Was this a steak designed for two people? Do you recall the price? Thanks for sharing!
The lighting was a bit yellow, which is always an issue. I try to shoot most food outdoors and in natural light when I can. I can't remember the price, I want to say $18. And while I am sure some people order it for one person, Andres and I always share when we're filming because we have to eat so much.
@@ayngelina Yes, I'm often amazed at how much lighting can change or distort the image. Outdoors makes a lot of sense. It looked like a great portion for 2 non triathlon athletes (us). Given the presentation, ambiance, and portions, it seems $18 would be an excellent value! You're doing such beautiful work!
Nice video. Congratulations. I love quinoa soup, since I was a child. My mother usted to cook for my family. It's a shame that soup and other ones of the traditional sierra meals are not served frequently as it was years ago. Any time I have a chance to try it, I do it.

@@anneporter123 I don’t include prices because it’s not like North America where there are standard prices. It depends on day of week, time of year, how many people and how long you stay. Hahaha well I've had the drone all along but it is challenging in Ecuador. A lot of the cities have no fly zones, the coast can be too windy, highlights have altitude warnings and so many trees in the cloud forests. So when I get a big open space I like to put it to work.
