Tuf laptops used to have a serious issues with the hinge where it would become stiff or worse break (like in my case). I am using the tuf fx505dy and after 2 years of using it the plastic part where the hinges were screwed into broke. I am not sure if the newer models still have that problem or not but I would recommend anyone buying tuf laptops to go to service center and loose the hinge a little.

If you don't get above 8hrs of battery life while web browsing with a 90Whr battery and a RYZEN processor, then you are using the laptop wrongly on battery. Most likely your dGPU is on. With the TUF A15 QHD and this 90Whr + 7940HS expect 650 mins of YT video playback in the lowest performance mode.

You bet! 4K HDR YT video on high refresh rate and 2.5k res with above normal brightness. Like how a normal user should watch their content I don’t think it’ll even last proper 9 hrs.
@@amindaher12I can't find one that only has the 780m. Download gpu-z and check in there to make sure that's not the only GPU in the system.

@@loloseiz since purchasing I’ve bought a 4090 desktop pc as a desktop was more suited to what I was after. It all depends on what your going to use it for it’s a good laptop for gaming and gaming on the go and runs all triple a titles with ease. I use mine now when I wanna take my games with me

Anyone got this laptop? I got this laptop with the qhd 165hz screen and I'm having issues with the integrated graphics 780m. I keep getting driver timeout errors and the screen blacks out and reloads. it will crash when trying to go to the hdr section of windows display settings or to try to calibrate hdr. It's a shame that my unit has started to show sign of display bleed after two day of doing something.
I got with this laptop in warzone 2 external ultra widescreen at 3440x1440 all settings to high around 100 fps and average gpu temperature 70 degrees of Celsius

Undervolt cpu cause lost like 15-20fps in games.

I updated to the official latest drivers using GeForce experience i didn't really face any issue
@@TECHDROIDSYT ah ok. I get terrible stuttering using the latest Nvidia driver. I had to download the one from ASUS' website and I still have the issue, but slightly improved. Idk what is causing it.
@@pedrwmit's probably a CPU throttling issue, uninstall armoury crate and install g-helper and disable CPU boost
@@midhunv5973 Or set max TDP to 60-65 W instead of "default" 80W. Ryzen 9 7940HS TDP range is 35-54W, it is (going to be) totally unsafe to run it on 80W, even with this good cooling system in A15 laptops.

Good afternoon, thanks for your review! I recently took an asus tuf gaming f17 with 13900h, rtx4060 and a 2k display, the processor and video card heat up to 85-90 in games (the witcher, cyberpunk), the video memory also heats up to the same temperatures. What is the reason? Could it be a defect? The laptop is lifted, nothing interferes with the air.
Use a laptop cooler, use external monitor, go to power options, dont let the cpu to work at 100%, down it to 97% in performance mode ( for maximum vents) and you will get more healthier temperatures with no sacricing a single fps. We have g15 rog strix, doing this, and the temperatures went down from 80-90 to 60-65 and no performance loss.

Hi. I have a problem with this laptop. My gpu don't use always 100%. I tried warzone if I set all low my gpu usage is like 50% and 100 fps if I set all to ultra gpu usage go to 97% and still 100 fps. Why I have only 100 fps with all setting

Im deciding between these two as well. The helios neo is roughly same price with 2k hd monitor but its intel so only 2:30 hr battery life doing work and 2.6kg. Im prob buying this for the over 6h battery life and 2.2kg weight

@@frng97you are never getting 6 hours on this thing 😂 maybe if it had a radeon GPU it could have pulled off a 6:30 battery but this one gives around 3:00 hours
And i think neo 16 gives more battery life than this one from some review not my opinion.
My tuf a15 arrived last week swapped in ax210 wifi card added a kingston fury renegade ssd and yes i got 5-6hrs doing word and chrome work. 7940hs when disabling the 4060 dgpu has insanely low power consumption. I might switch the 16gb of ram to 32gb 5600mhz later on.@@darkvoid1311

bro there is no difference in batteries both model. I am using the A15 rtx4070 model and my battery almost goes 8 hour in silent mode. you can buy zephyrus g15 for its display or thinnes but battery is same with A15

For pure performance i9 is better. However since you are buying a laptop which will also often work on battery life, R9 absolutely blows i9 out of the water in terms of power efficiency and performance on battery life. Ryzen also gives you much better battery life.

If you use all the battery optimisations and use it in power efficiency mode I think you can stretch to 5-6 hours

Now, this ASUS TUF Gaming A15 2023 model is 5-6 times faster than that 10 years old laptop, its GPU is more than 10 times faster. So, yes, it will run about everything... :)

@@whateverm8t i got the 1080p 4060 one recently if you dont mind 1080p get the 4060. Remember to swap out the realtek wifi card to a intel ax210. The wifi card is located under the original ssd and shitty realtek has problems when ssd heats up.

@@greenblood6859 Ram brands does not matter. Ram speed, type, latency is important. For ssd, if you are going to make a Raid 0 setup, you need to have same sdd better. Just look the ram code on the laptop so find the same specs, not same manufacturer.

I have the same PC as yours but with Ryzen 7 7735hs and an NVIDIA rtx 4060 purchased on the official Asus website.
I did a benchmark with 3d mark (steel nomad) and I got aberrant results. 1270 dx12 with 12.70 fps!! and it changes when I make updates but nothing conclusive. I did all the updates (Bios, drivers, windows, NVIDIA graphics card) but nothing to do. Do you have a solution please?
Open armory crate and select ultimate mode

And use msi afterburner and please tell me the temp bcoz I have the same model but it heats too much. For example as soon as I open a game the cpu reaches 95° and GPU reaches 80°btw I am not using any cooler but I lifted the laptop a little bit so that it could pass some air. @@paparansen because I use a vertical stand with thunderbolt dock. It really makes everything cleaner. Used to own a GL702VM and that dock worked like a charm.

It can play 1440p but not at ultra settings also you should probably turn on dlss better fps

Sure. If you go wild at gaming (play heavy games at high settings) then charge will be slower or even stop until you stop gaming.

@@Steven-cr1og probably choose one with a 4060 instead of a 4050 if you can pay for it, 4050s will overheat more because they're less powerful and ryzen processors use less power while performing the same
