- Did someone say “more Mystery Menu”? Yup, we did. It’s here, and it’s a good one. In this installment, Sohla and Ham are challenged to make dinner and dessert in under an hour using Tajín. Can they do it? (Duh.) Will it be amazing? (Double duh.) Watch to find out.

About NYT Cooking:
All the food that’s fit to eat (yes, it’s an official New York Times production).
New York Times, you hit the JACKPOT with these two. KEEP THEM HAPPY AND KEEP MAKING MORE! My week is made when I see a new Mystery Menu
It’s so so so fun to watch two people who are so brilliant and in tune with each other. Whatever you’re paying them isn’t enough! Love these guys!
Chefs: "I don't want this to be fancy. I want family style California fish tacos."
Would 100% go to a Mystery Menu popup. That uni guac looks INCREDIBLE 😍
I love these episodes where Sohla and Ham are excited about the unique ingredients. I‘m really glad you changed it up from frozen pre-made stuff
I loved the mini timelapse at the end with the whole team eating together! It just felt like this episode was a big 'we care about you and we are going to make yall some GREAT food' from Sohla and Ham to their team
Gosh these two are so knowledgable. I’m really glad Sohla told up for herself against Bon Appétit because she really deserves to be paid big bucks for her knowledge
It's so weird how much I learn about cooking watching these two. I'm even picking up stuff they don't talk about directly, like using a food storage bag on the tortilla press (because plastic wrap is too wimpy). I can't believe how much more I'm learning about cooking in a video that sits between a recipe video and a game show.
Don't get me wrong I love when they give Sohlam (Sohla + Ham) curveball ingredients like Jell-O or hot dogs 😂 but I kinda want them to keep leaning in this direction they're going, like where the ingredient is more uncommon rather than just being weird or wacky. I love that I get to learn about new food types that I've never heard of like durian, tajin etc. and it gives them free range to do more variety of meals and flex their skills a bit
This series is so fun to watch. It's incredible to me the way that Sohla and Ham can just pull menus out of thin air like this.
Please never stop with this show, but also; show the staff feasting on all that delicious food!!
"I don't want this to be fancy."
I can't stress how much I love Sohla and Ham. I am Sohla's biggest fan. If she has one fan its me, if she has no fans I'm dead. She seems so cool and chill and positive and nice and passionate and just such an interesting fun watch but also relaxing vibes. Sohla is like NPR. I love it. I hope she continues making videos forever and feels the appreciation from her fans without feeling overwhelmed. I appreciate all her hard work she's done up until this point so I can watch and enjoy her videos. This made my Friday :)
The amount of money I would pay to be invited to a taco night at Ham and Sohlas 😅
If Sohla and Ham ever did a pop-up restaurant anywhere, I'd be there in a minute. I'm sure so many NYT viewers would love to go to a S&H taco party.
A MYSTERY MENU POPUP??? that would be incredible!! All their tasting menus have been building up for this moment ahaha. The end montage of Sohla and Ham making the tacos for everyone is so sweet.
can these be weekly??? i remember when it was just sohla with cameos from her husband, but I love that they are working together for this show. they are super talented and creative.
My opinion - these two are Wayyyy better than so many of the food network chefs and shows. Ham and Sohla - you are delightful!
These are the best days. I love these two so much! MORE PLEASE FOREVER!
The blue cap is the reduced sodium version, which I use. The mix of chili peppers, sea salt, citric acid, dehydrated lime juice, gives this a spicy tartness perfect for flavoring pickling liquid. Brings a brightness to fatty dishes, like fried food. Glad you posted this video!
