One hopes. When Asoka was being used by BA she, like all non white men got salary screwed. If NYT pulls the same crap I'm done with them, too. So you are correct. PAY YOUR D'ED CONTENT CREATORS!
I loved the mini timelapse at the end with the whole team eating together! It just felt like this episode was a big 'we care about you and we are going to make yall some GREAT food' from Sohla and Ham to their team
highly recommend watching their gingerbread house episodes. it goes from intense contest to how much caviar can we give our camera crew over the course of 3 years
It's not wierd to use roe in family food. I use whitefish roe for just a easy monday dinner in baked potatoes with sour cream and red onions. Or to a potatoepancake. It's diffrent food coulture and what you find easy to find for family style meal is not allways same in other countries. I need to make it difficoult if me want to buy spam for example
I was glad they managed to use the roe after it arrived too late to use in a previous video - it's always fun to see them make sure nothing goes to waste!
Gosh these two are so knowledgable. I’m really glad Sohla told up for herself against Bon Appétit because she really deserves to be paid big bucks for her knowledge
Too bad she ws a total c**t to everyone she worked with though including Gaby, the immigrant who worked there. She's a terribly hypocritical person considering her claim to fame is calling out oppression.

It's so weird how much I learn about cooking watching these two. I can't believe how much more I'm learning about cooking in a video that sits between a recipe video and a game show.
I think part of that is that Sohla and Ham are kind of like natural educators. They can weave techniques and tips and methods through something that is mainly entertaining, without taking away from either the tip or entertainment. Learn so much from both of them every time!
I don't like the taste of raw onions so knowing that you can simply wash it a little in cold water is great. They have so much culinary knowledge, it's incredible.
I can't stress how much I love Sohla and Ham. I am Sohla's biggest fan. If she has one fan its me, if she has no fans I'm dead. A MYSTERY MENU POPUP??? that would be incredible!! All their tasting menus have been building up for this moment ahaha. The end montage of Sohla and Ham making the tacos for everyone is so sweet.
Don't get me wrong I love when they give Sohlam (Sohla + Ham) curveball ingredients like Jell-O or hot dogs 😂 but I kinda want them to keep leaning in this direction they're going, like where the ingredient is more uncommon rather than just being weird or wacky. I love that I get to learn about new food types that I've never heard of like durian, tajin etc. and it gives them free range to do more variety of meals and flex their skills a bit
@@Ryan_gogaku underappreciated that's exactly the word I was looking for, thats why I love Sohlam because their meal ideas are so original and creative it lends itself perfectly to this concept
I kind of enjoy there being a balance. Like sometimes underappreciated and uncommon, but sometimes left field that leaves them scratching their heads. I think both situations have their merits and puts forth different ways for them to shine
can these be weekly??? i remember when it was just sohla with cameos from her husband, but I love that they are working together for this show. they are super talented and creative.
The blue cap is the reduced sodium version, which I use. The mix of chili peppers, sea salt, citric acid, dehydrated lime juice, gives this a spicy tartness perfect for flavoring pickling liquid. Brings a brightness to fatty dishes, like fried food. Glad you posted this video!
We finally got Tajin in Australian supermarkets, but it's the regular green capped one, and it's SO SALTY. I don't know how anyone can enjoy that version. I can only hope I can find the reduced sodium version soon!
@@mysticseraph2213its meant to be, like a crisps seasoning. Its traditionally used on fried foods as the only seasoning or fruit (like unripe mango or watermelon)… thats where it really shines cause you get the salty/sweet/sour/spicy
@@mysticseraph2213 The regular sodium powdered version is best lightly sprinkled on fresh fruit or veggies (Mangoes and watermelon are my personal favorites). It is very salty but it’s assumed that will be the only sodium added to food and used very sparingly. I do prefer the reduced sodium one much like most people and would recommend buying some online if the original is way too salty for you. Fair warning though, reduced sodium doesn’t denote low sodium. I also recommend trying the liquid tajín sauce which is chamoy based (chamoy is a sweet, sour and a bit spicy condiment made from pickled plums). It’s not as incredibly salty as the regular seasoning and not as spicy as it may appear from its dark maroon color. It’s used very similarly to the dry seasoning. It’s exciting to hear these products are now being sold in Australia as I grew up with it in my Mexican-American family. Hope you enjoy it!
Hands down the best episode yet. I like the editing direction and the upgrades to drawing board time. I also feel like the mis en place was better this time and the shift in tone from “competition cooking” to “how to entertain like a chef” is a welcome one.
