There's an enormous amount of stuff about this show that's worth lauding, but I think something that's under-talked about in the comments here is how great Jordan is at going toe to toe with both the panel of comedians and the chefs doing the challenges. She's cracking jokes as good as any in the command center, and doing an excellent job of interviewing the chefs mid-challenge. Okay, cooking shows aren't fully my bag, but the bits like the cameraperson's obvious bias towards Trevor has me absolutely sold. And they did the game changer bingo bit at the end, you are kidding!
Brennan's comment about his association with food where he eats like it may be a while before there's more food hits hard especially knowing how much he struggled for years in his 20s. That is a trauma response to knowing food insecurity. I'm sorry he still struggles with that.
Great show, my absolute favourite thing about dropout is every single one of their shows has a distinct dropout vibe to it that obviously comes from them having the artistic freedom of making it for their own streaming service. I know I sound like an ad right now but I have never seen a dropout show where the cast at least from my pov is not having fun and it makes this shitty world a little bit better!

OBSESSED with Brennan cheering on the weird little powder. I have a bottle of edible glitter in my pantry and I, too, will be using it every time I beef a landing.
I like to Imagine that Brennan just found a way to get professional chefs to make him lunches and dinners. He just puts the lids back on and takes them home.

I propose a challenge. Nutless baklava. I've yet to have a decent one, and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth risking a trip to the hospital to finally have baklava again.
Have you ever tried a tulumba or kadaif? Those desserts are also made from dough and sherbet (the traditional Turkish kind), which is what baklava is without the nuts. Alternatively, maybe you could try making your own with something like sunflower seeds, since it's pretty easy to make, just a bit time consuming with all the layering. Sorry, I'm not sure which country you're from, so my comment might be very obvious if you're from my part of the world. Still, if you're from the West and you've never heard of those desserts before I recommend you try them!

@@michaelclarkj If the cast stayed the same. I watched like 3 videos of him saying his feelings about food, calamity where he slams the coke, the "looks like we're off keto", the dm roundtable. I just want this man to eat how he wants to eat, and eat good from pro chefs, and not hear "healthy" people's "advice " what to do with his diet. Same for Izzy.
That's an impressive combination, and I'm so happy to see Dropout is working with her on this show, because she's an absolutely perfect fit!
What an awesome show! No fake drama, just a great time watching people do what they love.
Totally recommended to have a subscription guys. I don't even watch the D&D stuff.
Same here! It’s not that I don’t like D&D, it’s just 🎶not my thing🎶, in the words of Wayne Brady.
Yess I love make some noise, game changer, play it by ear,, there's so many other shows to watch!
lol u know Brennan just LOVED reading this comment 😄
@@chrisvibes1017 which is funny, as Brennan is one of my favorite cast members
@@chrisvibes1017 He probably IS happy, since that means the non-D&D content has a strong fanbase, which helps keep Dropout alive, which helps keep the D&D shows alive, so Brennan keeps getting to do what he loves to do. Win-win-win. 😄
We desperately need a cookbook or the recipes for this show OMG
thank you for making this show 🙏🙏🙏, it is every thing I wanted in a cooking competition: normal people as the judges
and talented chefs as competitors
Trevor is really avant garde and like fancy shamncy and he WAS NO READY for the crazy shit that Oscar would throw at him hahahha
Okay, cooking shows aren't fully my bag, but the bits like the cameraperson's obvious bias towards Trevor has me absolutely sold.
And they did the game changer bingo bit at the end, you are kidding!
Getting missed on the first "where is the bathroom" then Izzy flipping him off was so funny dude, genuinely most FUN video I've seen this year
Nah Jessica Tiffany absolutely mopped the floor with them. That Basil man???? Incredible
Brennan is 100% correct and I am with him on this one. The sense of security and satisfaction a gargantuan aahh meal gives you is priceless.
Jordan is a great host tbh
Agreed! She's perfect for this
She’s got an amazing voice for this, I just think the other three have to be slightly louder to be fully honest
I've always wondered what a cooking show judged by normal people would be like. This is better than I imagined, it's absolutely hilarious!!
1. This is absolutely adorable with all the snuggling and compliments and enjoyment instead of critique.
2. TH-cam served me up an ad for butter in the middle of the middle challenge. Well played.
3. The food looks too delicious, the only thing that looks tastier are those snacks of chefs :O
Have I already watched this episode and the second on Dropout? Yes. Will I watch it again on YT because it is just that good? Also yes.
Watched it on Dropout and here again because I'll gobble up the insane cast chemistry over and over again
OBSESSED with Brennan cheering on the weird little powder. I have a bottle of edible glitter in my pantry and I, too, will be using it every time I beef a landing.
Genuinely one of the most fun and creative videos I've seen in years. I need 300+ episodes to binge now pls and thx
Chef Jessica's dish was so good Brennan didn't even care about losing
Oh boy, you're all in for a treat. Great episode for Dropout to list for free! Now to re-watch this for the 5th time...
I like to Imagine that Brennan just found a way to get professional chefs to make him lunches and dinners. He just puts the lids back on and takes them home.
All the compliments are honestly so sweet, even if they made the chefs do it lol.
man, Mythical and Smosh are just letting their talent shine everywhere.
I thought that was actually a piece of moon until the piece of sun was shown
same lmao
The zoom in on the floored gnochi killed me for some reason - top notch camera work there
Knowing even just a fraction of Brennan's food lore ahead of time make this great. Learning more makes it better.
I am 90% convinced that Oscar is feigning ignorance to wind everyone up and 10% fearful he actually couldn't cook to save his life
EDIT: two things can be true at once
A little ala him not knowing much about Lord of the Rings but then playing it up for comedy/annoying Brennan
Imagine if they thought they were filming a gastronauts but instead they hear boss music playing as sam descends from the roof saying “I’ve been here the whole time”
Jordan is absolutely incredible as a host in this! Had me cackling throughout
I propose a challenge. Nutless baklava. I've yet to have a decent one, and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth risking a trip to the hospital to finally have baklava again.
Maybe sesame or coconut if those don't trigger your allergies?
Have you ever tried a tulumba or kadaif? Those desserts are also made from dough and sherbet (the traditional Turkish kind), which is what baklava is without the nuts. Alternatively, maybe you could try making your own with something like sunflower seeds, since it's pretty easy to make, just a bit time consuming with all the layering.
Sorry, I'm not sure which country you're from, so my comment might be very obvious if you're from my part of the world. Still, if you're from the West and you've never heard of those desserts before I recommend you try them!
Literally the best cooking show ever! All the fun of the weird challenges without the weird background guilt of “eliminations” or the stupid points off. Just good wholesome fun!!!Dropout doesn’t miss
All this needs is one extra 4th chef that just is a regular person doing their best
I had no idea this show existed but Jordan + Dropout is the crossover I never knew I needed. I love this!
I love seeing the hosts eat bc they’re so like not professional judges and their reactions are so normal and relatable
They've got all the things that we love from competition food shows and yet give it that Dropout twist. Great people, great comedy and production!
Gastronauts first ep was straight 🔥. Can’t wait for more. Another Dropout hit.
It's kinda a bummer she named him basil man when Stretch Parmstrong was right there.
i'm sure everyone will find great use for this timestamp: 26:56
That Biscuit!
i’m right there with you Oscar! i love good food but idk nothing about cooking or baking. i only watched cuz i thought it’d be an entertaining cast. so i appreciate your questions asked and the host/judges answering honestly. other comments acting like we gotta know every cooking term in the dictionary lol
I'm so glad that smosh, dropout, and mythical are friends. They are all incredible, but Brennan, Vic, Spencer Agnew, and Jordan Morris are some of the funniest people alive. (I know everyone has their favourites, but that's my dream team.)
I want a trinity episode. Mythical chefs cooking, Smosh judges. On Dropout? The mythical trinity of smoshout
The Hamber Helper was the right call for weight.
its the only food they made that filled the container
This was so perfect for Brennan, but also didn’t expect how perfect choices Izzy and Oscar were for a cooking show. Love this so much lol also are we gonna talk about the not-so-subtle slutty angle thrown in there?? This was so much more fun than I expected, all cooking shows should have comedians as judges
Love how Trevor sexily wiped every part of his forehead _except_ the actually buttered bit.
