Mariah’s racial identity, being almost drugged and sold to a pimp by her sister, her jealous mother, whom both really passed. Whitney’s toxic family, dad suing her before he died, husband, and sad illness with substance, and alienation from racial criticism, and Celine’s recent struggle with seizures and her illness. I think the comparison needs to stop. While all these videos are made with good intention, at the end of the day, we’re talking about 3 singers with incredible voices and they’re all incredibly skilled. The differences are in their styles, none of them sings like the others, they all sound very different from one another. the way i completely agreed with each ranking 😭 im glad u created a high mix category tho out of fairness for celine. cause she mainly uses twang in her upper belting register speaking of that, the trinity really are one of the best singers yet they’re not the standard when it comes to upper-belting mixing. their predecessors and contemporary singers have a better understanding & utilize mix better !
Yeah and the way they added a category for whistle specifically for Mariah knowing fully well both Celine & Whitney dont have/ or very limited access to this range.
@@nunyabiz3668Absolutely not…Whitney’s tone is much more velvety and smooth than Mariah’s. Also when singing live in their prime Whitney was not only able to reach notes, she sustained them. Mariah would touch a note then flee for her life. Early on in her career, people all said Whitney had a 5 octave range and even today some certified vocal coaches say she did. To understand Whitney you have to listen to her from 1985-1987 live especially singing songs like He, I Believe and I Am Changing. There’s a reason why with far fewer albums Whitney has more awards including being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame after only 5 years of her debut. Whitney was the only one to consistently sing live throughout her career…only using lip sync when it was not her choice. But then she refused to do so saying if they didn’t let her sing live she will not show up to any television appearances. Whitney is the only one who had full control of her voice…from the lower register to her head voice. Being able to use your vibrato throughout your range is incredible. Thats why both of the other ladies cite Whitney as a major influence on them becoming a singer.
@ jobuck879 I myself am a huge Whitney fan (even though you’ve tried to tell me I’m not a Whitney fan due to objective remarks about her vocal condition in the 90s), so you’re definitely *not* telling me anything new. Your sustainability past E5 remark is something I have been just as, if not more vocal about than you. I cannot stand it when people say Whitney could not belt properly past Eb5; It is a huge ignorance to her live catalogue/performances. Tone is incredibly subjective. Many people prefer Mariah’s tone in that region, and that’s ok. Mariah incorporated upper-belts (in my humble opinion) more consistently *in the studio* and creatively into her work than Whitney did *in the studio* Now technically, yes, Whitney was far more versatile with the upper register, had more chest participation, could phrase, sustain, apply vibrato, and was more consistent on a grueling tour schedule, which is basically just regurgitating what I already said: Whitney had the better technique live there. Whitney live is another topic since she was consistently out performing her own studio work, but let’s not discredit others who are subjectively more impressed by one area of voice from Mariah. Whitney and Mariah are both incredible, and there’s nothing wrong with other’s having a preference.
@@nunyabiz3668 I don’t mind others having a preference, it’s when they state that preference as a fact that I don’t accept. When people put their personal preferences or opinions and try to make it a fact is when I have to show how there’s a difference. Just like I did with you on another video. Preferences are ok, just don’t push it to the fact level.
Can you do Vocal trinity's strength? Personally for me: Mariah: Musicality, melisma and agility, range and tone Celine: Consistency, support, power and well mixed upper belt, a great technical singer Whitney: power, the best phrased belter, well supported belt, can sing opera Definitely can add more because they really truly are that amazing
All the top song charts will be the 3's song repeated 😂 No-one today can compete with their vocal range and power (except maybe Adele but she's only know to sing one type of music, ballads. So we can't really know her full range and vocal abilities) and their music composition and production will be original, godly - nothing that today's singers/ musicians can make by themselves (most of them rely heavily on outside help that their album has way too long of a list of names involved).
@@DDSizeBraAdele isn’t nowhere near the great singers with her bad technique though. The fact that she even got surgery for her ruined voice speaks for itself. I think the closest singer or maybe even comparable is Beyoncé in this generation. She has an excellent technique and control along with her vocal acrobatics.
I agree with the upper belt ranking. I'm not hearing how Whitney's upper belt is supposedly "better" than Mariah's. Mariah's upper belt has always sounded more impressive and superior to Whitney's. The overtones and the tonal brightness that Mariah achieves as she blooms in the upper belt is something I haven't heard from any other singer. Whitney's upper belt has never really impressed me all that much; neither has Celine's for that matter. Their mid-belts, on the other hand, are an absolute marvel.
I think it depends on the performance for both of them; they both have nights where they're on fire and off nights as well in the upper register. I would say Whitney had the better technique for sure, but Mariah had a more optimal tonality for her catalogue that many prefer, which I can see.
@@nunyabiz3668 Better technique how when Whitney sounds significantly less freer, much thinner and more pushed up there than Mariah? Like, how is Mariah's technique up there supposedly inferior when she flat out sounds like her voice blossoms up there as opposed to Whitney? What is this supposed superior technique that makes Whitney sound pushed up there, while Mariah floats up there?
@ Antonio-vw8pp I get what you’re saying, but there are a few reasons: 1. Because tonality doesn’t equate to technical prowess. Mariah has a more forwardly resonating placement and lightens her chest more up there, which for pop music, people prefer. 2. Push doesn’t equate to strain. Belting in its definition is a pushed sound. It isn’t meant to be a light buoyant coordination in every situation. 3. Mariah had glottal attack, and thus, restriction past E5. Yes, glottal attack allows for a piercing sound, but it doesn’t allow the voice to stabilize and maintain up there. Not denying that she sounds immaculate up there, but that isn’t technique. 4. Whitney was more consistent on these notes, with more chest engagement, and a better execution of release. She could phrase, sustain, add vibrato (which indicates there isn’t a constriction in the throat), and/or add distortion up there, and she was more consistent while putting on shows with these notes. Mariah had the better *tone* which was more optimal and creatively placed into her musicality Whitney had the better *technique* which allowed for versatility and consistency up there
@@Antonio-vw8ppI mean… Mariah’s inconsistency in her upper belts and the longevity of her ability to do that speaks for itself. Whitney had a better technique, almost like a male opera singer with superb chest coordination.
@Antonio-vw8pp Well, the truth is Whitney was technically better in her upper belts. Mariah's tone could sound more flattering to you since her voice type tonally shines more in that area. But that doesn't change that Whitney was better from an objective point of view. Whitney had much more chest participation, could sustain, could phrase and apply vibrato to her upper belts, none of which Mariah demonstrated in her abilities. You can like her tone more up there since again, her voice type shines more there tonally, but Whitney is technically superior in the upper belts
My opinion: I’ll do two measurements: technique and tone in each register Technique: Lows:Celine>Mariah>Whitney Midbelts:Whitney>=Celine>Mariah Upperbelts:Whitney>Mariah>Celine Headvoice:Whitney>Celine>Mariah Whistle:Mariah and that’s it> Whitney chirps every now and then I guess Tone: Lows:Mariah>Celine>Whitney Midbelts:Whitney>Celine>Mariah Upperbelts:Mariah>Whitney>Celine Headvoice:Whitney>Celine>Mariah Whistle:Mariah only

Better technique. Mariah’s notes were airy and muffled due to a lowered larynx and lack of cord closure. Celine’s had better connection, projection, and was less tense.
@@GievyjiTo be fair, I don’t think either one of them are better at lows, they have different approaches to low notes. Whitney has the best scale out of the three, from top to bottom. Mariah and Celine go lower with their voices with more ease because they’re not projecting in full voice. In the undubbed audio of ‘You And I’, Mariah’s low notes were very breathy and almost inaudible, and not very in tune. Whitney almost always sang in full voice from top to bottom. Whitney also has the most balanced belting scale - an even resonance from top to bottom. Celine has more ease from G5 and up, but only because she thins her voice out more. Whitney went up there with a more balanced sound. Head voice goes to Whitney, although Celine is close. And both Celine and Whitney do not have a whistle register.

@@TalvanePorfirio not really, Mariah and Celine are tied up E5/F5, but Mariah definitely have better F♯5's; Celine is really far from Whitney in upper belts: whitney is consistent at F5/F♯5 in her prime, she was capable of sustain resonant F5's and F#5's with vibrato(F5 is really a golden note for whitney); Celine is consistent at E♭5/E5 in her prime(E5/F5 in 1989-1992), have good F5's, but she rarely sustain these notes and her F5's sound really less full and resonant than whitney (i think i don't need explain about why celine F♯5's are really worse than whitney F♯5's)
So many people in the comments upset about Whitney not being first in the upper belt lol. Mariah has always sounded the best and the brightest tonally up there out of the three. Whitney dragged too much chest up there and Celine got really shrill and heady up there. Mariah had the optimum mix. She sounds like a clear bell up there.
Celine. Celine. Celine. Celine all the way for consistency. The other 2, I love them, but consistency in their range varies far too much, from a year to another, from a sing to another. Power would go to Whitney. But everything else including voice flexibility, Celine is at the top by far.
@igroom1990 that doesn't mean anything. You can hear the "breathiness" is because she's losing support, she also lowers her larynx drastically and over darkens her vowels which can sound interesting but isn't the best thing to do technically. Mariah can go lower, but Celine's lows are stronger.
Honestly for upper belts I’d say Whitney > Mariah. Whitney has much better examples that could have been used, whereas IIO Grammys was probably Mariah’s best use of upper belts. Mariah was never that consistent though, and rarely if ever sustained above E5. Whitney could sustain up to G5 with vibrato and had some beautifully resonant F5’s with vibrato in All At Once.
I know it's gonna anger so many but I don't understand the vocal trinity ranking. Like I don't really think Celine Dion is the best in the entire world to be put in the trinity. Personally I would do Whitney Mariah and Aretha Franklin since she is a legend, has a more spiritual and stronger connection to music and obviously has a better (not necessarly technique even though she does have better tech than Celine) vocalization and legendary musical career. Like I can't count how impactful and how many amazing singers there are thanks to Aretha. Rest in peace my queen, you're the best. ♥️
i would replace Celine with Lara Fabian. i think they were put together because of the almost same era they're rising in, and the same genres, you know.
Celine Dion out of these 3 is only 2nd to Whitney and it is not by much at all. Celine’s overall consistency eclipses Whitney, Celine’s agility eclipses Whitney’s, and her belts are only just shy of Whitney’s with Whitney being able to handle sustaining upper belts better than Celine can. If anything, Mariah should be excluded from this list seeing as the only thing she genuinely has over the other ladies is whistle.
@@PlayMouseTVAbsolutely I'm from Tanzanié 🇹🇿 a Swahili world in the East But Lara Fabian is far much better vocally than Celine Dion, Celine Dion is talented but her commercial promotion exceeds her talent Lara Fabian got pure soul in her delivery as much as Whitney The VOICE Houston

Belts I'd say is a tie between Whitney and Celine, Whitney has a slight edge in upper belting. Mariah has no technique and squeezes. Her whole belting range is built on pushing and squeezing. Just because she sounds good doesn't mean it is healthy. She never actually trained her voice and established a good foundation. If It's Over is just one performance. She cannot sing that song as good on any given day, and those belts were strained in every other performance.
Ngl if ever its never a tie between Celine and Whitney. Celine’s upper belts may have the most ease and range in upepr belt tho but ngl (specifically after 1998) celine doesn’t really have good of a upper belts like Mariah’s. If Its Over maybe her best example of upper belts but she has lots more where she did better than Celine’s. The clear winner for belts is definitely whitney both mid and upper.
Be real none of them could sing any of their songs on any given days. They all had points where they squeeze, lowered the key, dodged high notes, or lipped (except Whitney, to my knowledge she never really lipped). But they each also had MANY good days where they sounded amazing. Mariah has plenty of performances singing great high belts that aren’t squeezed, and where she does it effortlessly. So do Whitney and Celine.
Definitely Mariah should have taken the low notes... And why the need to shade Ariana? Whitney is the most overrated with that plain loud voice. Celine has the most resonant belts with a beautiful tone. Mariah has the most beautiful tone with a wide range.
Powerful/big belts doesn’t necessarily equals to “loud”. She also does it with good amount of ease, power and vibrato. Not to mention those stunning vocal agility
That’s just personal preference. There’s no need for you to bring down one to raise the others, you know Whitney can sing good otherwise she wouldn’t be called the voice, just because she’s not your fave doesn’t mean she’s bad.

My favorite is Céline, but the three are unbeatable when it comes to VOCAL!

im glad u created a high mix category tho out of fairness for celine. cause she mainly uses twang in her upper belting register
speaking of that, the trinity really are one of the best singers yet they’re not the standard when it comes to upper-belting mixing. their predecessors and contemporary singers have a better understanding & utilize mix better !
yeah, a lot of people tend to put her upper belt and her mix in the same category, which is impossible, she used totally different techniques.
Yeah and the way they added a category for whistle specifically for Mariah knowing fully well both Celine & Whitney dont have/ or very limited access to this range.
Agreed. Only disagreement is that Whitney was last for the “mixed” belts not second. I don’t think she was better than Mariah or Celine at it.
Mariah is everything
Обожаю!!!!! Мои 3 любимые, обожаемые певицы!!!
Mariah has the brightest sounding and most impressive sounding upper belts, regardless of whether Whitney is technically better up there.
I agree with this. I think upperbelts go
Technique: Whitney>Mariah>Celine
Tone:Mariah>Whitney>Celine
@@nunyabiz3668 I agree.
@ jobuck879
I myself am a huge Whitney fan (even though you’ve tried to tell me I’m not a Whitney fan due to objective remarks about her vocal condition in the 90s), so you’re definitely *not* telling me anything new. Mariah incorporated upper-belts (in my humble opinion) more consistently *in the studio* and creatively into her work than Whitney did *in the studio*
Now technically, yes, Whitney was far more versatile with the upper register, had more chest participation, could phrase, sustain, apply vibrato, and was more consistent on a grueling tour schedule, which is basically just regurgitating what I already said: Whitney had the better technique live there.
Mariah can go a lot lower than Celine but Celine does not push down her voice box too low like Mariah does
Can you do Vocal trinity's strength? Personally for me:
Mariah: Musicality, melisma and agility, range and tone

All the top song charts will be the 3's song repeated 😂 No-one today can compete with their vocal range and power (except maybe Adele but she's only know to sing one type of music, ballads. So we can't really know her full range and vocal abilities) and their music composition and production will be original, godly - nothing that today's singers/ musicians can make by themselves (most of them rely heavily on outside help that their album has way too long of a list of names involved).
@@DDSizeBraAdele isn’t nowhere near the great singers with her bad technique though. The fact that she even got surgery for her ruined voice speaks for itself. Please watch “The Resonance of Celine Dion Part 2-4” under (John De Leon). Maybe you can see some performances of Celine that you didn’t know exists
@ Antonio-vw8pp
I get what you’re saying, but there are a few reasons:
Mariah had the better *tone* which was more optimal and creatively placed into her musicality
Whitney had the better *technique*
which allowed for versatility and consistency up there
@@Antonio-vw8ppI mean… Mariah’s inconsistency in her upper belts and the longevity of her ability to do that speaks for itself.
Mariah is still good at eveything, even Adele would agree...

lower/higher ≠ better, it's like saying fergie>barbra streisand because she can hit higher belts.
Better technique. Mariah’s notes were airy and muffled due to a lowered larynx and lack of cord closure. Celine’s had better connection, projection, and was less tense.
@@GievyjiTo be fair, I don’t think either one of them are better at lows, they have different approaches to low notes. Mariah’s were more airy, but that’s a stylistic choice, that’s her sound, she’s smooth and velvety with that airy tone. Yes it’s less cord closure but it’s a choice. That’s her approach to singing.
As for Celine, she chooses a different approach with less airiness. Both could do what the other is doing, but they’re doing it their own way.
Comparing these three is so annoying, everybody just picks their favorite and then bashes the other ones throwing out whatever they can.

And Whitney and Celine does not do whistle register
Whitney has the best scale out of the three, from top to bottom. Mariah and Celine go lower with their voices with more ease because they’re not projecting in full voice. In the undubbed audio of ‘You And I’, Mariah’s low notes were very breathy and almost inaudible, and not very in tune. Whitney almost always sang in full voice from top to bottom. Whitney also has the most balanced belting scale - an even resonance from top to bottom. Celine has more ease from G5 and up, but only because she thins her voice out more. Like I can't count how impactful and how many amazing singers there are thanks to Aretha. Rest in peace my queen, you're the best. ♥️

i think they were put together because of the almost same era they're rising in, and the same genres, you know.
Aretha was years ahead of this group of singers so she rightfully so wouldn’t be in the trinity. Aretha was considered a teacher to many .

If Its Over maybe her best example of upper belts but she has lots more where she did better than Celine’s. The clear winner for belts is definitely whitney both mid and upper.
She has a lot of performances especially in daydream, where she has the most ease hitting her upper belts and also support
Biased.
Celine 👑
Using Mariah lipping.
Lmao cuz she has no live that high
Definitely Mariah should have taken the low notes...
And why the need to shade Ariana? Ari has done more Bb5's than u guys could count, while Celine has done only a few times
U don't need to put someone down just to make your fave look better, even Celine admires Ariana.
Anyway, they are all awesome
Celine = Whitney >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mooriah
Don’t be disrespectful. Mariah is incredible too!
@@nunyabiz3668She's incredible up to 1997. post 1998 she sounds like a screeching cat and tarnished her legacy with hip hop songs.
She doesn't compare to the other two 😂

Not even remotely true. Mariah had many stellar moments past 1997, although pre 97’ was her peak. Her health, voice, and lifestyle became more turbulent. Let’s not hate on her.
📌 whitney the power, mariah the technique, celine the resonance
Whitney is the most overrated with that plain loud voice.
Celine has the most resonant belts with a beautiful tone.
Mariah has the most beautiful tone with a wide range.
Powerful/big belts doesn’t necessarily equals to “loud”. Although having a loud volume in belts isn’t necessarily bad if its done correctly like whitney (hence not all of her belts are even loud anyways but rather full, ringing and weighted) 2:54 this part doesn’t show her loud belting style but its weighted and full.

Seems like u don't know the difference between loud and poweful
