I don't think whatsapp will stop working, they said that about Facebook and I never updated mine so it's still working great. I mainly use my BlackBerry PRIV or Dtek50 but I own every BlackBerry made and play around with them at times to keep them in the loop lol. great video man.

Because some of them still work as good as they did before, BlackBerry phones are built to last longer, the Bold 9900 works just as good as the Q10, and also BB10 devices are still not widely available and weren't widely accessible when they came out. I used my Q10 for three full years and just decided to go back to the 9900 because i missed the trackpad so much and was so annoyed with not being able to answer or reject a call by using a button and i didn't want to have to buy the Classic because they are only available o me unlocked online so i'd have to pay so much money for one.
Consider buying a used one. Recently I bought a used Blackberry Classic in "Like New" condition for about $200 USD on eBay. It came with the original box, headphones, instructions, etc. Overall, I'm very pleased with it! The price was right too.

Hi, Jan! I have a problem, when I downloaded and installed WhatsApp on my Classic, it wouldn't work, because it needed Google Play Services (which I installed following Cobalt's instructions). I then deleted the app, and tried installing the patched version, which I patched using Cobalt's apk patch software, but when trying to install it, it wouldn't let me. So I went into the Playstore again, but there it says I have the app installed, and it runs when I tap OPEN, asking me to register again, and having the same problem as before. I can't uninstall it, the Playstore crashes, probably because I deleted it, but then I don't understand how it runs. Any advice you might have is appreciated! Thanks!
I've just downloaded a whatsapp APK and all the functions seem to be working as normal... I can send voice notes etc... I've tried to follow the instructions for the Whatsapp Fixer but unfortunately can't get the Chrome extension to work... Do I need to do anything else or is my device set for whatsapp now??

I suddenly decided I wanted to get myself a phone that stood out from the rest, something quite unique and came across the Blackberry Passport which I immediately fell in love with. But I need Gmail and I really need WhatsApp and I don't want to have to jump through a lot of hoops to install them and keep them running. Is there no chance of Blackberry updating the Passport?

one of the thing I hate about side load, the we chat are getting lag if using for a longer period, that's why I think someone just updated the app and no need to sideload is the perfect contribution for the bb os10, it's not about the OS itself, but just the app are just not so compatible to use like the Android app

I personally don't like using cases on my phones. Especially for the Priv since the phone already is bulky. I only have two cases for the Classic that I could review if you like me to do that :)

If I may add, I've bee able to install the BB10/PlayBook App Manager Options but I don't have the same thing than you Jan. When I go to Chrome and do Settings/Extensions, I see the BB10/PlayBook App Manager but I do not have the Permissions thing on which you click. when you see the google play message, justr click anywhere on the screen. Do not click on cancel or anything. Click anywhere on the screen and itll go away :)

After you enter your number, you'll get a google play services notification. If you see this, don't click on cancel or anything, just click anywhere on the screen to make it go away, then it shouldn't get stuck in the backup search mode

Thank you!!! Got my Q10 to send photos, documents which is enough for me to switch to Passport. But still no videos, audios or GIFs. It was and still can send location, live voice messages, and contacts. When trying to record an audio whatsapp crashes and closes down. For videos it just says, uploading failed.

Android WhatsApp will work on every BB10 device. The question is how good will it work. As shown in this video it should work very well.
I have it tested on a Q10, works nice, except the one thing Jan Ole already mentioned with the camera direct access.

you can actually still use the Blackberry Version of android. Just install the update from BB world and it will work again!
What exactly should I download from BB World to do the update?
Because then you can continue to use the native Whatsapp version till june

one of the thing I hate about side load, the we chat are getting lag if using for a longer period, that's why I think someone just updated the app and no need to sideload is the perfect contribution for the bb os10, it's not about the OS itself, but just the app are just not so compatible to use like the Android app

hello jan i have updated everything as your giuded to use whatsapp in 2017 by google playstore. it works but there is small issue that most of the android app that I installed using playstore stucks and not even show the first page. it shows only a blank page and says system not responding you want to wait or press ok to cancel. how to get out of the issue

Just wanna ask now to fix back cos I hv deleted or rather call it I performed a security wipe after installing Google play store in BlackBerry Classic finding some apps won't work on that. It took about almost a week to complete the wipe. After that when I turn on it shows an error message and it hangs. Pls help tq

Yes! id like to see some Priv cases since they're so few. That way i can avoid wasting money...
I personally don't like using cases on my phones. Especially for the Priv since the phone already is bulky. I only have two cases for the Classic that I could review if you like me to do that :)

Hey Jan. I'm unable to get watsapp to work I've tried using it from the playstore that you've mentioned but it tells me that I need Google play services
Whatsapp is still not sharing the media after installing waa fixer, it supports hardly 2-3 days and then we face same problm (media files can't be shared) plzz do smthing about it
I am still using Bold 9900, and want to wait till the next BB Rome (or any other BB with android and physical non-sliding keyboard is launched)... Please tell how to continue using Whatsapp on BB OS 7.1...
If I may add, I've bee able to install the BB10/PlayBook App Manager Options but I don't have the same thing than you Jan.
When I go to Chrome and do Settings/Extensions, I see the BB10/PlayBook App Manager but I do not have the Permissions thing on which you click.
I nevertheless end up on the page where I enter the IPv4. But I get the blank page afterwards...

after verifying my no. a message appeared on my screen saying that 'whatsapp uses google play services which are not available ask your manufacture'
so i request u to tell me a solution so i can use whatsapp after december 2016
when you see the google play message, justr click anywhere on the screen. Do not click on cancel or anything. Click anywhere on the screen and itll go away :)

After you enter your number, you'll get a google play services notification. If you see this, don't click on cancel or anything, just click anywhere on the screen to make it go away, then it shouldn't get stuck in the backup search mode

Got my Q10 to send photos, documents which is enough for me to switch to Passport. But still no videos, audios or GIFs. It was and still can send location, live voice messages, and contacts.
When trying to record an audio whatsapp crashes and closes down. For videos it just says, uploading failed.
