1985 Big Red Gets Some Upgrades!

- The 1985 Honda Big Red 250ES, my prized possession. This is really a do it all machine, from the farm to the trails this three wheeler has brought many smiles and it is a machine that I plan on keeping for years to come. Although I love and appreciate it as it is, I plan on adding some modern amenities to make it more useful in the modern age.
So in today's video I start out by replacing the old, worn out OEM grips with some ODI lock ons followed by a seat cover installation courteously sent out by an eBay seller you can check out in the link below. We also added a couple lighting upgrades and Alexis gives you a full walk around of the trike!
We end up going on a cinematic adventure coupled with drone shots and beautiful scenery. I bring the camera back out when the sun goes down to give you a complete look at the LED upgrades!

It’s a rare thing to find them in that condition so I totally understand those who want to preserve a rare find. On the other hand, every dent is a story. Every scratch is a moment in time that is to be remembered. I don’t wana go through life with no scars. That seems like a boring nerf life. Enjoy it for what it is. My first ride was a 185s ATV. It shaped who I am to this day. Looking back, that thing was a death trap. But I loved it. It was freedom. And my parents were badass for letting me rip around on it. Some kids never even go outside, how sad.
I say enjoy it as it is. It won’t let ya down and the memory’s should be clean and original.
First year for shaft drive. I had an 84 and 86. Never let me down and went everywhere,
There is one thing missing; the reverse button red R cap. You have to!
got one to restore today, cranked on first kick. Im trying to put a restoration list together. Needs a new muffler bad, the one on it has a massive hole. New seat new grips new plastics. Want to clean and refinish metal parts as needed. Not sure best order of operations.

Hell yeah, showin' Big Red some love...I'm diggin' it!! That seat turned out nice. From where I'm sitting it looks like it's in awesome condition, you got three wheeled gold right there. I think you can have fun on it without beating the hell out of it but if ya gotta send it, send it LOL.

YES! MORE BIG RED VIDEOS! I wired up the light bar on mine the same way, to come on with the high beam. The only difference is that I used a small one the just fits between the bottom of the rack and the fender. I think you should preserve the OEM plastics. Just look at the asking prices for junk ones and you may change your mind.

Big Red looking good....so does little Red, LOL..shout out 4 Lex :) . Dude, that thing would look hilarious with some Hub Cap Spinners on the back rims.....20 bucks at Track Auto...do they have Track Auto anymore? IDK, lol. Honda killed it with this model...the removable head light is brilliant. The light stick is cool. Since you went that far, you should mounts a couple LED's under the plastics to light up the Motor.....just a thought. Seat turned out Mint as well. You might need some Ape Hangers to get around your knees. Catch, Cook n Camp..good idea.

Duude this is such a sick build. Thoughts on the CT110/CT90 even though i know you already have a CT125? I have an 81 110 that I rebuilt that is so much fun to ride around town but I want to start taking it on some trails and maybe do some camping with it, thinking the 110 can handle just about anything other than >50mph. Love the channel, trying to get my wife into riding as well and shes about the same size as alexa right about 5 ft tall... any tips for her getting comfortable coming to a stop/starting when shes gotta dismount the seat due to height? Thanks!
The nipped grip is supposed to be on throttle side,with nipped portion for thumb throttle clearance
