Manabu Orido, aka Max Orido, has been on the screens of any Japanese car fan for the past few decades through everything from the Option video series, Best Motoring, or damn near anything involving drifting and racing Toyota Supra in the late 90s/early 2000s. For those of you that don't know or don't remember, it used to be a dream of his to race in NASCAR.

This man is one of my inspirations. I wish I had the money to start building my cars. I grew up watching him and the D1 guys drive. It's a dream goal of mine to meet him and the rest of the Best Motoring and D1 guys. This is so awesome.

super cool is an understatement almost. i would expect some one with his reputation to be atleast a tiny bit either uptight or shy around so many people but hes just there having a good time with everyone

I love the body kits, so clean and they accentuate the car perfectly.
His cars, especially A90 and 86 for me, are so beautiful! Perfect balance between aggressive and elegant.

I met max a few years ago in Canada, he was out randomly with his family. He said it was his daughter's graduation or sumn of the sort, I didn't even bother him for pic

Wow what a completely amazing video with so much heritage and history all balled up into 1. Much less getting to hang out with Max in his own personal $100,000 man cave / arcade. You Larry really do have one of the most amazing job's a true car enthusiast could deserve. Thank you guys soooo much for all this content from Japan its been my favorite so far out of all your work. Larry, this is a little corny, but this is one of my favorite videos. My daughter was born a few days after this video came out and as you know, we all went into COVID lockdown that month. So stuck at home, tired with a new baby, I remember watching this video and just being really happy. I rewatch this from time to time and think of that month a lot. Thank you and your team for the awesome videos and content you put out.
In 2003-2004 my friends and I were also hooked on Option drift videos. We had our S13’s with welded diffs and SR swaps (Forest Wang did my first SR swap in my S13 on Oahu) and we were obsessed. We’d go out street drifting and to the local track for drift session. we tried so hard to be the heroes too. Forest went on to be a hero.
Dayum! That racing simulator is noting short of badassery! Max Orido is such an awesome person. He's someone i'd like to always hang out with and help on his projects. Such a humble and fun person to be around.

I met Orido at TAS 2019 when I bought one of his team jackets. He's such a professional and perfectionist at what he does. I also love how he's helping fellow racing drivers with these sort of simulation tutorials.

I have a similar story of meeting Orido. Met him in 2003 at an RSR drift event outside Chicago. I also had him sign my event pamphlet and still have it to this day!

what an honor it must've have been to meet Orido and get to see his cars and get to teach you how to drive!!!!
I made my first full hydraulic setup a few years before Orido did, I was so stoked when he made the advocating for simulation as it does make a massive difference in muscle memory. It has made a massive improvement for SO many drivers worldwide. Simulator over a desk setup any and every day if you take driving seriously.

The 100th anniversary of pikes peak was on June 26th 2016. I cant wait for the one this year.
I like his body kits better than those put out in 86, I was 19 due to the crazy body kits out then, I chose a 67 Baja bug, In stead of a Japanese car. Although my dad bought a 77 Toyota Celica I went and look at.
Larry Thank you, these are the best episode's. Shows how far behind America is in some things. How lucky we are in others. We race on the streets, well here where I live anyway. I have Moto's come through every weekend. We drive from my place to Hot Springs or up HWY 7 to Jasper.
