So after picking this up and driving it for a while I am not going to cut into the body. I'll leave it stock body and leave the interior stock. First I'll manual swap it, then add a turbo, and then I'll see where this project takes us next. Thank you guys for watching.
They won't listen. JDM drift guys are the worst with this kind of thing. they have no respect for a built car, all they see is the potential on the track. They don't take anything else into consideration. this will be destroyed and another great JDM product will be lost.
I wouldn’t cut it up at all, those mark II are hard to find and when you can find a good one with the working digital dash in clean condition you should keep and daily it
Larry i must say, I own a JZX100 Chaser of your spec. Low miles, digital cluster, NA-1JZ with the pearl paint and props to you for doing what I can't because mine is too clean as well. I did put a kit on it but still has the seals and everything.
I just received an Aristo with very low miles, a 4.5, almost flawless. Transporter scratched it up! This is how I feel if you cut that up, don’t do it!
Don’t ruin it, buy another to make your drift car. Too many of our favs have been destroyed or sent to the crusher, keep it as a nice example, not only will it be great for the next buyer but it’ll be worth more money when selling. Win win
I humbly recommend making it a sleeper for daily. Leave the interior untouched, but do some nice engine mods or an engine swap. Some suspension work with fun & comfort in mind would be nice too
Awesome find! Seldom saw a car so clean and in prestige condition. Would be a shame to cut it up indeed. I would build it as a cruiser and maybe drop a supercharged UZ with a cd009, and keep the interior as original. Awesome to see some build videos coming in the future. I'm stoked!
OOF that's a Spicy Camry! Everyone cool loves Spicy Camries. Looks so much like a USDM XV20/4th Gen Camry, they are both even within an inch or two dimensionally all around, so those who know, like those kids, freak out but most people in Los Angeles just think you're driving a nicely maintained used camry or something. Which imo makes them amazing Sleepers in the US, you should keep it clean and stockish, make it a sleeper, put Camry badges on it but get power out of the RWD JZ setup that would be epic
Buy mine if you are going to cut it. Its a GX100 Mark II Its a project car located in Cali. Selling mine for supper cheap, 6k but negational. This JZX is way to clean to cut.
That dash cluster is a collectors item and one of the most sought after OEM dashes for any JDM car.. It's based on the same technology for the HUD as the F18. Toyota made it to commemorate the 5 year anniversary of Japan joining nato.
Oh no is right. I agree with everyone else. Find a beat up one to cut up. That one is super clean. Don't destroy it. When I am ready to buy a Aristo I hope I can find one that clean.
Motor swap is a clean way to do that clean car. I know it's not the drift car you want... but... it's a sought after daily hands down with the Lexus V8.. I would go that route for sure..
I live only a few miles from the port which that car came through. The JDM import market has gone berserk in the last 10 years particularly in Western Washington. I've noticed an interesting phenomenon. 1) such high importance placed in originality and cleanliness when the car will be cut up for a drift slut. 2) I rarely see anyone keep a JDM import longer than 18 months. Sold and resold over and over. 3) nothing gets fixed. That car has probably had 4 owners since it got to the US and nobody has fixed the headlamps? I can get on market place right now and find 50 JDM imports for sale privately and they will all say the same thing. Owned less than 18 months. Plans changed/going a different route. Small issues, "easy fix". Curious indeed.
Larry PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't touch this beauty, your V8 conversion wouldn't be a bad idea but i'd leave her the way she is. Wait what if you'd find an LEXUS LFA Engine you know the V10. Sweeeeeett
now that is machineeeee, Tha tis it, that is it.....Def a daily and street cruiser.....not every ca you own is to modify to the max, engine swap yes !!, car show build yes, clean
Larry, cut it up. Do exactly what you want with it. You could slap a turbo to that 2JZ-GE and get a decent and "reliable" 300-350 HP. Get yourself a brand new 6 speed manual CD009/00A from the dealer (was around $2,300), get a Collins Kit or similar to adapt it, do your fun stuff with the wheels, suspension and body then go enjoy it for a while. The 1UZ/3UZ V8 can come later. It is a beautiful car but make it your car. Wouldn't hurt to keep looking for Mark IIs/JZX100s - You might find one that's got more stuff done. Regardless, this particular car was a find! 21:48 The smoke is likely from the valve covers. If you're not inclined to replace the VC gaskets you might get away with re-torquing the hardware as a temporary fix (unless the gaskets are split). Good luck and I'm looking forward to this project.
Please don’t chop this up , please make the ultimate white VIP build . Polished everything , maybe engraved stuff . Please only classic JDM VIP LACED style ❤❤❤❤
If I mess up a survivor car, it will be the environment. In my case it has to be an economy survivor car because I got no garage to house it. lol. Even if it sustains environmental damage (paint mainly) it still works for me and maintains its practical value; a daily. I have a JDM Corolla G-Touring Wagon, '94, 1.5 AE100 engine, CVT, took possession in '21 with 9k kilometers... but had SHAKEN and Auction inspection 4.5 grade, meaning it was clean and importantly; road-worthy down to the tires. Running it every day since without a single glitch!

The right move
Would a V10 fit?
I don't get why you would buy a super clean automatic NA car instead of a rough manual turbo car, if you wanted a drift car.
Good choice Larry. Some other wheels and a roof spoiler, and its done 👌
Don't hurt the spicy Camry
🤯You can't cut that, Larry.
Tune it. Cruise it. Treasure it.
Don’t cut it up, just find a ruined one.
They won't listen. JDM drift guys are the worst with this kind of thing. they have no respect for a built car, all they see is the potential on the track. They don't take anything else into consideration. this will be destroyed and another great JDM product will be lost.
I have one for sale, I'd gladly sell it to him since this one is way to clean to cut.
@@tripjj8662have you not seen his other cars or you just like hate on jdm car people
Larry don't ruin this beauty, men looks too clean
Save it! They don’t make them anymore!
Clean daily with some power and suspension upgrades. Good to go.
Daily street cruiser
I wouldn’t cut it up at all, those mark II are hard to find and when you can find a good one with the working digital dash in clean condition you should keep and daily it
OEM+ build Larry. I helped a friend tear down a lexus for compatible chaser suspension parts. because parts in the us are in Japan.
Larry i must say, I own a JZX100 Chaser of your spec. Low miles, digital cluster, NA-1JZ with the pearl paint and props to you for doing what I can't because mine is too clean as well. I did put a kit on it but still has the seals and everything.
Definitely daily with some get up and go
dude, JZX100s look sooo good in white, and it's so clean as well, that thing is dream car material
Definitely daily. I'd hate to see it smashed up and rusty
Car is way to clean to cut up dude danggg.. Love the taillights on these.. Great car!
I just received an Aristo with very low miles, a 4.5, almost flawless. Transporter scratched it up! This is how I feel if you cut that up, don’t do it!
I’d say don’t cut it but swap it, make the dash work with the swap, it will be the sickest cleanest thing
Don’t ruin it, buy another to make your drift car. Too many of our favs have been destroyed or sent to the crusher, keep it as a nice example, not only will it be great for the next buyer but it’ll be worth more money when selling. Win win
JP, as usual, blessing the new world locals with some random german expletives 23:09
Do the toyota v8 lots of info out there on that and being toyota it would be cool
The car freshener he had in the car is hilarious at 11:00.
That’s a daily for sure.
That dash cluster in NUTZ! I've never seen a 3D speedo before and that has to be the coldest JDM 90's shit EVER!?
I humbly recommend making it a sleeper for daily. Leave the interior untouched, but do some nice engine mods or an engine swap. Some suspension work with fun & comfort in mind would be nice too

This JZX is way to clean to cut.
OEM PLUS Daily driver. Chaser have so much class, iconic design and durability 🍻. It’s badass.
Mark II is definitely awesome daily drifter like I like to use it :D
That dash cluster is a collectors item and one of the most sought after OEM dashes for any JDM car.. It's based on the same technology for the HUD as the F18. Toyota made it to commemorate the 5 year anniversary of Japan joining nato.
I wouldn't change a thing but VIP style would be so cool
I love that Numb by Linkin Park started playing when the stereo turned on
Yeah that poor car knows that its going to the slaughter house
You guys are living the dream, go you!!
Oh no is right. I agree with everyone else. Find a beat up one to cut up. That one is super clean. Don't destroy it.
When I am ready to buy a Aristo I hope I can find one that clean.
hell yeah larry this will be rad dude, cant wait to see it!
Motor swap is a clean way to do that clean car. I know it's not the drift car you want... but... it's a sought after daily hands down with the Lexus V8.. I would go that route for sure..
Newcombs Ranch is closed, that's terrible. That place was my introduction to motorcycling in Socal.
LARRY BUILDS LETS GOOOO
If you’re thinking 1UZ for your v8 swap I can for sure tell you that it fits perfect in the jzx engine bay.
That as a nice daily is a dream, don't cut it up
IMO these things are too rare now to be drifting a clean example. Get an Altezza and put a 2J in it if you want a 4 door Toyota drift car.
Nice choice Larry! My congratulations!
60 grand in New Zealand
Not for a NA auto
@yota8325 true i take that back
Seats are Lace shoulder covers. They're washable and removable.

Dirty single Turbo LS and Tr6060 💪🏽 Mirror tints
Yea gte and manual swap it and cruise it. Make it a nice drift week build
Waaay I’m so happy for you Larry
The smoke / steam … I believe there is a plastic coupler of sorts for coolant/heater core that has the tenancy to develop a crack.
Would be sick to get Sparcos but get custom lace on it and keep the rear seats stock.
after watch this I missed my sold mark ii lx80 with 1jz swap non vvti twin turbo in Malaysia here
Daily, possible resell, pick up a worse car and put surplus towards the next project?
Clean af such a cool ride
Larry PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't touch this beauty, your V8 conversion wouldn't be a bad idea but i'd leave her the way she is. Wait what if you'd find an LEXUS LFA Engine you know the V10. Sweeeeeett
Amazing video, Mr. Chen.
Don’t mess it up. That’s a legit time capsule
22:35 I need that keychain Larry. Where can I get that keychain Larry?
I remember these cars back in the day fresh from Japan imported in Jamaica
Yessssss Jdm RWD Camry 😉🤌🏼

JP in the vid
build the oem motor with a dual scroll Borgwarner turbo setup.
This video is like a grammar nightmare :D "it's never not went" and "Should have came with" :D
What a pleasant surprise to see JP in your video. It would be a shame to cut up your car.
7:37 unwrap....why would you do that?
You will 100% cook the engine doing canyon runs. 1jzge are hot running engines
BOTH 🎉🎉🎉
DONT CUT IT UP. keep the rolling tray in the neck rest too 😂💯👌🏻
Too good to be yeeeeeeet another drift car.
I do miss the Cressida triplets. Chaser/Mark II/Cresta
I'd leave this for the collectors... this needs to be kept original unless there are better ones out there
That mullet though 😂😂😂
Please don’t cut it up, it’s way too nice!!!!!!
too clean!
The intrusive thoughts are winning. Make sure Cagle exercises, please.
SO SICK
Hell yeah!
Gotta agree with the crowd here, she’s a DIME!! No surgery needed!! I know you don’t drift on that level but that car is too Beautiful!!
And he didn’t know the pearl was a wrap👌
dont drift missle it obviously

First comment from Florida 🔥
The Nightride Guys just cut up their JZX not even 24h ago
i really hope you find a beater for drifting instead. this is too much of a time capsule to turn into a missile.
97 with 36 K Km's, its such a nice car to cut..
the jz engines are nice
Mark 2 is rwd so no Camry. More akin to Lexus
Just swap it and use it as daily driver!
Please don’t chop this up , please make the ultimate white VIP build . Polished everything , maybe engraved stuff . Please only classic JDM VIP LACED style ❤❤❤❤

I say daily vip maybe something along that with a little go
hit up the chaser parts companies like Serial nine
Staggers the mind that Larry Chen doesn't have a million subscribers
Too clean to cut. Leave the lace on those seats ⛩
nooo please take this down, the prices are already absurd 😭😭😭😭
great ANOTHER car
Bro, drifting is cool and all but all drift car quickly become trash and will never see the road again. Just Daily the clean car you found.
