I guess it's also a coincidence that I have started building my first model, a helicopter, of the year with a number of others planned.
Holy moly, this kit reminds me of the larger scale Five Star Stories minus the LEDs and actuated parts. Thanks for also mentioning where the Gundam property is in the world on recognition/scope. I hope you do a review of Supreme Evolutions Stargazer. The Stargazer is by far my favourite Gundam in the franchise (followed by Strike Noir and Zephyranthes), and it's disappointing to me that Bandai has never made an official MG kit of it.
Wish it had some sort of way to lock the arm to hold the shield up though that is asking for a lot. Aside from that, everything else just makes me excited for this kit to come. Biggest thing I'm curious about is how the build experience will be especially for beginners who've only built a couple bandai kits like me

Im a Bandai guy through and through, I wish they would have capitalized on the anniversary and release some 2.0s, but oh well. Thank goodness for the 3rd party. That nuke bazooka gimmick on this kit has me in awe. You were spot on with your critique of Bandai and the lack of innovation from them lately.
Bandai is starting to remind me of Game Freak, the Pokemon company who makes lazy broken games despite Pokemon being the most lucrative franchise in the world. Now a small Indy Dev studio made Palworld that is Breath of the Wild, Meets Pokemon, Meets Ark. Truly amazing, Indy devs are stepping in where Billionaire companies don't even make the minimal effort.
I feel you there man. I've been wishing for them to finally release the barzam refined, I was lucky enough to get the robot spirits version before they went to ridiculous prices.
This looks *VERY* tempting, and I see people complaining about the price, but it looks worth it. My only major concern is the connection between the two halves of the bazooka when those pins don't line up like they're supposed to.
3:37 Would you even go so far as to say a recent, "STARDUST MEMORY"? YYYYEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH Well, shit. You sold me on this, Gundam. I remember seeing the teaser for 0083 when I was in junior high and they were starting to bring more Gundam anime over to the U.S. because of how popular Gundam Wing became. This was the Mobile Suit that made me fall in love with Gundam. All the other Gundams were thin and svelte but this... THIS THICC FUCKING BOI caught my attention. I pre ordered mine.
I’m in the US and I can only get cr1220 batteries. They are not strong enough for both the lights and the motors to move. Works without the motors. What stronger batteries can I get here
That's a really sexy MG of one of my favourite Gundam Designs. I haven't gotten any new Gunpla in a while as I'm a bit strapped for frivolous spending right now and I've already got a bit of a backlog of kits to make. I normally love MGs as my preferred scale because I like the size on top of how many more unique details MG kits seem to have (extra detailing, more mechanical design, etc. - I like RGs for a similar reason despite their smaller scale). The stuff shown in the video here looks really nice, I'd love having this GPO2 sitting in a case, posed with his BEEEEEG beam saber and shield. Heck, I'd even love a more updated version of Gato's Gelgoog. I got the older MG for that and it surprised me how different the build felt compared to newer MG kits lol. Lot of older stuff that could use some new releases, updates, or appreciation. Would love having the Kampfer or the O too... I'm getting away from myself fantasizing lol. A bit of a side ramble: I haven't actually kept track of what kits have been coming out as of late, not even sure where you see that stuff, but I feel as if I haven't really seen any new MGs or other kits that interest me much. I get a sense I should check out more 3rd party kits, I don't know how reliable they are compared to Bandai's offerings, but I do love seeing how they seem more willing to take a chance on making lesser known/prominent Mobile Suits into MGs, at least from what I understand anyway as a more casual builder/collector lol. You bring up Resin kits too, but I've never worked with a Resin kit either, not sure what to expect out of that or how it would differ from the usual plastic stuff.
This looks amazing! The only thing I worry about third party kits is how much the released product differs from the prototype images (or videos in this case). Do they have any previous track record?
the only most recent GP02 before this was the RX-78GP02R Gundam GP-Rase-Two a custom version of the gp02 from gundam build divers as a hg. but yea this kit looks just amazing
Ordered two kits off Taobao; $50/ea to the consolidation warehouse, then I'll pay shipping to door. I expect it to be around $40 for that, so still under gundamit's price.
?????? i picked up a master grade GP-02 a couple years ago. i have it on my shelf in the other room. and it looks great. you can find gp-03 at the big bad toy store right now, Canadian gundam store right now has the GP-03 and GP-02, thats where i got mine,... o and on page 4 when sorting by in stock, that same store has the GP-01. those master grades are not hard to find and are still in circulation. gundam you want to find it ask your brother tim here lol| now i will admit my MG gp o2 does not have the detail that your showing with these kits, that bazooka is sick, and all the hatch gimicks are sweet the biggest problem with my kit is that it cant hold its own shield. its just to big for those bandai hands and polycaps. :P
The RX78GP-02A was one of the first kits i built (the original bandai run, cost an arm and a leg) and holds a special place on my display as not only my favorite Gundam, but as a reminder of how far I have come. Really excited to get my hands on this third party model
Wow that thing is actually insane ! It really makes you wonder what the hell Bandai are doing, I guess they're just focusing on easier to make and sell HGs ? Which would make sense but at the same time 1/100s could use some love and I say that as a person that has only built two MGs. It's really sad seeing a whole chunk of the fandom getting shafted, I really feel for MG enjoyers - also PG enjoyers. I completely forgot those existed for a second there
They were putting the MG engineering into the later RG kits in the hopes that would tide over those who really want more MGs. It hasn't worked, only made people want revised MG kits of older releases. Bandai is shooting themselves in the foot by not giving us what we want, because it's only opened the door for 3rd parties to come in and sweep all that missed opportunity up for major windfalls of profit with amazing kits.
@@kivulifenrir They've pretty much done everything but give people MGs which is kinda funny but truly bizarre, the RGs getting better is great, SD getting better is good I suppose but it's so random like who was clamoring for a MGSD line ? Lol. And on one hand it's nice that third party manufacturers are getting their time to shine, maybe Bandai will take notice and actually pump out some more MGs whether they're 2.0, 3.0 or brand new. For example a MG Geara Zulu would be fantastic
@@lllXanderlll MGSD really is just a placeholder imo, takes up that MG slot so they can say they are releasing an MG, it's just not what we want. I also can't really say much on SD kits, given I'm not a fan of them at all. And I'm sure Bandai looking at 3rd parties is only in the sense of trying to shut them down if they stray too close to their bread & butter. Would be nice to see new MGs, but I really feel they're going to stick to HG releases for profits over innovation/new.
The 1/100 prelude of snow wing gundam A RG God gundam Even the 8 HG core gundam series - " core gundam + Armor system + corresponding weapon set = 1box " Gundam base limited kits - HG perfectabikty unicorn, Astray red dragon PG 1/60 RX 78 unleash also in RX78-3 colors And many more varielty in bootlegs
To answer ALL of this questions: 1) china does not have to pay for the rights of the franchise, so theres that. 2) cost of hiring designers is a lot cheaper 3) cheaper access to the machinery needed to craft the parts 4) direct and inmediate access to the factories to exploit the full capabilities that they offer. 5) direct deals with the factories 6) reduced taifs
Ngl, I ordered 1 as soon as I knew it existed. I have an MG GP02 but dear god does it show its age. Since 3rd party makers have been doing a surprisingly good job with recent kits, why not?
I am a used to be a Gunpla collector but I shifted to Transformers because they are more of my line but once this MG appeared, iI will go back to building Gunpla one more time because Gp02 and I love the flying piece of metal nuclear death.
Stardust is hands down best gundam series and GP02 is top 3 of all gundam designs. Bandai is leaving money on the table, if they made a PG GP02, they wouldnt be able to sell them fast enough. I'm glad 3rd parties are taking initiative, this kit looks amazing, definitely preordering.
I honestly need them to tackle a Barbatos Lupus Rex 1/100. Either them, the guys behind The Jugde, or the ones behind the IN ERA+ Aurora. It would be a dream kit.
Maybe they will make GP01 Full Burnern if the sale on this kit going well or if they go sicko mode, they probably release 1/100 scale Dendrobium with that kind of details but with reasonable price. One can only imagine.
I really appreciate that there are companies out there doing what Bandai refuse to do. Though one nitpick that I have in particular for this certain company is how they chose to sell this awesome kit. From what I've in the Chinese Plamo community, Solomon(the company) is planning to up the price for this kit(from 268 to 288 yuan) after seeing the positive feedback from the first batch of preorders. Shenanigans like this really hurts the company's image and make them seem really predatory. Though I'm probably still gonna get this kit
I've said to my friends before and I'll say it again, 2024 is going to be one the best years for Gunpla enthusiasts, at least in terms of 3rd party kits.

I have one ordered. I can't wait to build
Wow, that's really cool! This is a great video!
If bandai would release an MG like this, Gerbera is my pick ❤
The website says they've sold out of the pre-orders. Do you know of another website that would sell this kit? Love the channel, your awesome dude.
3:37 Would you even go so far as to say a recent, "STARDUST MEMORY"? YYYYEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH
Well, shit.
Oh wow, I'm JUST about to start 0083 for the first time!
Hi, i am wondering where you got this kit, is possible for you to tell me?
I’m in the US and I can only get cr1220 batteries. They are not strong enough for both the lights and the motors to move. Works without the motors. What stronger batteries can I get here
THEY ADDED ROTATING PARTS. OH BABY.
0083 is hands down the best Gundam OVA. There’s a reason I collect the 0083 gunpla more than other series.
Now we need a 3rd party MG gp01 with the visuals of the RG
I do hope that the people who made this kick ass MG GP02 also come out with their own MG of GP01 to go with it.
This reminds me of the MG Sazabi with all of the big bulky opening armor
Man I really need to start paying more attention. This is the first I have heard of this kit and looks like all the preorders are sold out.
the only most recent GP02 before this was the RX-78GP02R Gundam GP-Rase-Two a custom version of the gp02 from gundam build divers as a hg. but yea this kit looks just amazing
I have 0083 on blu ray.... one of my favorites.
I tried to pre order this but they are already sold out.
Ordered two kits off Taobao; $50/ea to the consolidation warehouse, then I'll pay shipping to door. I expect it to be around $40 for that, so still under gundamit's price.
when i saw the bazooka automatic pre order. Motor nuclear kits are amazing. Update, its amazing, only issue is the bazooka connector a bit flimsy
?????? i picked up a master grade GP-02 a couple years ago. i have it on my shelf in the other room. and it looks great. you can find gp-03 at the big bad toy store right now, Canadian gundam store right now has the GP-03 and GP-02, thats where i got mine,... o and on page 4 when sorting by in stock, that same store has the GP-01. those master grades are not hard to find and are still in circulation. gundam you want to find it ask your brother tim here lol|
now i will admit my MG gp o2 does not have the detail that your showing with these kits, that bazooka is sick, and all the hatch gimicks are sweet
the biggest problem with my kit is that it cant hold its own shield. its just to big for those bandai hands and polycaps. :P
The RX78GP-02A was one of the first kits i built (the original bandai run, cost an arm and a leg) and holds a special place on my display as not only my favorite Gundam, but as a reminder of how far I have come. Really excited to get my hands on this third party model
Can't wait for Gundam painting lessons!
Where can I preorder? Can’t find it anywhere. :(
Damn i want this kit!! Also kinda leaning towards saving the scrilla and just buying the daban pgu rx782..
Does anyone know where I can preorder a Solomon GP02 kit?
The 1/100 prelude of snow wing gundam
A RG God gundam
Even the 8 HG core gundam series -
" core gundam + Armor system + corresponding weapon set = 1box "
Gundam base limited kits - HG perfectabikty unicorn, Astray red dragon
PG 1/60 RX 78 unleash also in RX78-3 colors
And many more varielty in bootlegs
Man, I really want that GPO3 with the mobile Armor so bad I remember my first time looking at that Beast take out a whole Fleet.
To answer ALL of this questions:
1) china does not have to pay for the rights of the franchise, so theres that.
2) cost of hiring designers is a lot cheaper
3) cheaper access to the machinery needed to craft the parts
4) direct and inmediate access to the factories to exploit the full capabilities that they offer.
5) direct deals with the factories
6) reduced taifs
Ngl, I ordered 1 as soon as I knew it existed. I have an MG GP02 but dear god does it show its age.
Since 3rd party makers have been doing a surprisingly good job with recent kits, why not?
I am a used to be a Gunpla collector but I shifted to Transformers because they are more of my line but once this MG appeared, iI will go back to building Gunpla one more time
because Gp02 and I love the flying piece of metal nuclear death.
Was it the DM blue Frame, not the out frame, that caused the closure?
It's testament gundam and out frame D that got them
I really appreciate that there are companies out there doing what Bandai refuse to do.
08th MS Team is still my favorite Gundam series
I've said to my friends before and I'll say it again, 2024 is going to be one the best years for Gunpla enthusiasts, at least in terms of 3rd party kits.
