Out of all the zombie apocalypse movies/games, and other end of the world stuff. This actually has some basis in real life, there is actually a fungus that takes over ants and controls them until they die in order for the fungus to spread. Imagine if that is transmitted to humans
32:30 actually the guy wanted joel to shoot him. his mask broke which means he inhaled the spores and got infected. if joel didn’t shoot him, he would have turned. turning into one of those things is way worse than death imo..

Some suggestions and answers to your questions...Make sure to check all rooms and corners for loot, even if they're not on your route, and even if Tess goes ahead without you, she'll wait for you. Sometimes loot won't light up until you are right next to it. Use bottles to get enemies to move to chosen spot to investigate the sound, or hit them directly to disorient them long enough to grab and strangle them. In combat, shivs can only be used once you've grabbed a human or a runner, then you'll see the option for "shiv". For more powerful infected, the shiv will be an option even before grabbing them, assuming you are close enough. Have a blast, you're doing great!😃
I always find it interesting that most players feel bad about shooting that guy. Nobody needs to feel bad about killing him. He asks you for help... and you are free to choose your course of action. Does any of this count as "backseat gaming" for you? Everyone has different ideas about what counts as backseat gaming. You're doing great!
@@LizXP Imagine how the cast felt having to shoot Sarah's death scene on the motion capture stage. Bear in mind, Hana Hayes who played the role of Sarah was only 12 at the time. Six hours they spent doing take after take that day, the cast and crew were emotionally drained. Then a fortnight later Neil Druckmann calls Troy, Hana and Jeffrey to reshoot the scene again. The fact that they had the resolve to come back and make that scene work the way it does when you play the game (especially Hana), I couldn't do it I would just throw in the towel. That's why I harbour so much admiration for them.
You did way better than about 95% of the people I see trying and failing to play this game how it's meant to be played! I appreciate the focus and effort to detail. Wayyyyyy too many people who look like a 5-year-old with no attention span pretending to be gamers. I'm not an expert gamer by any means, but I appreciate people making a genuine effort and having an idea of what they're doing in terms of looting etc. You got a new subscriber!

one tip i have is look everywhere for loot, their are limited resources in this game so every BIT of loot matters it's obviously worse dependent on difficulty but even opening every drawer and exploring around you'll need
I played the game in 2013. I still listen to the soundtrack on spotify and I love to see people playing this classic. The story is very emotional and they take it even further with the last of us part 2

Thanks for this goggle-filled episode of Last of Us pt 1. I am really looking forward to this playthrough. I watched the series when it came out, but did not play either of the games. I first saw a Last of Us Part 2 playthrough, before i saw a Pt 1 playthrough. This is going to be a lot of fun, very excited to see this game played.

@@mraravind1111 tlou 1 already has a ps4 version. it’s called the last of us remastered. the remake was built from the ground up for the ps5 which means it’s more technologically advanced than tlou part 2 and is more than the ps4 can handle

This game will make even the hardest of men emotional, it’s an absolute emotional roller coaster with unequivocally the greatest ever storytelling & acting in gaming history period! I’d give anything to have my first ever play through again having seriously played it well over 20/25 times.
Hey Liz Really looking forward to this, there is no human alive that does not at least tear up in the beginning lol BTW, Whatchutalkinbout? There ain't no goggles in the game! lol Yeah, you need to explore to find ammo and parts, the game will be super hard if you don't stock up... IK you don't like recommendations but these are not really backseat as they can be easily missed things... you can stop around NPCs for a bit, especially Ellie, after big fight scenes, or when they just stop to look at something, that will prompt for a conversation, and it is a nice detail that many miss(For example, in the intro area, you missed 3 conversation opportunities where you'd've seen how much weigh Joel carried in Boston.
That was a great start. Coming into this game with the show first, the similarities and differences are interesting. Your Let's Plays are so much fun. Looking forward to more.
Awesome reaction and the beginning always hits hard with all the events that ensue, the combat can take a bit to get used to but soon it will be second nature and the story is well absolutely incredible. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Very welcome and yes I think most have got to get used to the combat especially without full upgrades for the weapons they tend to sway a lot especially in hectic fights, the story is so well done that you quickly adapt though so enjoy the game.

Omgggg I did not expect u to start this game yet, also are u going to still be playing RDR2? U still have the 2 chapters of the Epilogue with John to play which I highly recommend doing considering if ur going to be playing RDR1 in the future that will tie the whole story together😅👍🏻

I don't know why, but the "remember, when you're lost in the darkness - look for the light" during the intro always give me goosebumps. I was gonna say you're in for a treat, but at the time of writing this, you are already 6 episodes in, so I guess you know already. I always like to watch playthroughs of my favorite games, as it is the closest I can get to play them for the first time again myself.

I've never experienced this game (I love the show though), so I can't wait to do so alongside you! I'm only 3 episodes behind, so hopefully I can catch up quickly.
Pro tip: use bottles to face enemies away from you to do a stealth kill on them. They're a distraction. But if there's more than one who will hear it, the second one will see you grab them and you'll be in a gun fight. Bricks won't make as much noise so they're good for hitting enemies directly to stun them and run up and grab them when others are around. Bottles can be used for this too but they'll also attract others. Bottles can also be used to distract enemies in order to sneak by them. This is useful when there's multiple enemies that you need to get by.

I'm really happy you're playing TLOU. Please play the DLC, as well. It'll give you some important background information and fill in some gaps in the main game. While it's a bit divisive TLOU2 is a brilliant game and I think you should play it, as well. Speaking of "information" I'll give you a bit of advise. When people are talking and things are happening (excluding combat, of course), go there and pay attention. You're missing out on things and this game is linear. You can't go back later and experience this stuff. Related to this, don't just go off on tangents like a ferret distracted by shinies. Your companions sometimes have stuff they want to say and I see so many people completely missing these interactions. You'll know when they don't have anything to say because they won't say anything after a few moments when you're close to them. Then you can go check out the surroundings, and poke into all the corners so you don't miss important loot -- like bullets and crafting items. Remember that the game will usually seem to be encouraging you to go in a particular direction, but it's not always best to immediately go there. Stick with your companions, unless they're clearly leading you in the obvious direction. Check out the immediate environment, and avoid the obvious route until you're ready to move on. Doing what the game seems to be urging you to do may result in triggering events which will preclude you from backtracking. There are collectibles (Firefly pendants), and you're going to miss most of these if you don't follow this rule. Last hint: Shivs. You need them. Other than getting out of certain scripted deaths, you also need them to get through some doors. These doors lead to rooms with lots of valuable loot, but using a shiv to access them will destroy the shiv. There are two levels to the Shiv Master skill. I highly recommend getting at least the first, since this is the skill lets you avoid that insta-death I mentioned. You can find two manuals (still ahead of you in your playthrough) that increase the number of uses of a shiv before it breaks.
Fun thing, seems you have already done this game, a great franchise, going to be vague just in case, the game has my alltime favorite game voice actor Troy Baker (he voices Joel, Erron Black in Mortal Kombat, the protagonist in Bioshock 3, the villain from Death Stranding, among other things…all I did there was say those exist, no spoilers, hes just such a good VA
Is this the remastered? Because i didn't remember it having any dialog bugs ever, in Tommy's car there's some sentences were he wasn't loud enough and sometimes we couldn't even hear him
@@LizXP This is the "Remake" version "The last of us Part 1", September 2022 for PlayStation 5 and in March 2023 for Windows. The "remastered" version was in 2014, "The last of Us, Remastered". Watched a bunch of your Skyrim videos early on, but never subscribed. Just did. So buckle up and commit to Part 1, the DLC and Part 2. Guarantee you won't play anything else like it. And oh yeah... don't play without your goggles.
Before playing the second game, I strongly advise that you play the DLC as it does provide more information on Ellie's backstory. Also, there are two foreshadowing events in the DLC that will take place in the second game.

IK you don't like recommendations but these are not really backseat as they can be easily missed things... you can stop around NPCs for a bit, especially Ellie, after big fight scenes, or when they just stop to look at something, that will prompt for a conversation, and it is a nice detail that many miss(For example, in the intro area, you missed 3 conversation opportunities where you'd've seen how much weigh Joel carried in Boston.
I played more yesterday and those little conversations popped up! Such a cool detail! Thank you!

Very welcome and yes I think most have got to get used to the combat especially without full upgrades for the weapons they tend to sway a lot especially in hectic fights, the story is so well done that you quickly adapt though so enjoy the game.

Pro tip: use bottles to face enemies away from you to do a stealth kill on them. They're a distraction. But if there's more than one who will hear it, the second one will see you grab them and you'll be in a gun fight. Bricks won't make as much noise so they're good for hitting enemies directly to stun them and run up and grab them when others are around. Bottles can be used for this too but they'll also attract others.
Bottles can also be used to distract enemies in order to sneak by them. This is useful when there's multiple enemies that you need to get by.

I'm really happy you're playing TLOU. Please play the DLC, as well. It'll give you some important background information and fill in some gaps in the main game. While it's a bit divisive TLOU2 is a brilliant game and I think you should play it, as well.
Speaking of "information" I'll give you a bit of advise. When people are talking and things are happening (excluding combat, of course), go there and pay attention. You're missing out on things and this game is linear. You can't go back later and experience this stuff.
Related to this, don't just go off on tangents like a ferret distracted by shinies. Your companions sometimes have stuff they want to say and I see so many people completely missing these interactions. You'll know when they don't have anything to say because they won't say anything after a few moments when you're close to them. Then you can go check out the surroundings, and poke into all the corners so you don't miss important loot -- like bullets and crafting items.
Remember that the game will usually seem to be encouraging you to go in a particular direction, but it's not always best to immediately go there. Stick with your companions, unless they're clearly leading you in the obvious direction. Check out the immediate environment, and avoid the obvious route until you're ready to move on. Doing what the game seems to be urging you to do may result in triggering events which will preclude you from backtracking. There are collectibles (Firefly pendants), and you're going to miss most of these if you don't follow this rule.
Last hint: Shivs. You need them. Other than getting out of certain scripted deaths, you also need them to get through some doors. These doors lead to rooms with lots of valuable loot, but using a shiv to access them will destroy the shiv. There are two levels to the Shiv Master skill. I highly recommend getting at least the first, since this is the skill lets you avoid that insta-death I mentioned. You can find two manuals (still ahead of you in your playthrough) that increase the number of uses of a shiv before it breaks.
Fun thing, seems you have already done this game, a great franchise, going to be vague just in case, the game has my alltime favorite game voice actor Troy Baker (he voices Joel, Erron Black in Mortal Kombat, the protagonist in Bioshock 3, the villain from Death Stranding, among other things…all I did there was say those exist, no spoilers, hes just such a good VA

@@LizXP This is the "Remake" version "The last of us Part 1", September 2022 for PlayStation 5 and in March 2023 for Windows. The "remastered" version was in 2014, "The last of Us, Remastered". Watched a bunch of your Skyrim videos early on, but never subscribed. Just did. So buckle up and commit to Part 1, the DLC and Part 2. Guarantee you won't play anything else like it. And oh yeah... don't play without your goggles.

Before playing the second game, I strongly advise that you play the DLC as it does provide more information on Ellie's backstory. Also, there are two foreshadowing events in the DLC that will take place in the second game.
