You guys totally misunderstood what Jaime was doing there. When Catelyn released him, he swore a vow to her not to take up arms against Starks or Tullys. So he had to find away to take Riverrun away from the Blackfish without storming the castle. He therefore needed Edmure to cooperate with him. That's why he made those nasty threats. In the end only one person was killed (the Blackfish) but he was killed by Frey soldiers (not Lannister) so Jaime did not break his oath. The books made this very clear. In the show you had to read between the lines to figure it out.
And in the books the Blackfish doesn't die. Jamie looks for him at the end of Feast
The show stripped away so much of the depth Jamie had in the books. Stuff like this where his actions are calculated but the depiction is so vague that you're not likely to see it unless you know what you're looking for, but especially the way they have him back to his obsession with Cersei where the books have him pulling away. The final interaction in S4E10 between Tyrion and Jamie being all brotherly with none of the life-altering revelations in A Storm of Swords really flattened out both characters.
That’s book Jaime. I believe show Jaime just really wanted to get to Cersei. He wasn’t over her, he never had to throw her letter into the fire
I’ve seen this episode countless times and didn’t realise that!! Makes sense too 🤔🤗
I never read the books yet I was able to deduce that from this scene but a lot of people miss it from the reactions I’ve seen. I also think he did it out of love/concern for Brianne so he wouldn’t have to fight her. It once again shows that Jamie is willing to make himself look like the bad guy in order to do the right thing.
You're right about Arya. Jaquen always knew she wouldn't be a faceless man, he says so on multiple ocassions. He just helped her see that, and trained her to be a badass while doing so.
The next 2 episodes of this season is some of the greatest television you'll ever watch in your lifetime!! Get ready!!!
But the internet tells me throne’s ended after season 4😂😂
@@SteveR-w1q thats because book people are toxic af. If its not exactly like the books, they hate it, if its too much like the books, they flame it for not trying something new
@@SteveR-w1qyeah I hate that bc 9/10 is some of best media back to back ever
@user-dv3fi7zs3t 😂 yeah well we all know how reliable the internet can be
@@SteveR-w1q because it did when it comes to making sense of the politic plot but season 6 is still has epic tv show moments
She did it in the dark as she learned to fight blind so she is at an advantage in darkness
Which doesn't make sense considering the Waif has gone through the exact same training Arya has, and she actually completed it. Not to mention she isn't wounded.
@@_S0LUS_ 🤷🏼♀️well that’s what I took from the scene, i mean I think the point of Arya is that she couldn’t let go of her true self as she kept asking questions, and when some one that wronged her was in arms reach she took the opportunity to avenge her family and friends so maybe the waif in the show could see in the dark
@@_S0LUS_Undoubtedly the Waif is out of practice fighting blind while Arya is fresh off being blind. Also, I suspect there really isn't a whole lot of strategy fighting blind anyway. It's mostly just random lashing out. In any case, Arya evens the odds.
@@_S0LUS_ but we don't know when she did it, could be years before and she doesn't remember that well idk
Why do you assume she went through training blind? Arya got that part of training just cause she was punished and made blind for it.@@_S0LUS_
Jamie is obviously being a smart strategist here: he took the castle with minimum bloodshed. We can say he is his father's son.
I think its not clear in the show how he promised Cat to never fight against house tuly or house stark (this was very clear in the books), so he had to embrace his inner Tywin Lannister.
He was a bit sad about the black fish because that promised, he didnt want him to die.
@@SoyRaulEVM It's more impactful this way. Jaime is showing his true self, oaths notwithstanding
Arya made it dark because only she had trained without sight. In guaranteed her victory.
Once you see The Battle of the Bastards you will never forget it! 😂 The next 2 episodes are a masterpiece 🔥
Peak Game of Thrones; both together are like a movie (that should've been in IMAX)!!
Such a weird reaction to Jamie using his words to end the fight.he obviously uses people's belief of what they think he is to save lives.
Because of how terrible he seems to be with cersei people just don't understand him still,he is always looking to save lives and stand by his family
@@obafemidamilare5201 reactors are blind to characters just because of their last name, Jaime or Cersei do something and always get hated, a Stark does something wrong and reactors say nothing, like last episode they hated on Glover for criticizing Robb, when he was right in everything he said about Robb
people generally don't understand/appreciate complex (non-single dimensional) characters. mostly people go for face value rather than understanding the depth of their actions... i guess in a show like this where the best part is beautifully written grey complex characters, they miss out so much...
@@rosiii9 This isn't just reactors. The majority of people are this way. They end up with favorites that can do not wrong even when they do wrong and they end up with characters they hate even when those characters do something morally good. I've seen the majority of people miss Danny's hunger for power which showed from the get go, just because they loved her so much. It's really kind of screwed up considering that the characters are sort of a reflection of real life people....not always good and not always bad. That's how most people in this world are. No one is always good and rarely is anyone always bad. This is one reason out of many that this show was so amazing. While they did have some characters (Joffrey and Ramsey) completely evil they also still had a few characters that were more of a balance.
If you get cut as a child, puberty doesn't kick in for you. Varys doesn't need to shave.
Bridgetts "ok bye" at 5:30 at the beheading made me laugh so hard. I know I got Soo many looks, thanks for helping me look like a nut.🤣👍❤️
Prepare yourself wisely. The next two episodes will blow your mind!
Ahhhhhh ❤
"I choose violence" actual chills
One of the most memorable lines in the whole series.
Tommen: Hold my water.
I did it in needlepoint; one of my favorite things.
Jaime tried to reason with Edmure, but he wasn't getting through to him. So he decided to instead use Edmure's contempt to his advantage with the threat. It worked.
I have yet to watch a reactor that understood that Jaime was using his bad reputation to end the siege without bloodeshed.
Jaime has a lot of complexity. I’m always confused by people not picking up on it. He ended up being one of my favorite characters.
Until season 8 when they just piss all that off.
@@stevem2323 interesting, I didn’t see that at all. I thought his character remained interesting throughout.
that's the second time Tyrion doesn't get to finish his honeycomb in a brothel story :'( (we all wanted to know alongside Robin Arryn at his trial in season 1)
“64 Mormonts probably not gonna be a difference maker.” They may not be a large house, but they are a proud one.
“House Mormont, Here We Stand.” RAWR 🐻
One of the greatest lines in GOT “I choose violence “ 😂
Arya is a bad-ass because, in addition to blind lessons from the Waife, she learned water dancing from the first Sword of Bravos and knows exactly what to say to Death, "Not today." 😎 Buckle in for another all-episode battle in one location followed by a wild trial at the Sept.😉
"It prob goes in a circle"🤣🤣 2:33
“Are you going to make an ice wine? Winter is coming.” 🤣🤣🤣
Battle of the Bastards.... an episode that will live in your memory until the end of days.
You putting your heads on the actors now is freaking hilarious. Good job.
"My name is Arya Stark of Winterfell and I'm going home" I cheered 👏🏽👏🏽✊🏽
Jaimie can't be the Lord of Casterly Rock because he is a King's Guard. That's why Tyrion was telling Tywin in S3 that it was by law that it was his.😊
But he was relieved of his duties by King Tommen, which is why he is now clad in Lannister Red and leading his forces to Riverrun. You can;t be in the Kings guard and be hundreds of leagues away from the king. It wasn't Tommen who sent him to recapture Riverrun.
Next two episodes will never be beaten on TV ever again
The GREATEST Dual Episodes are coming & my Favourite : WINDS OF WINTER 😭😭😭😭
Testosterones is linked to hair growth. The reasons eunuchs and castration was a thing wasn't just because of assaults and etc, but less testosterones meant the voice wouldn't lower (altar boys could keep singing high), less body hairy, less aggression and all of the attributes linked to men. (The hormone is heavily produced inside the testicle, most "castrations" were actually the removal of the testicles, just like a dog, not the penis).
"It's a Lannister thing..." 🤣
I love this episode and they way the hound just walks up with the axe and kills them guys by the fire🤣🤣
I liked how he was negotiating with the Brotherhood over how many he gets to kill versus letting them hang.
Since you started this journey ive been waiting for you to get to these next 2 episodes!
And Arya was leaving the blood marks on purpose so she would follow her
Battle of the Bastards, YEAH, BAY-BEE!!! Get hype! It's that good.
What a waste of a perfectly fine Blackfish.
That and Aya jumping around like Catwoman after getting stabbed nearly to death made me roll my eyes so much.
D&D's writing is starting to show its shortcomings, and it'll get worse once their characters teleportation portals go online.
Still, an otherwise great episode with some awesome scenes ranging from "I choose violence" to Dany's return, to "You're s***t at dying".
You're almost getting it. Arya is impressing whom? There is no one there. There is no "he". Arya just finally accepted that she's Arya, now, but she is also no one, because she can take on the personality and characteristics of whomever she wants to be. She was blind for so long, and trained in the dark, so that she knew she'd have the advantage in that dark place once she cut the candle. Her being blind wasn't really a "punishment", it's the god of Death's way of helping the person detach from themselves. So he's right, she's finally no one. But she can live as Arya for a while when she wants. She still has a want. A "she". So she's not completely detached but she's getting there.
the next 2 episodes are my favorites and one of the best soundtracks in the ep 10
Qyburn did find something more. MUCH MORE!!!! But you will have to wait to find out.
this is something you will notice only when you watch the show second, third... time.. It will be epic :)
THE
BATTLE
OF
THE
BASTARDS 🎉
LET'S GOOOOO
Nobody noticing the utter romanticism of "It's yours. It'll always be yours."
Can’t wait for you guys done all seasons to watchHouse of the dragons
Don't discount 64 Mormonts. Just remember their house emblem for the next episode
62
Arya learned to fight blind when she was being punished, then used that to her advantage by turning out the lights and turning the tables on the Waif, killing her and giving the owed life to the faceless god.
Love the battle of the bastards... has yet to happen in books... pink letter in the books
We sure are in the thick of things now .. buckle up ❤
I'm so excited to see you react to the next two episodes, for me they are the best of the entire series, they are masterpieces.
I’m actually doing my 4th full series watch with you two! You’ve been a lot of fun all along the way, looking forward to the rest of this season, especially the next few episodes!
The next two are the best episodes of the whole show 🎉❤
I really want an Arya spin of where she goes west of westoros. We learn in the books really only one person has ever made it back from trying to go farther west. We learn from old nana they may live in the eye of a giant. It's a whole mindfuck lol. There are lots of tales. This story goes deep. I encourage you to look at maps for game of thrones online. There are very strange places with strange creatures and humans. Btw I have really bad depression and you made me laugh today ... Thank you.... I really mean it thank you Kody you say what we were all thinking in the funniest way. I ❤ watching you guys!
The way I took the whole Arya scenario, is that Jaquan formed a personal attachment to Arya. Being that she saved his life, came all the way to see him & she cried over him when she assumed he died. I think he gave her the special Daredevil training, one that the Waif was not trained in. I think the writers took a page from most of the old Kung Fu movies, when the old Master pass on their ancient skill to a pet student. Killing the Waif was a sign that her training was complete, so she can go on her way to seek revenge on those who wronged her family, just like in all those old Kung Fu Movies.
The next 2 episodes are amazing. Can’t wait to see your reaction!
Pretty sure Varis is supposed to have alopecia, hence the "don't have to shave" remark
Everyone was rooting for the Starks then all the bad things happened to them simultaneoulsy, Arya's journey in Braavos and Sansa's life in Kings Landing and marriage to Ramsey, Bran loosing his legs etc.....I hope there is good ending for all them as I am watching with Bridgeco for the first time too
Some good episodes coming up and the beginning of the next season, too. HOpe you guys enjoy :)
If you want to see people catapulted over a castle wall you have to watch Robin Hood Prince of Thieves lol
Omg. Been waiting for next 2 episodes forever!! So excited
Popcorn ready for the next 2 episodes
I choose violence!! Best line ever!!
And it's coming in Episodes 9 & 10!!!!!
I need to know the end of that brothel, honeycomb, jackass story Tyrion never gets to finish.
This was the second time he started that joke and didn't get to finish it. The first was in the season one when he's "confessing" his crimes to Robin and Lysa Arryn.
Tyrion walks into a brothel with a honeycomb and a jackass.
Madame: What can we do for you?
Tyrion: I need a woman to lay with, for mine has left me.
Madame: Whatever for? And what's with the honeycomb and the mule?
Tyrion: My woman found a genie in a bottle, and he granted her three wishes. The first was for a house fit for a queen, so he gave her this damn honeycomb. The second wish was that she have the nicest ass in all the land, so he gave her this damn donkey...
Madame: And what about the third wish?
Tyrion: Well... she asked the genie to make my cock hang down past my knee.
Madame: Well that one's not so bad eh?
Tyrion: Not so bad!? I used to be six foot three!
HotD, first small council spoken by the King. Unfortunately, the middle is still a mystery.
So Bridget does the edits right because the number of times Cody is wrong just seconds before being proven so can’t be an accident!
Sorry B. Did I get you in trouble? Isn’t it great though that after 6 seasons, you still don’t know what’s coming next?
Offscreen deaths are the absolute worst. They did Blackfish so dirty. Terrible. I'd also like to say that the decision to mortally wound Arya was beyond ridiculous and one of the worst things to happen in the whole series in terms of realism even for a medieval fantasy show. This would have honestly never have happened in the books that's the thing... These details instantly tell you that the show writers can't even think of the simplest things and this breaks immersion completely from a big portion of the audience. You don't recover from that many stab wounds. You just don't. You can't even walk. It is what it is I guess, its one of the many terrible decisions, after they ran out of source material and choosing their own path. oh well...
Well, no, in this universe recovering from that many stab wounds is entirely possible. Jon Snow and Beric Dondarrion come to mind. We don't get to see how Arya was healed but that level of healing absolutely does exist.
Arya was healed by the water in the House of B&W. It can kill you or heal you. That was the water on the floor dripping off of Arya; You don't see blood until you get to the column.
26:43 I personally think that Jaghen sees what she went through and wants her to be strong enough to kill her enemies. I really think that's all it It was about
3:58 Looks like couscous. Every once in a while I do a no meat night, couscous with roasted radish, zucchini, carrots, and feta cheese mixed in. It's solid af.
We made it! It's all downhill now. Every episode up to the finale is insane from here. Love you two so much.
Arya has been fighting blind for weeks/months. She had the advantage
One thing that this show taught me was that I can hate both sides. Just because i enjoy them shitting on someone that deserves it doesn't mean I can't still hate them. Like i hated Tywin for how cruel and bigoted he was to his own son but still enjoyed him putting little dikweed Jeoffry in his place or him being impressed by Ayra. I hate Cersei but that doesn't mean I like the high sparrow who may be right about social inequality and different rules for the wealthy but is also homophobic, sexist, and thinks going barefoot means he doesn't have an inflated ego
Finally!!! I don't know if i'm speaking for myself or for everybody here but.. You guys make us wait forever. 🤦♂️
Honestly unsure why the harsh treatment of Jaimie.. You know how many people died from his retaking the fort? 1, because 1 person resisted. Because he did what was necessary.
I like when Daenarys returned, when she walked in that was a complete "what the fuck is going on here? Is this how you rule in my absence? NOT impressed!" look.
Battle of the Bastards is INCREDIBLE. Sometimes I watch that episode on its own because it’s that damn good.
Arya had the advantage of fighting The Waith in the dark because she had learned to fight while being blind.
Cersei legit woke up this morning and said "I choose violence."
Here we go with plot armor. Arya should be dead from those stab wounds since they would have pierced organs. Its a touch and go situation with our modern medicine, a slow death sentence in a Medieval type setting. Good things coming in the next episode.
What you have to remember when asking why they don't do certain things in scenes.
This is not modern day
Back then honour meant somthing even if it meant dying.
Us british have had that for hundreds of years and continue to do so.
And the way iq worked and how they thought when situations arose are not the same as how you are thinking now.
Cannot wait until you guys get to finally see what those dragons can DO!!!! It’s happening!!
You guys are about to witness the best episode in tv history and I am so excited to watch
Peak GOT in this season.... prepare yourself lol
The wedding and bedding of Edmure and the Frey girl wasn't fake. That definitely was real because it connected Tully to the Frey house. And his Frey wife gave birth to his son.
The girl that keeps coming after Arya, reminds me of a terminator from the movies. Her face is always stoic
You both are the best. Thanks for the regular uploads. That makes your channel easily the best GoT reaction channel.
Battle of the Bastards is one of the best episodes in tv I’ve ever seen!! Definitely in the top 3. Can’t wait for you to watch!!
Always liked your Reactions but I will never understand the Jaime lannister hate. Hes basically the biggest hero in westeros.
Look… if he would just stop with the sister stuff I’d be on board 😂
Exactly. Jaime saved every person in Kings Landing at the cost of the entire world thinking he lacks honor. It's been years of humiliation for a noble act.
I think people really just don't get Jamie. If Kat had killed Jamie the Brianne would have died at the red wedding
Viewers…. We have made it to the episode!
Battle of the Bastards and The Winds of Winter..
Lol the Jaime brienne scene....dude is a emotional vacuum.
6x10 is my personal favorite episode of dramatic television, period.
I don't think Jaimme had any intention of catapulting Edmuire's baby anywhere. He knew that Edmuire knew about him and Cersei, and he knew what everyone thinks of him, so he was just saying what he needed to say, and playing to Edmuire's prejudice against him. Though, they could have been a bit clearer about it. But it's not the first time he basically said, "You know I love my sister and I'm evil, so you better believe I'll do what I threaten"
“You’re getting old”….”he’s not”
"That's so stupid, that's so dumb...what a stupid decision"
Welcome to most of how the writing of Seasons 5-8 is for most things and most characters...especially 7 & 8
So excited to finish this season it’s about to get wild
It wasn't Edmure Jamie threatened to launch into the castle walls. It was Edmure's infant child.
Next 2 episodes are the best! Can't wait to see your reactions!
Jamie again looks like the bad guy but the results are the least amount of casualties.
I love how you introduce your wife as "this is my beautiful wife" in the intro of each video 🥺 What a lovely couple you are and your reactions are amazing! ❤
Really enjoying you’re reactions, interactions and perceptions .
You guys totally haven't and didn't understand Jamie's motivation when he took the castle! He only threatened Edmure with those things to have Edmure do what he did! Give up the castle without any bloodshed! The Lannister and Frey armies would have killed all the people in the castle! Jamie did not want that! He took the castle without killing! The only one who died was The Blackfish! Did you not hear him tell Brienne: "Lets hope it doesn't come to fighting? Did you not realize he just let Brienne and Pod just row away?
62 Mormont, not 64. Let’s not overestimate our troups.
I always feel bad for that one faith militant person. He went to fight and no one backed him up. They all just stood there and watched him die
-More
-What?
-Much more
-WHAT???
I laughted so much just for that
I love the way the Hound just comes storming in out of the woods lol.
The old rumor will be revealed in S6 E10
The "level up" was a nice touch.
The next episode is my favourite game of thrones episode. Actually it’s my favourite episode of any series ever. The show peaked during the battle of the bastards+ season 6 finale….can’t wait to see y’all’s reaction to it!!
