this is way better than aircraft carriers, nuclear weapons, attack drones. We should invent more things like this to improve our lives instead of destroying them.

This is the one that I really wanted to have. It will be also great if the smart glass will provide the hearing aid function to be connected to the ears.
Right now you can buy glasses with the bone audio transmission. It’s not perfect, but no big companies (yet) are messing with it. It won’t be super loud or not, but I can see people being able to have phone conversations and the like. With hearing an actual conversion and having the glasses talking at the same time though would be confusing

My girlfriend is from Peru and speaks Spanish and some Quechua, as you can see we don't have a common language but we still love each other. Currently we speak through skype, she will visit India soon and I wonder how we will manage things in person, this thing, if it works will be awesome.

Id buy something like this that can translate audio and text. Would be fun to play my Japanese import games and watch early Japanese show release. Would be great if it can come as an app or as a whole glass that literally translate only.. Google glass translate could be very helpful
This can also backfire, even Siri on iPhones and Alexa’s sometimes don’t know what I be saying

I wouldn't get too excited because Google translate has a lot of flaws. You should wait for a review on these glasses before buying them.

It's really amazing, but I have one concern.
The glasses translate languages in real time. The languages described in this video such as English, Spanish and Chinese have so-called SVO-type structure. However, can we translate between languages which have different structures, like between English and Japanese?
Well, Google can do develop such glasses, I think. I hope.
It should be based on google translate so everything possible there should be possible for the glasses as well
@@leamuller9724 yeah, but there is a difficulty on real-time translation because their syntaxes are completely different.
For example, if you wanna say" I wanna try on a suit I saw in a shop across the street from the hotel" in Japanese, you have to say: I the hotel from the street across a shop in I saw a suit on try wanna.
The word order is almost reversed.

Google translate is pretty bad for Japanese tbh, even with text. Voice detection will probably be about 50% accurate at best.
@@Okatogurui Yes, especially translation between Japanese and Chinese is so bad that even basic words are translated incorrectly.
And yes, voice detection is also bad. It might be because Japanese is too different from English.
Now weeds can go to Japan and say I'm reading real subtitles.

I think translation glasses are incredible, I don't use It yet, but I imagine can talk with different people around the world, of all cultures and languages, in fun travels or at work.
On my job, usually we comunicante in Portuguese, but we have Mexico office operations. One time, I had to talk with another mexican job collegue there, I don't speak Spanish and he doesn't speak Portuguese, so, together, we decided to talk in English and It worked perfectly. But, if one of us don't speak English, in this situation the glasses could be a great idea.
I'm a big thecnology enthusiastic, I don't have question about functionality of this glasses and the good things that this gives, certainly, I use this on my routine, but I would like to continuous my English classes, because, on my point of view, the learning is irrepleaceable.

It looks more like a translation function of VR glasses. If it is only VR glasses with translation function, I personally think it will be replaced by other products soon

How does it work in a public environment like a park full of kids yelling, or an airport with multiple languages speaking about flights while you're trying to talk to customer service?

this made me cry!!! i dont know why! i have wanted to do something like this since i was a kid.. everyone laughed at me saying its crazy!. imagine watching films and seeing subtitles on the glass instead of the screen. its translated on your selected language..

It's called pronouns. The cisgender people who like to show their support to transgender people display their pronouns like that. If you are genuinely intrigued by that like I was, I have provided the answers. But if you think it's "woke", you're free to share your opinions here and feel free to not write your pronouns. Nobody will force you. Changes like this are inevitable. Progress will happen whether you like it or not. Peace! ✌🏼
I still prefer the earplugs that makes the same and it's much better than have to be reading subtitles. This is anyways good for the deaf people.

If you read a book written in another language with these glasses and it is converted to your native language, it is a revolution, but it requires a certain communication speed, and there may be regional disparities due to Google Glass.

using transparent led screen is better than using a projector to project text on the glasses. save more battery 🔋
No that wouldnt work as you would need a nother lens to focus your eyes on the display just like in a vr headset while a projector can project the image with a clever optic disign right into your eye
But how do you respond back? Would you have to speak in English then google translate it into Spanish then you read the Spanish ? Or do the glasses speak what you say but in the language you want like google translate. Also ASL how is that gonna work. Will they show you hand gestures? I still have a ton of questions but if this is as official as it seems I need this in my life lol
