I'm almost at 5K!! Help me get there! Be sure to hit subscribe and turn the notifications on as you watch this video :).
Hi guys!! Thank you for watching!! What was your experience starting a new PCT job like? Have video suggestions? Comment below ❤️❤️
Do u have to take vaccines yearly in the medical field? I wanted to go to school to be a x-ray tech. And I'm highly against vaccines.
They want you to get the flu shot yearly around Nov.-Dec., and if you don't get it, you have to wear a mask until March/April. I stopped getting the flu shot and chose to wear the mask instead. But with C-19, everyone has to wear a mask now lol haha
@@KayThePA well atleast you have a choice i dont want to take a vaccine. hopefully they dont mandate it.
What you do now for a living? I Kno people make a career out of PCT in Alabama
In the hospital they make rounds every 2 hrs taking vital signs, take out trash, assistant with toilet n bathing/ I guess it depends where you're a pct but I wouldn't want to be one in the nurse home, I rather be one in the hospital because you can learn more
Yes, be respectful but stand your ground. People will only treat you the way you allow them to treat you.
Exactly!!
On my way to my first day! Wish me luck ladies!
Starting tomorrow. Going to wtand my ground and have rhe compassion for each person
Do you still work there? How do you like it? It's been 2 uears
Yup! The tea part is right! That’s why for me, I always told myself that if there’s drama going on at work I have to be positive all the time. Like if people talked bad about others to me , I tried not to say anything bad about the other person. Because i don’t know the other person so why say something bad due to a one side drama lol. So I always try to stay positive as much as I can. Aha
My favorite piece of advice you gave was 'You can sip the tea, but don't spill it.' Thank you for your video. I feel like I can listen to you all day long!
☕☕☕😂😂
I think it's better to be a patient care tech at the hospital
Yesss!! When you look good you feel good and perform well!!!
You gave wonderful points. I wish everyone could hear this. What you said need to be in handbooks.
Thank you 🥰
Best advice you’d ever get! Thank you Kay 💯👌🏾

I start my PCT job on the 30th of May and the wiping butts part is concerning haha. But as a pre school teacher right now, I think I will be okay!
Lol I was terrified of that part 🤣🤣😭 it'll be okay though.
Yea that’s what I ain’t to crazy about ha I just graduated as a medical assistant and did emt before that but I just applied for a few pct jobs until I can go take my state exams to get my license. I pray I get the job just a lil worried about that part of it lol
@@sherkiaprather9273you get the job? How is it?

Yayyyy!! Good luck!☘️☘️ Comment and tell us how it goes!!
Thank You !!!
Because of lazy nurses I resigned from my pct job. They don't want to help while they expect you to do everything.
Lol 😂😆🤣🤣 I feel you on that!
I heard that as well.
❤
Hi Kay! I’ve been enjoying your videos. Thank you for your advice. I’m a Covid 19 screener and was wondering about a PCT position in ambulatory services. Do you know much about that environment? Is it much different from other areas? It’s outpatient so I was thinking it might be not be as much bathing /toileting. And I’m not sure I would enjoy any of that 😂. Any information is greatly appreciated 🙏. Keep up the great videos!
I can tell you outpatient is MUCH better. No bathing, poop, nothing!
If you make a career out of being a patient care tech do they make enough to pay all your bills and live a comfortable life I wonder about that I used to be a certified CNA in Montgomery Alabama and my highest paid was $10.50 2017 but now they are paying more like $16
@@chichinone7555 I’m getting paid $20 as a PCT
What’s the process with a PCT at a hospital I know it’s like 5 weeks of training?
I’m wondering if they are 12 hour shifts of training for a PCT ?
Hi! Yes, the shifts are usually 12 hours for about a month of training. Some places may be less.
I started my pct job tonight 07/09/24 and I’m having second thoughts rather or not I’m going to come back
@@Kiesha-rq4bf Really? What was the experience like for you?
My second day today!
How are you liking it?
Been so nervous to start my PCA night shift.
That's very understandable, especially with the pandemic going on right now. You can only do your best though and try to not let it stress you out.
Can you tell me is it just a written exam for PCT or a written exam and skills exam ?
I didn't take a written exam. You usually have to get an EMT or CNA license to become a PCT. I don't know anyone who has an actual PCT certification.
Thank you honey 🍯
