    Thanks! What happens if you are in a commercial and they don't see your face but only part of your body interacting with the other actors (you get direction and your task is important for the commercial), would there still be a buyout or just a day rate?

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Usually if you are not recognizable, that is in the contract and you wouldn't get paid much. Depends on the contract and if it's union or not.

    When do you get a buyout fee? Is it closer to when filming is finished or at the end of the year or whenever your contract ends??

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  ปีที่แล้ว

      The buyout is listed in the original casting post. If they want to do a buyout or a flat rate, it will be listed on the casting and will come with the paycheck. This is how it was in the jobs I have done in CA 😊 hope it helps!

    I have a question. For Non-Union, So if it has more than one day of work. For example, if its 5 days of work and the session rate is $1000, does that mean I'll be getting paid $5000 in total for all the days outside of whatever the buyout rate is?

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the buyout rate is in addition to the daily rate. 👍

      @@BelgicaPaola Oh ok, and this is for non union commercials?

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This can be for either. Really depends on the contract. I have experienced it in both union and non union.

    So I'm paid a day rate. But there was also a buyout for 1000.. so do I get paid the 1000 as well? Do I get this after a year?

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the contract says your day rate plus a buyout you should get all that now.

    You should start playing that guitar; that would be pretty bad ass!

    wait so you only get paid the buyout rate after a year?

    • @BelgicaPaola
      @BelgicaPaola  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lena 😊 No, if it is a buyout rate, you get paid one time after filming. If it is not a buyout, you get paid for the usage for a certain amount of time (usually 1-3 years) and if they want to use it for longer, they pay you again and will usually work with your agent to negotiate that extended usage rate unless they already included what the extended usage rate would be. This might be confusing still. I'll make a short! 🤔😁

      @@BelgicaPaola Thank you for explaining, they also have like the day rate and then the buy out rate... that's why I got so confused
