that's what they tell you but that's not actually the case in metal series, balls have always been stamina, but they labeled it as defense, because of how they are balls are equal on any angle, so that's why it would be defense right? Well, instead of collecting friction, they glide across the stadium because of the equal hemisphere. This is more evident when you look at tips in burst like weight. For needles it's a bit more complicated. In metal series, needles were called sharps/spikes. Sharps were stamina, spikes were defense. Sharps sucked though, because they were thin and stupid and dumb and I hate them. Spikes were good because they actually could take hits. E.g, wide defense, defense spike, etc So in short, they were never swapped, just misled
The main reason I'd say it's better to use UX beys or whatever is actually meta rather than sticking to Hasbro is if someone went to an actual tournament even if they only have access to Hasbro beys their opponents wouldn't so for competitive stuff it's best to test it against the best of the best
Gear Ball is also just strange as a concept. As a Stamina bit, you'd want your Beyblade to be in the center as much as possible. However, they gave it gears, meaning you'd want to go to the X-line more. A good attempt though.
I see it as a way to more consistently counter attack by having it catch the rail easier when getting knocked around. I wonder if they could have made it like rush though and gave it less gears and maybe smaller surface area but still more than Ball so it's still different.
now let me tell you about the best (debatable) crest combo of today theorycrafted by yours truly (i had to bother beytubers for this one) i call it BOUND CREST (leon crest 7-70 bound spike) both offense and defense and very thick
I really like gear ball on unicorn sting since unicorn has a good mix of aggression and defense, usually with 9-60 to help with that gap the layer has.
@@davidbeltran8142 It’s funny you mentioned it, Unicorn almost became the blade I used for this video! Only issue I had was it seemed to burst more frequently than lance.
@@EnderXGamingHQ yea unicorn just has that very awkward gap between the ratchet and layer which makes it burst pron but I’ve had many times where it was good as a stationary attacker.
It is a bummer, to be sure. I love the idea of Gear Ball; a moderately mobile Stamina-focused option that can pull of some big Dashes sounds almost like a mix of Ball and Rush - and I'd have loved something like that for Wyvern. I'm currently trying it on Chain Incendio with a 5-60 Ratchet. Don't have either of the Knights yet, but it's like it'd be something to consider, too!
@@victort.2583 Definitely tell me how that combo goes! But yeah gear ball is just a straight bummer, thanks for stopping by Victor! I appreciate your support!
Whale Wave 5-60 Gear Ball is actually pretty good. The recoil and weight of Whale Wave are enough to offset most of the downsides of GB. The recoil of Whale allows it to get knocked into the Xtreme Line enough, and Whale Wave is heavy enough to spin longer. Doesn't fix burst resistance, but is still pretty good.
@@ShadowDaPk for sure, but I chose 9 specifically for its burst resistance. I needed something that could combat gear balls inherent nature of exploding 💀🤣
If you have a Dremel, stick gear ball on to the end of a chuck and use a razor blades blunt edges to mill it down into a perfect replica of ball. That's what I did, it's that bad.
The only saving build I can think of for GB is Phoenix Wing or Tyranno Beat 3-60, heavy weight to increase the effectiveness of counter attack and decease the chance of bit burst.
This video is very nice to see. I just got Gearball. I’ve noticed that the gale wyvern that came with it has terrible burst resistance, and my gear ball has a flaw where the shaft can pull out of the bottom of the bit a bit. Has anyone else seen this problem? For a combo. I want to use gear ball on my yellow Hells Scythe with 5-70 to increase the attack power that scythe has.
@@EnderXGamingHQ I thought the resistance was a ratchet or bit issue, but it’s the wyvern blade. The GB bit had normal resistance when on hells scythe. And adding some glue helped fix the popping out issue.
The Purple Knightlance has 4-60 GB on Random Booster 2 which is what I want to get before. Tried Gear Ball on Wizard Arrow before and it didn't work right compared to Ball, I'll try this one out later.
Oh hey, look at that, i'm immortalized in a beyblade video, lol But jokes aside, kudos for going into depth on this bit and it's shortcomings. Putting it on Knight Lance wasn't a bad idea though, definitely held its own better than I thought it would. @EnderXGamingHQ Nope it's just a good part. I used to use it on Rod and it worked fine. I think it's a really good part I just think not every part of bey or every combo is for everyone. Everyone is different and what works for one doesn't always work for all. But GB is a solid part. It's not for every bey or for everyone.
@@MatthewNoBeyblade I wouldn’t say it’s a good part, I think Rod was carrying a bit for that combo. But I do agree people have a lot more success with different parts than other people!
