It doesn’t matter if Lucifer “barely wins” against opposite spin, because it does it very consistently. It doesn’t matter how much/little you out spin your opponent, as long as you do it consistently (which Lucifer does very well in opposite spin). Barricade Lucifer is actually top tier in competitive because it’s so great at countering Guilty Longinus which claps everything else, that it doesn’t need good same spin matchup, the whole point is to counter Guilty and let your Wind/Dynamite+F combo do whatever it wants
Finaly someone pointed that out
Imagine being a bad beyblade but being good at countering one op blade. Your bad with the rest but good at countering one op af beyblade lol.
Barricade isn’t top tier. It’s good, and viable, but not top by any means. It is still pretty rarely used in competitive because of how abundant right-spin stamina types like Dynamite/Devil-F and Wind are. It’s pretty niche and only really used in finals Deck match type.
First off, great video. But I have a couple points to bring up.
> While not good for it's intended use, Virgo's Gravity Ball 145 found use in a niche attack build that was pretty deadly. And with X's taller than average beys it might actually do it's job.
> Sagittario's C145 was actually meta at one point due to it borderline hard-countering low attack types. But I agree that it would probably be bad in X due to how chaotic and hard they hit each other.
> There was actually a bey in the Metal Fight era that had wheels, TR145, seen on Divine Chimera and Screw Fox. It was a pretty good for defense builds that could answer to low attackers and spin stealers. But it probably still do awful in X since the wheels would probably snap off in just a couple matches.
> The barrier gimmick could actually do really well in X if they made it a free spinning metal disc around the blade. Not rubber. Or if they just do a semi-free moving ring like Kreis Cygneus, it could have some monstrous recoil for funny gimmick builds.
Burst had the weirdest gimmicks
Plastic had some weird ones too
@@MarcusHaaksma I didn't watch much of plastic
Gemios''s performance tip should come back
Because burst had the most gimmicks
@@oba_okuhuh?
The wheel gimmick actually worked VERY well in plastic gen with Roller Defenser, that AR is the best non compact defense type AR in plastic gen
The CS145 gimmick was rather effective in warding off low attack types if I remember correctly it was even competive at one point
Yeah it was such a cool spin track I have it and it’s pretty good, but when it’s low on stamina it scrapes the staduim
@@pebbles0700shouldn’t be an issue with WD
Triple attack would honestly cool to see, preferably on a balance type instead of a stamina. How quake doesn't make the chopping block astounds me.
I was about to comment that lol
Honestly yeah, it was just put on a dumb type.
Here in South America was a competitive at one point, with the ability of having three types of contact point made it pretty decent, it was common on Attack types and Tornado Staller combos. But it was a bich to fix when it breaks in half or one of the contact points breaks.
Dude just roasted all gimmicks that look pretty different. He has points as they are not working well but I love to see these gimmicks are being added anyways
I think cyclone had the best wings from all the ragnaruks. Big wings allowed it to reduce impact from attacks better than all of previous forms
Yeah it’s actually pretty decent in performance
Plus metal wings actually work well as attack types then stamina. Reason why Crash Ragnorot could actually be used.
@@jajathenewking6131 if It had good burst resistance
@@umbradragon1371 dash drivers mostly were attack types in cho z so it could only uses those.
I feel like a lot of the beys with these gimmicks weren’t bad because of the gimmicks, just bad because of the execution.
For example, Hyperion Burn and Beat Kukulcan were bad because of their shapes. Hyperion became so edgy that it bursted itself too much, and Beat Kukulcan was outclassed at the time of release (other than as a consistent counter to Maximum Garuda) due to it’s somewhat rounded shape, even when the gimmick was in effect. For another example, the Quest driver had the potential to be amazing if it was made to be shorter with a wider suction cup to avoid destabilization.
My point is that a lot of bad gimmicks could be redone extremely well if executed properly. If TT just outright swept them under the rug, it would seem to me like an easy way out of improving their effectiveness through design modifications and creative thinking, which sounds a lot like something Hasbro would do.
@@klausfurland6186 hasbro might get axed from beyblade, cus tt is pl;anning to liscense beyblade X under thier international brand of TOMY and not hasbro if the press release translation is accurate
i think if the barrier gimmick beys had alot of metal on the outside to help with stamina.
I'll add to this in 2 ways: 1, for some reason kukulcan from hasbro (atleast from my testing) was actually insanely good, probably due to the slopes making it near unburstable, 2nd of all you can easily apply this to metal attack tips. metal had more grip for plastic attack tips than plastic during MFB due to how they were shaped. just take direct comparisons of metal flat and plastic flat and apply it to every tip variation. of course it had less grip than rubber but we might not need rubber during this generation. plus it would help with them being so darn topheavy.
Another really bad gimmick was the jumping feature on storm Capricorn and I think jumper Pegasus or something like that.
Oh god the Quake performance tip lol
Operate O-O
1:45. Actually GB145 has a niche use in tall attacker builds thanks to some Physics shenanigans, along with its weight. I've seen MF-H Flash Nemesis GB145 RF used before, and it seems to hit pretty hard in a way that probably can't be replicated by just using a normal 145
Yeah, GB145 works especially well on Flash attack because of it's heavy weight, the metal balls keeping the weight on the outer ends of the bey, and especially its shape
@@CitryteYT Exactly that. The Flywheel effect, I believe it was called?
@borby4584 the technical physics term is that it balls increases the moment of inertia. Higher moment means it takes more energy to slow it down. This is also why the phantom wheel is a great stamina wheel. All of the mass is concentrated on the outside (high moment of inertia) so it takes longer for phantom orion to slow down
@@Player-pj9kt thank you!
Most of these gimmicks do work, they just don't work very well
The extending contact point gimmick was used in a few different ways.
The ChoZ beys had extending wings that locked in place that opened via spin speed. Worked really well.
Archer Hercules, Orichalcum, and Shelter Regulus had parts that extended out then retracted. Had varying results.
Heaven Pegasus, Hyperion Burn, and Beat Kukulkan had click based extending contact points but only Beat Kukulkan was able to benefit from that.
Shining Amaterios is an odd case because they didn’t spring at all. Softened attacks.
Hazard Kerberus is the opposite case of contact points that could push in which was only really hindered by the solid contact points that the moving blades connected to.
Actually the claw gimmick in C145 was pretty decent for defense.
True in real life, Pegasus will be able to hit Sagitario claws And lose way more stamina than Sagitario
yeah the thing was it's always paired with an S tip in the anime. while wd/d/ewd/swd/rdf/cs or tips like those could've been way better
Flare dragon also had metal balls
I think if the bullet gimmick were to return, if the bullet is also able to use extreme dash it might generate enough speed to actually do something
Doesn't have enough mass though, not to mention the lack of height.
i do hope they have a lil room for experimentation though without sacrificing a beys playability
Same
The Claw on like Drivers and similar parts is actually decent for defense just they always give it to Stamina types for whatever reason and it's really bad for Stamina types
They are good for defense but the scraping will still drain the bey stamina.
"Triple Attacker"
Weiss Tiger: "Hi."
6:30 there was the first Vyborg in the plastic gen and in my opinion it worked well. It could only change mode once which was ok.
Actually after galaxy zeus there was one more burst beyblade that had the metal ball gimmick: Flare Dragon in GT. It was never in the anime
Also, with Barricade Lucifer, glueing the blades to the layer actually helps it perform much better.
For claws of Flame Sagittario. Put a WD like tips on it and it's fine it will work. The reason the claws suffered is because it's always paired with a sharp tip even in burst they did it. But I didn't really liked the Armor gimmick on the Phoenix beys
Are there any gimmicks you actually like? I feel like a lot of these work in theory, just could have been executed better.
I saw a left burst video were they had metal beyblades and used quest/a suction cup driver and it actually did well I think they could bring it back in beyblade x if they make it stick to the stadium better and can amp up the stamina portion of it as well
The suction cup did have a very unique and niche advantage in stadiums with a spinning center, because if you stuck it just right, the stadium kept it spinning virtually forever. Is it worth keeping for that scenario alone? No, not really...
If Egis’ suction cup driver was shorter with a wider cup & base, it would have been really good. This gimmick isn’t bad; the execution was.
if they did a bit like this in X I think it would be really good it was just a test driver after all
I first thought it said "come don't back" lol
Diablo nemesis X:D had the same gimmick as the trick driver and it works pretty good
I had 3 tops when I was a child, I first got one of the basic dragoons, the anime had just dropped, the toys had just arrived in the stores, it didn't last very long, I think the first few batches were made much cheaper than later ones, manufacturer probably cheapened out in case of international flop, and once the money started massively fliwing in from the general mania, production costs were made to match the Japanese counterparts, my guess here, could be wrong, but it was enough to get me, and all my school mates, completely hooked, the second one I got to replace the damaged dragoon was one with giant blades that would protrude out the topmost layer from spinning, it made it gave it very poor ballance and led it to perform pretty poorly overall, I don't remember it well enough to check which one it was, because the one I replaced it with, was the one I used for years, it was the green one with metal balls, specifically, the one that had 3, using one as the tip, I had tested it with the side balls out to compare, the metal balls really helped it be even more stable, because even without, it outperformed most othe tops my friends had, that thing was ballanced just right and if launched propperly on a clean, smooth, flat surface, could go for literal minutes, genuinely impressive. Most ballanced toy I ever got to use, including RC cars and all.
me personally i think that the only working stamina gimmic was archer hercules. fenominal gimmic with the metal on the outside for more outer weight.
For the 6:53 barrier the first and last version of it was bad but Lucifer the end was good if they were going to bring it back they going to have to change a lot of it to make it somewhat work
there was another plastic Bey that had claws but they were plastic and free spinning in the fusion wheel
Bro Burst is the best! Imo, Beyblade X is going to be vanilla, no gimmicks,
The gimmick in Beyblade X
Don't want: unremovable face plate for better combos
Wants:
1: the return of free spinning Sub Attack ring/Attack Layers
2: the return of engine gears
God I hope Engiene Gears come back soon
honestly the suction cup gimmick was bad but if they tweeked it so that it doesnt fall over and maybe somehow reduced friction inbetween the suction cup and the beyblade, it could be an interesting gimmick
Glad that none of these came from my OG days. I did kinda expect Michael the american to make the list though lol.
dude, I would SCREAM if there would be a metal bullet like driver
They should make an upperattacker in X with like a s130 with the teeth on the track, it would be lethal
4:00 The first winged beyblade was Wing Defenser
Well it may maybe comeback for improvement or just for fun gimmick
Quest driver I see ur point but here me out it is fun to use even if its bad, and its funny in general especially when u actually win
They should just make a metal flat bearing drive, semi metal flat bearing drive, metal ball bearing drive and vice versa of those 3 on rubbers as bearing drives
Keep up the good work!!
The first bey with metal balls was actually Metal Ball Defenser, not Draciel S
Quest could be more useful if the Bey was heavier, making it cling onto the stadium better.
I always thought the wings in turbo were designed to block the bey from witch does seem usefull to me
The blade or ratchet would be the only things that could have any gimmicks, sinch the bit has to ride the x rail
“make the balls big again” sounds hilarious out of context
Hmmmmmm... nice
GB145 gimmick is the best attack gimick to come out and if you get 2 gb145's you can mod it to have 2 in each thing which is op for defense
Metal balls are actually pretty big got me dyeing
u should bring archer hercules ability on ur new vid .it my first beyblade and got me into beyblade seeing my friend had one.
I like how most of the useless gimmick can be found on burst lol
This might piss you off but I kinda want barrier and suction cup gimmicks to comeback. I do genuinely believe they could both work. I saw Beyblade Republic make a free spinning version of the barrier called Doom Lucifer. I also saw Kevo purchase a fake quest driver and put it on his Lord Spriggan and it genuinely worked better.
i think the wheels on satan work a bit better against fafnir
Bullet and Trick is Fun to play with because its so Random I think All of these gimmick need to be Upgraded If TT wants to Use them again
I think claws were actually pretty cool. like, they don't do much, but they look and feel cool! hell yeah! I'd be sad to see 'em go! also metal balls... they don't add much, but they don't DETRACT much either! I think they're cool!
As for ragnaruk wings, in terms of crash "parrying"? I think hazard kerbeus pulled that of pretty well!!
as for everything else in your video.. yeah! I don't think these should return! although, I think extending blades still have potential?? If they were used in REVERSE, I think that'd be cool! like, a bey having incredible attack in the beginning of the battle, and being super defensive later! I don't think it's a lost cause yet! but yeah everything else was kinda pointless lmaoo
I just watched ten minutes of beyblade discussion. Jeez. Just randomly picked sounded interesting. Didn't realize the product got an anime.
Engine gear was peak beyblade engineering.
I agree with most but I really like the barrier gimmick, the only thing it needs is it to be free spin
3:22 reference to bey wheels
flare dragon from gt also has the metal ball gimmick
I'll be honest sometimes some gimmicks are fun for the sake of the gimmick. For example the suction cups are dumb and disastrous, but it's so funny that I want to see it return.
I never heard of striker drone
it would be (so awesome) if quest came back bro, like (it would be so cool)
The shot driver :...........
I think the barrier gimmick can work, but put it on a duel spin bey
Ambush Bazilisk B8 (Hasbro) actually has the driver "Liner-Q"
Rubber barrier gimmicks should only be on left spins if it there is a majority of right spins
Or on a dual spin bey so that it can work at least alright in most battles
The last bey with metal balls was Flare Dragon from GT.
Beyblade X needs to end with some bad guy breaking the universe and bringing together all the villains and heroes from past generations for an epic throw down.
There’s a reason why they got rid of the claws when Sagittario evolved
The trick driver style technically came with Diablo nemesis if you aligned the parts Right
The wings one is one the least useless here. If its metal and it could pop out more, it would have an impact, not by offense nor defense but stamina, it makes they bey more circular as well, but it wouldn't be better if the wing were big ad cyclone and if its metal like crash Ragnarok.
I just have to say, this just highlights how the metal era was the best. Rip the best beyblades ever.
The ball gimmik was seen on flare dragon
can you do gimmicks that can return
Sure thing
@@MarcusHaaksma yay mostly gimmicks from metal fusion saga
Sagittarios claws should come back, they were interesting bruh.
I'm sure we can all agree that the suction cup gimmick on the Quest driver suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked!
“then they should probably make yhe balls big again”💀
If they did bring back all the gimmick better hope the execution is much more better compare to the predecessor like most of this gimmick could work some are even more unique compare to those that are actually in the meta but not crazy good and get outclassed by gimmick that are boring but works well with the system
They might not make a huge difference but im pretty sure they are just meant to be cool and make it more fun
basically all the fun gimmicks.
True
Would something like B:D Quest be good at both stamina and grip.
I think that near burst forms should never return. Examples are the Excalibur line and that one cage fighting dudes bey from evolution. It relies on luck that the bey cant actually use because it has no stamina.
P.s. bring back the double attack gimmick from doomscisor from evolution pls and thx you
1:30 Draciel Metal Ball Defenser was the first bey to use metal balls, not Draciel S.
Not gonna lie i kinda like the suction cup just wish it spun longer or had a much heavier body
For the Trick Driver- Ultimate Balance Diablo Nemesis was a strong user.
claws are the only thing I disagree with, on defence and attack combos they can work just fine, but on a stamina they are just uslesss
The claws are a traditional at this point
God forbid they add fun to the spinning top kids game
Surprised Move145 Quake wasn't on this list 😂
I disagree with #1.
Yeah, it's not super useful but it's genuinely fun to play and actually different enough to create the "wow factor" when it actually works as it's supposed to work.
I genuinely hope we will see something as much creative in X or maybe an improved version of Quest.
The metal balls are also on flare dragon
Oh yes they should be in beyblade x
You shouldn’t be in beyblade x
Gimmicks are fun. Gimme all the Gimmicks!
4:55 this aged well
I've stopped watching beyblade after the metal series. And I'm really questioning if I should start again or not.
1. don't worry it's impossible in X
2. kinda worked in burst won't work in X gotta agree on that
3. they are fun but yeah with the speed that X beys have in battle after a xtreme dash these would just brake
and yeah drag that's the same reason why lucifer suffers againsts same spin oponents (trident was the first on burst to have that btw)
4. yeah thay don't work
5. eh kinda worked it was a ragnaruk staple tho
6. that thing is just weird
7. editor's note says it all (also yeah it is impossible)
8. doesn't work same spin works really good opposite spin
9. editors note again and that wasn't the only problem with burn it also was the trash teeth that tt gave it
10. funny enought it could work really good if done right in X
Ur to focused on the meta personality I think that although the bullet driver is bad it is a really cool gimmick and I wish I bought devolos for that reason same with trick it was not good but cool
