ER/ICU nurse here. I have 3 pairs of Hokas, the first of which I bought out of desperation because my feet hurt so bad during shift. Also, because half of the hospital were wearing them and they looked so cool. They are really expensive for me, but OMG, they are the softest, firmest, most wonderful shoe I have owned. It's like walking on a stable pillow. Foot pain went way down. I bought 2 more pairs because I try to wear a different pair every day so I aggravate different parts of my foot (not the same part) every day. My 3 pairs are about 5 years old now and they are still remarkably comfy and have held up awesome. I will buy more as needed even though I am now retired and don't have as big an income.
