  • Schuberth C3 Pro Helmet Review
    www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/sc...
The highly anticipated Schuberth C3 Pro is here at long last, along with a list of new features that rival the Dead Sea Scrolls. The outer shell has been redesigned with a rear spoiler, similar to that found on the S2, using Schuberth S.T.R.O.N.G fiber construction. The C3 was already a quiet helmet, but the C3 Pro has shaved another 2 decibels off the noise level for a total of 82db. The faceshield still comes Pinlock ready, with the Pinlock insert in the box, and has turbulators at the top of the visor that slice through air like a hot knife through butter. The newly designed internal sun visor is now constructed of polycarbonate and now meets the Australian standard AS1067 for clarity. The venting scheme has been improved with a new style chin vent that better clears the faceshield, a top vent that flows more air and more mesh in the neckroll to aid in hot air extraction. The comfort lining has been completely revamped and now boasts a more comfortable fit, especially for those with a more narrow head shape. A Coolmax Thermocool treatment has been added to the lining to help deter bacteria and odor, and keep the lining feeling cool to the touch. A narrow fitting cheekpad option will also be available for those who need more room. There is a new SRC System that will mate to the C3 Pro that uses the 31" internal FM dual-band antenna that snakes around the shell for FM radio and increased communication range. The C3 Pro Woman helmet will be offered in a variety of fashionable colors and a plush interior that feels softer against the face.

+Phil wilson The helmet is designed to pass the DOT safety rating. The real advantage is the German build quality and how quiet it is. -DrewZilla

Just completed my 150 mile test drive of the C3Pro, it was awesome. low noise, felt light. A real pleasure to use. Waiting for the cheek pads to relax just a touche before venturing into the 500 mile rides

I love this helmet - it's fantastically safe, very functional (especially if you wear glasses), very quiet, and fits very well.

Thank you Anthony. You are the only person I’d ever listen to when buying anything for my bike.

Right on! Happy to hear you found a choice that makes you happy. Please keep us posted on how the N104 and BT kit work on the road. ~Ali

The medium weighed in about 3 pounds, 7 ounces. We haven't had a chance to ride in the C3 Pro yet, but dropping 2 dB is a significant difference. ~Ali

Warning on this one; If , like me, you are a very snug fit with the C3, you may want to get one size up with the C3 Pro. I bought the same size when I upgraded from my C3 to C3 Pro, but the change in the padding and subtle modifications to the internal shape caused a very noticable change and simply was too small for me. One size up instantly solved it and was very comfortable.

I have to say, that was the best and most thorough review of a helmet I've ever seen. Well done Anthony, that was brilliant. This is such a good channel. If I lived in the States I'd only ever buy from you.

The placement of the ratchet strap has been repositioned and the chin curtain have been redesigned to better accommodate an Adam's Apple. ~Ali

Because of the position of the sun visor mechanism, it's going to be difficult to mount most BT kits on this helmet. The best option is to go with something like the new Sena SMH10R that uses a low profile velcro mount that can be placed just over the sun visor lever. ~Ali

I see a lot of people here complaining about the helmet. Maybe you got unlucky, and it has a defect, or they 're not made in the same way. hell, or maybe i'm the lucky one. I have one, foi a year and a half now, about 25,000 Km, on the hot Summer, the rain! wind! fog! its awsome! its quiet. As long as the visor is clean, the pinlock doesn't let it fog in the center. I used it in a up right position in the CBF 600Sa, and now on a sportTuring with a more lay down position. The vent button in the top never Popped out, Lol. its quite an investment , mas but one of the best i´ve made.

Hey Nick. My apologies. I was thinking of the SMH-10, not the SMH-10R. The SMH-10R and the SMH10-11 both have wired microphone options that allow for installation on the C3 and C3 Pro. You still have to mount the unit pretty far back on the shell, but it will work. -CK

I really love that they moved the chin straps more forward, I could not bend my head without choking. And every time you swallow its just really uncomfortable. So you had to ride with the straps more loose, and that isn't that safe. Plus if you try to open the helmet ( not the visor ) the helmet would move around because it was not that secure with the loose strap.

For ADV/Touring, I'd go with the C3 Pro. The convenience factor of the modular is hard to pass up, especially in the ever-changing conditions that ADV/Touring riders are faced with. -CK

I own the Hi Viz of the C3 Pro. Lots of features to love about it (it's really well vented, the internal sun visor is great) but I'm counting the days to replace it with an Arai- after such a huge spend, I need to keep it at least another year. Ant does mention the hi viz color is designed to annoy the brain. It cannot be ignored. That's great & the reason I picked the color.... but then when I started riding with the girlfriend, she politely mentioned that it fking sucks to sit behind a huge neon bubble 2" infont of her face. I'm in front looking at spectacular scenery, she's got a face full of hi viz.

The Pinlock is the only means of anti-fog on the helmet. Pinlock, in my experience, works 100% of the time, no exceptions and is the best anti-fog system available. Without it installed, you will definitely see fog on the shield. This would be true of either the Schuberth or the Neotec. -CK
